The warm sound of a slab board strat is even more enhanced by the gracious and talented Orianthi, we are blessed she loves Norm's and her visits to the store are appreciated so much by all of us. Thanks Ori, Jen, Michael Another outstanding guitar of the day.
@AstraVidya Because "The Industry" gatekeepers have to make sure the masses don't get distracted from Doja Cat & Cardi B by a woman who really has talent.
She really does. Watching some of Orianthi's live videos, I'm just blown away. She's running around the stage playing a great version of Voodoo Child in one of them. So much talent, it's a shame kids today aren't as into actual music. All you need now is some fresh clothes, a dj and auto tune. Not to mention, her newest signature PRS guitar is one of the series guitars out there.
@@kungpuk5186 She was the lead guitarist for Michael Jackson's illfated "This Is It" Tour. Afterwards she played a lot of guitar festivals through the years, My Friend. AWESOME guitarist!!!
It's funny because she starts with some kind of clean sound and jazzy licks, but immediately she turns to rock. She is a rock-'n'-roll beast and a lovely human being. Thanks for the video. Good morning from Spain! 🎸🇪🇸
Sweeeeeet love it that when talented people are around lemmo puts out front and jen does her thing makes these videos iconic i save all these becouse i want my kids to see what im seeing love you guys so much
One of my best friends bought his '59 in 1972 from a local guitar teacher for $100. He still has it. My buddy later helped me set up the '63 Strat I got in 1974. Fun guitars.
I remember catching the end of her gig ages ago when she opened for John Mayer in Sydney Australia back in around 2009/10-ish. She’s a killer 🎸-ist 🤘 🎶 🎶
Beautiful great sounding guitar. Congratulations on your new album Ori. You are a very busy lady, I just watched your video on the Gibson Channel. Wish you the best. 🎸👍🙏😎✌️
A 59 burst with that first year of rosewood in killer condition like that one is my dream 😴🎵 guitar. Hey Norm-hope you’re doing better every day. 👍☮️🌞🎸❤️
Just watched a video of a Japanese guy playing a Stratocaster that sounded all jazzy. Now here is Orianthi showing off more Strat versatility! BTW: Fender switched to rosewood because the maple boards were wearing out too early!
It’s amazing how the design of the Fender Stratocaster has stayed true to the original after all these years. This 1959 Strat is an awesome example to that!
@@stevesmith3990 😂 ok that’s actually funny but I didn’t mean it as strats suck I just mean noisy pickups 21 frets bulky heel access it’s just annoying
Two of my favorite things 59 strats and beautiful talented women on strats...She is more than qualified to touch that 59 beauty heard her do Voodoo chile..jam on girl. Hey norm jam on too.
Its so awsome that all of you at norms share the experience with each other and us keeping the music alive great great way to end the week with norm in the shop and the bad ass orianthi on a 59 strat. What a great week thanks all
The main feature about a slab board is that it’s’ joint where it meets the maple, is flat. Hence flat laminate RW board. The curved laminated ones would appear by AUG 62. The Jazz Master was the first to get these slabs. I’ve got a few slaberoo P’s and J’s. There’s nothing like em! Simply the best and offer up a more sinister tone than any maple necked instrument!
Some of those vintage Srats have such perfect intonation, the instrument will not let you hit a clunker note, / bad note, pure magic & * something like that magic flute on the T.V.Show H.R. Stuff & Punch? Great review! Keep up the work....
I'm mostly an SG guy, but highly respect the vintage Strats. That one is in pristine shape, and the tone is on another level. Would definitely own if I could.
This is so cool!! I was just reading about Orianthi and her history with Alice Cooper, and then, out of the blue WHAMMM!! She's ripping a 59 Stratocaster!!
These folks from down under, eh. What do they know about the Guitar? Well, there is Tommy (freakin) Emmanuel, oh yeah and Keith Urban, then there is Lady “O” my heavens! I’ll be looking for the Album! Great job everyone. Stratastic!
Interestingly, I thought I heard a bit more than usual of Carlos Santana's influence in Ori's playing in this clip, especially during some of the less overdriven passages, even though she was playing a Strat with, of course, single coil pickups.
The Charming Orianthi and a soaring strat, a lemmo spec check interesting what Orianthi said it must have been in the transition where they came both maple and rosewood boards. I don't think most people would argue getting either. Sometimes when I see the variety of female players out there I feel they look like they are under pressure to prove something, playing in a world dominated by men. Whereas learning the instrument as a a man I am always fighting against the instinct to play every note and trying to connect with the music at a more emotional level. Female players have this whole edifice of music they seem to have to fight against to be respected in their own right, and Orianthi is the right role model women need creative independent confident - putting noodlers like I to shame. Thoughts going out to norm great to have a surprise guest - I was sure it would be bonamassa. Well done Orianthi from the Cat - Channel etc (no one watches anyway)
Love the way she goes from chords to lead and back! Sounds great!
yep, call and response, Hendrix , SRV style
indeed, very Henrixy
What a Dream! Miss princess Orianthi and Sunburst! What a Eden! Both, The Two Special Beauties with all my respect!

Lack of original material.
“Guitar freaks” defines me too. I’m proud to be a small part of the guitar community legacy. Good job guys!

She's always an inspiration to me. Great player ... Love her power. Cheers from Germany!
She's so good . One of my favourite guitarists and a lovely lady.
She is crazy good. I’d love to see her and the insanely good Michael Lemmo collaborate and record something (if they already haven’t).
Can't wait to hear what Orianthi did with Rock Sugar, that lady can really play. Going to be some awesome tracks on that album. Happy Straturday!!!
What a treat!! Gotta see two AWESOME musicians play with this exquisite instrument. Thanks as always Norm, Michael, Jen and Orianthi!! Wooo!

There are many Stratocasters in the world. Orianthi is one and not repeatable. Thank You Very Much !

I love her playing and also how she dialed in that amp. Total pro.

Wow! Some great playing. I loved the clean at the beginning. I know it was warming up but smooth.
I just like her! Always love hearing her play.

That guitar is amazing its low volume was super clean and overdrive was super bright at high volume how is that even possible
Awesome strat ! 59 is a golden year when it comes to strats ! Nice raw sound 👌
Glad you haven't lost your Aussie accent Orianthi. Nice playing and nice Strat. Cheers from Oz.

What a fun Straterday. A beautiful guitar and a beautiful woman, just screaming 😱 ❤️ Could you ask for more?
Love Orianthi! Love that Strat! 👍👌❤️😎🏴🇬🇧
Those pickups sound glorious. I wanna buy everything in this store, haha.
I wonder how many people's first exposure to Norms was that original Orianthi Richie Sambora video
I would love that guitar, Ori great playing , and Ozzy twang. Best for you in usa
Orianthi îs a great player, and perhaps more importantly, a delightful person with an uplifting personality!
Just love this Chic still keeping it real since day 1🙏and still seems to enjoying playing every time you see her 🤘💄🕶☮
Boy when she lays into a guitar, she can really hammer that thing! Great... !!!
Gorgeous guitar, gorgeous lady! Thanks Ori - your playing is always right up there in the "Wow" territory!
One of the most unbelievable transition models I'
ve ever seen.
This is how well I think I play in my head, and probably will in another few years. Very similar style.

I'm Top fan on her Facebook because I love her. 1959 great year for guitars and me I was born in 59 😄 Miss you Norm get well.
Yes! So glad she’s back!
I would make a deal with the Devil for that Strat. Ori absolutely ripped it.

If Ori didn't take it home, I bet that soon after this video hit YT it sold. What a delight it is to hear her play it! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
It's probably a six figure guitar. Might take a couple more weeks.
@@tfrei3033 definitely not a 6 figure guitar. This one is probably between 40k and 50k
She sounds Mayer-ish , and Sambora-ish. Orianthi has come along way. A GR8 🎸ist!
Still remember and like her first hit single 'according to you' 2009
