Great explanation. I live my dream through these videos. I’m 55yo w/ kids in College and too old to change careers but I still feel like one of you guys when I fly my 74’ Piper Warrior as just a PPL. I’m happy with that.
I was a pilot in for a large corporate flight department. One of the things that I became acutely aware of was the psychological difference of being a Captain. IE there is weigh of responsibility that goes along with being a Captain. You could say that there is "emotional weight" that goes along with having the final say and responsibility of the flight. This can even affect decision making-It's a lot easier to sit in the right seat and make decisions. Not so while siting in left seat, with the pressures of having the lives in one's hands.
I don’t ask people how they drive because, as a retired first responder, I know that most drive like 💩💩💩💩!!! I let PROFESSIONALS do what they do and don’t question it. As I continue my pilot adventure to become certified, I appreciate your candor and behind the curtain look at what is actually happening on a flight deck so others can understand. I’m getting closer and closer to completion of my certifications. I will not take SAFETY for granted. I will NEVER stop training. SAFETY CANNOT BE UNDERSTATED. A successful flight is arriving to your next destination without incident. It requires professionalism. Appreciate all of your content, Garrett!!
After 12 years of trucking, I question at least half the truckers I encounter because there isn't a damn thing thats professional about some of these hairless apes. Then again my industry isn't one that's known for having high standards anymore.
Garrett, IMO, this is by far the best video you’ve made about the different details between PIC/SIC at the airlines. Please share additional insights. I’m about to take a CFI check ride and I’d love to be able to share this into with students from the beginning of their journey. Thanks again!
Love the Scruff and Tan look ! My Fiance is a Flight Attendant. The difference in his pay from the 2 seats on the flight deck is tremendous. Granted the difference in Training and Responsibilities are too. But he loves his job and nothing can compare with that financially
I was an American Airlines as a Flight Attendant when the company started a small amount of class time together I forget what the acronym for that was it emphasized CRM between the Flight Deck and Cabin Crew. Working as an International Purser it was very important we communicate well.
When CRM was new, it stood for Cockpit Resource Management. It now stands for Crew Resource Management, as outside resources were reckognized for their importance in this role.
@@kirbyclone3293 I retired in October 2013. I worked as a Recruiter/Instructor from 1983-2001. At that time it was a dural position. We were not always hiring, but there was always something to teach. Also, we may work in the position for six months to back to flying and then back to recruiter/instructor. It was during a day with a class at the Flight Academy that I ran to get lunch in the cafeteria there. I met a man in line who turned out to be Captain, we had lunch and have been together, now married for 8 years. So, work hard and keep the retirement checks flowing. Be well, my friends.
Heather, try again after six months. I was in Dallas to interview with Braniff, then just went to AA Flight Service Recruitment, walked in, and about three hours later, I had a job offer. It is just not the same. As a recruiter, the same could happen. I will tell you this: Dreams have no expiration date. Also, look back, but don't stare. Keep trying.
🎉🎉Why am I always the nice person? I'm no longer spoiled... It hurts when you are no longer spoiled. All you need to do is survive and think of your future, the lines of my face... It is just strange if you can feel something that he probably needs me on different way... How I wish I can be wicked...
❤❤I'm studying psychiatry, 3rd year mental health, and I failed many courses. I'm 30 years old and I still haven't finished it. I still have 3 years and my master's degree in 2 years. I wish I were a pilot, too. Turkish Airlines.😊
🎉🎉Yeah! You're handsome Garret??? Is there something wrong that might you need my help though it can hurt me... There are rules.... Love means letting go, if it is not mutual and fair...Right?
🎉🎉I do adore you... But love must be fair and mutual... Love is a big decison as well as welcoming other new people into your lives like Oliver the Monkey ;) I like your talking voice... It is strange...

I've seen dudes transition in their 50s
55 isn't too late to change careers. You can fly part 121 until 65 and do part 91k or part 135 until you can't pass a medical anymore.
Definitely not too late. I flew with a brand new first officer who switched careers and he was 59.
Can a 5 feet be selected as pilot
I’m 100% agree with all above.☝🏼

The Asian First Officer: Gear up, flaps up, then shut up.
I can feel you man, I’ve been there 😂
The 3 on one shoulder and 4 on the other was a nice touch to this video 😂 I see what you did there. Thanks for the great info as always!
You explain clearly I think you answered my question ..you always doing good videos and I learned a lot very interesting 👍 thanks Sir Garrett 😉👍.
Great explanation ❤ Your videos are amazing 😍❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for explaining. One thing i misunderstood was that thought your pay would start over from upgrading
Honestly I think that’s based on airline because I know airlines in which you’re right, they have to restart in pay.
Very well explained.
I always loved watching your videos Garrett loved the content, how come doesn’t pilot drew have his own UA-cam channel like you do?
Love the Scruff and Tan look !

Hello Garett Moi j'aimes tes tatouages Pilote où pas!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I ignored the pilot 😁
🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️👍😘
Within 5 yrs you changed a lot. Very skinny and exhausted . Probably night flights
The captain must overrule the first officer at all costs to assert her authority even if she is wrong. After all no man will tell her what to do.
Captain has final say but debriefing and reviews of conduct will happen. It can lead to fines or suspension
oh wow i'm early as heck
one time I was at the airport with my parents and then a pilot was looking at me from far white male
Was the pilot 🧑✈️ wearing his cap on his head as a captain? and what state was this at if you don’t mind me asking?

Do airlines care about your tattoos showing?
Yes, most of the US airlines do not allow any tattoos showing. If somebody has a tattoo sleeve, then they must wear a long sleeve shirt.
Yes
❤❤❤❤Hello Garrett Kiss my lips ❤
Cringe. All dolled up to make a youtube video about a pilot. Welcome to 2024.
