I recently picked up a 2021 model of this exact guitar and the camera doesn't do the top any justice. It is so much more beautiful in real life than you would ever imagine. Plus it can look so much different in different light spectrums too. Then when you plug it in you realize it sounds even more beautiful than it looks! I can't explain how much I love my bourbon burst! Mine does not have a single QC issue anywhere that I have seen so far.
I have a 2022 50s AAA top Burbon Burst Gibson Les Paul Standard. I must say it's a beautiful instrument and plays like butter. Nice to have Gibson putting out quality guitars again.
You don't cover the pickups when you use steel wool ? You could get a lot of micro steel particules magnetized on them and it's not easy to get them off. I learned my lesson.
I have the same 2022 model 60’s bourbon burst and love it! Just bought the Gibson vintage re-issue restoration kit, the rosewood fretboard needs an oiling. I love that Gibson has put gimmicks aside to produce a perfect standard Les Paul 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
1:22 - Yet another one of these (what I assume is the Standard 60s based on the reflector knobs - you never actually specify WHICH model of LP Standard this is, there are many) with a nick in the finish underneath the pick guard? Gibson, this is happening WAY too much for a guitar this expensive!
@@Douglas_I If you watch the troglys guitar video on this guitar you will see that this ding is caused by the pickguard screw so, it is obviously a regular occurrence. I just bought a 60s and the screw now has a felt under it to stop the damage
I have a '60s Standard and the high E sounds like it's rubbing on something. Doesn't ring true. 10 gauge strings are better than the 9's. Should I file that part of the nut slightly? I use #2 pencil graphite when I change strings. The fret board in some areas feels slightly gritty should I use polish like in the video here? Stay healthy everyone!
Check the height at the nut before you file it and make sure the neck has the correct relief. Most of the time that will correct any issues. Sometimes if the slot is dirty or the string cut it some you sill have to reshape it for a clear sound.
@@guitarsunited Thanks for all the info. As far as neck relief goes, wouldn't one or more of the other strings buzz if the neck was off? I assume there are specs somewhere for the correct height of the nut? Last question; what is your opinion on using nut butter, if you have one. I will try the lemon oil. Thanks again! Rock on.

That looks more like the Heritage Cherry Sunburst. The Bourbon is way way darker.... Anywhoo thanks for the video....

I just purchased a 50´s standard Gold Top! What did you put on the fingerboard to make it look so great? I need to buy that!
Formbys fine wood lemon oil.
I bought myself one too and the fingerboard looks so dry. Will definitely have to get me some Formbys wood lemon oil!
@@guitarsunited Formby’s is getting hard to find now.
i'd be interested to see how you go about stringing the guitar.
Subscribed based on your choice of shirt 💪🏻

I wish he'd have shown us the nick.

Also if the fingerboard is Rosewood or Ebony, I would oil it with Formbys fine wood lemon oil.
