Thank you Darrell of all the videos posted online for "how to" painting videos, yours are the most helpful. You explain while you go which really has helped me on most of my paintings.
@Freak7109 I use this technique for oils, acrylics and water mixable oils. The only difference is in the handling of the mediums. With acrylic, I use gesso and water as a medium to keep the canvas wet. I also use a very fine water mist sprayer as I keep the canvas wet for up to 2 hours with acrylic. The problem with old tubes is not they expire is that if air gets into the tube, the paints dry out. If you can squeeze it out, it generally means you can paint with it.
thank you for demonstrating waves...... it will help me greatly in my work....... im picking up different techniques from different ppl........ thanks again
@EnvyPiecesOfRainbow I use oil paints. Brands are Martin F. Weber Prima, WO, or Bob Ross, as well as Chroma, and Alexander and Winton. Pretty much what is on sale.
I did this and it worked. The water and waves look really good . I can never do water and waves. Wondering if it can be done in lighter colours. Thankyou
@EnvyPiecesOfRainbow Thanks. This week I'm working on some new films about doing a basic seascape and a deep ocean wave. As soon as I get them done, we'll post here.
@monitoot Anytime I can help. We're now just starting to understand the UA-cam Technology and how to use it even better for staying in touch with all of the students and getting even more great tips and instructional information/buides.
I'm glad I stumbled upon this video - Ive been wanting to do a painting but wasnt sure how I was going to do the water. This will surely help! Do you think these techniques would work well enough with acrylic paint? I've not used oil much.... I have some old tubes - do they expire?
People are so negative. There are a million different styles of painting and this is one of them. Idk what island little Lulu lives on, but from my island, these waves look fine.
Brilliant mate. them 2 idiots havent a clue what theyre talking about. Sheer ignorance. Take it on the chin and rememeber for every one person who makes a commment like that, theres a 100 like me who are actually learning from what you´re doing. Very grateful. keep em coming
@lafarfallanera1 This is exactly what I'm trying to do. I want you to feel, while things may be challenging, you can do it. So I want all of instructions to be crystal clear. If you can envision what needs to be done, your hand will follow.
Yes, I define this as 'silent waters run deep' thing. But the problem are the white thing trifling waters added to the waves. I am not sure if they they are well done, it do not look real.
Would have been a good video except of audio and video quality. Both are terrible - why would I spend money and more time watching substandard videos? They need as much attention as the painting. Time to remake the series in a higher definition.
really not good art.. it is absolutely beginners work.. on video is writtem - Best art ever....no way....you have too much to learn by what you v shown on video... no skilled strokes.. no sense for composition of waves etc....

Hello,I not writer good in english, but I see your vid very very interesi t and useful, thanks you.
Hummmm. Good if your using oils or acrylics...but Im more inclined toward watercolors.
thank u.
need to see the first part when you added light blue waves over dark
LOL! I live in an island! and I have seen the ocean waters like millions of times! this doesn't even look like waves or anything like it!
I disagree, this was very helpful for me. The difference you're missing from inside your island, is that painted waves don't move.
cassacacia Your right :D
wat r u an idiot, hurt the poor fellas feelings
This was very helpful for me. If you have nothing nice to say I would suggest to keep quiet.
Should've stopped 2:35
Time you learn't how to paint Darrell!!
almost blew my eardrums with the music
the free course turns out to be $197.00,just joined his site no free course ,sadend he seemed like a ok guy ,but its a lie
pity he didn't show the technique for not sucking at painting
