The Who are great, and Roger Daltrey is a fabulous singer. I would say that as a Band, the Who were very unique, very tight, and very aggressive sound. A great compromise among all aspects. The Stones are much more loose, and have a freer sound. They are incredibly charismatic too. They may sound sometimes horrible, like a garage band, but they have tons of feel.
IMO- THE WHO IS THE BEST OF ALL YOU MENTIONED! Being a Frontman in a Band is NOT an Easy Task, imo it’s the hardest…. And ROGER Did the best Job of All…! With PETE and his unique style along with JOHN watching them THE WHO IS & Still Fantastic ‼️💯
Great to hear this from Roger, what a good singer he is. However Jagger can't sing to save himself, he's a belter and that's it, what a great song writer.
I've never heard of any band in history that was so dependent on a truly exceptional rhythm section as the Who was and now that Entwistle and Moon are gone Daltrey and Townsend pretty much sound like a Who tribute band albeit one with a lot of authority.
thanks for all the amusing attempts to defend the Who that I'm being sent, busting a gut laughing at outraged comments. The Who died with Moon and Entwistle and are now basically a tribute act. I won't read anymore of the "they're the best' jokes but if it gives you a warm fuzzy to write them then be my guest.
Pauses, problems finding the right word or with putting sentences together, forgetfulness affecting memory for places or things that have happened in the past... I can see some signs of early dementia here for sure 🤔
Daltrey has a lot on nerve talking crap about the Stones....at least the Stones are a fully functioning BAND. Without Pete Townsend Daltry would probably mow lawns for a living.
False! Roger CREATED The Who - you sound like an arrogant jealous Stones fan (this coming from a guy whose first favorite rock band as a kid was The Rolling Stones anyway...). The Who were better than anything the Stones TIMES 10. The Stones could never become what The Who were just musically and then LYRICALLY... Take a seat, please
And I gotta laugh - a "fully functioning band?" 😂 the Stones were 6 people always changing their backup guitarist. Imagine them now with Charlie Watts passed away how they'll ever go on. The Who were so gifted even losing Moonie (their key powerhouse), they still proceeded after about 15 years as a band somehow for the next 30+ years... Again, keep opinion out of things as best you can because the facts are saying otherwise.
Daltrey is right and wrong! If take the Stones' non commercial stuff, then the band is unquestionably one of the greatest artists of all time, BUT if we're talking their hits - which is what they're famous for - then, indeed, they're nothing but a mediocre pub band, if not worse!
What's wrong with the hits? If anything take away their early crappy covers of songs nobody cares about. Apart from Out of Our Heads everything else they did before Aftermath is disposable.
The English legends are always so cordial. Brilliant. Of course, Townsend is astounding.

Exatamente amigo, mas essa de parecer garagem que é o diferencial!👏👏
The WHO is a special band in a category of their own.

Long time stones fan, I cannot disagree with this opinion… Thanks Daltry.
You never see Roger Daltrey and Michael Crawford in the same room these days!

Roger was always so cruel about the Stones musicianship 🤭hehe

Everytime The Who played a Show with the Stones, The Stones got wiped off the Stage
IKR the Who copied just about everything the Stones ever did and Keith Moon couldn't shine Charlie Watts shoes 😆😆🤦♂🤦♂
In that case, where would the Stones be without Mick Jagger?
A mediocre pub band! BS to you Roger!
He’s right. They’re a pantomime act.
@@yesman2755 If they had a better singer.....
A mediocre pub band 😂.
