I read about a guy in UK who started a bakery from home. He was bored and started experimenting at home and dropping bread at his friends and neighbours and then people started ordering. He never went back to his old job and bought professional ovens... he walks around covered in flour but happy 😁
I've seen once a report about a couple of unemployed musicians starting a mustard production. They watched a children's programme about how mustard is made, tried it, sold at farmer's markets and so on. Life is like a squirrel.

A similar thing happened to me, I took a class about icing and cake decoration for an upcoming birthday and the next thing I know, I am taking orders and delivering them at the age of sixteen. I took a break from it for my exams but started again a couple weeks ago and it’s going great

This is the most inspiring thing I’ve seen today.
I lost my home and belongings last year due to a fire, on top of that there’s the pandemic, I’m unemployed and a student. I literally woke up one day and decided to start a small ice cream business, this video is giving me so much life and fuel !!!

I'm pretty sure there are, México City has a big Supply Center (wholesale market) full of people every day but with the pandemic last thing you want to do is be in those kind of places and yes they have costco (also full of people)

No wonder, it's pratically homemade, literally. My sister that runs an Ig bakery also received a surge of orders during the pandemic. So many delivery riders coming to our house to pickup orders, it is crazy
If you start baking, people will come. I started decorating cakes for practice and posted a photo and next thing I know, everyone is contacting me. I sold a little bit but had to stop because we are already so busy with other things, but I plan on getting back to it next year. Lots of work!! Kudos to this couple! Pretty amazing! Hard workers! My cousins did this too! They started a successful cookie company called BAK'D in Vancouver and are doing super well! So proud of them ❤️ if you live in the Vancouver area check them out!

Can't do this in Canada. Too many laws and restrictions around health and food. Understandable from a health perspective, but makes it near impossible to start a "cottage" food biz.
You can do this - if you work according to the rules. Here the same.
All I can see in this video and I adore is how much they love each other, trust each other and are working in harmony ! Keep going !
The most surprising thing about this story is the fact that they're able to do this and their local city. If I were to try something like this I'd be shut down in 2 seconds with no place to live

@@clwt4075 I have done it by myself. Started a home bakery since the first lockdown. It would just be better if I had a partner along with me, just to lighten the load and share the experience. Bc it’s not just the baking, there’s also a lot of logistics you have to deal with. Sometimes, that gets tiring to handle all on ur own! But thank God business is still alive and running til this day - without the presence of a man! Of course, I’ve had helped though - I mean who doesn’t need help? 😅

We can't just start up a bakery out of our homes here in the US. There are regulations and inspections from the fire department to health inspection and business licenses to get and zoning laws have to be reviewed because your house may not be in a zone that you can sell things from your house. So many laws and rules that most people don't do it out of their home especially food products! And, if you do start one up you could be shut down and fined big time.
My first thought (not knowing they weren’t in the USA) was how the heck did they pull that off and not get in trouble??
I was thinking the same thing too. Now only in the US but I suppose in most countries, if you sell something people are going to eat, you have to be qualified through health inspections from the state etc. Maybe they went ahead without those? They did say they winged it and the selling of their food came randomly. It would be great if the bakery could give us some feedback but nonetheless what they are doing seems amazing and their food looks delicious.

Home. The exact law varies state by state

It's crazy to know other people did this too! I started a bakery last year as well, it was a hit. But I was also working full time and ended up super burnt out, I realized it was not for me, still a wonderful learning experience :-) I'm glad it worked out for them

I started a home bakery in 2006. It was so much work. I was a soccer mom, raising a child as a single parent and working a full time job & djing. I loved it but baking requires so much energy and patience. I applaud them for finding a sustainable solution.
In Australia, you cant just cook in your kitchen for commercial purposes. They’re lucky!

I would have so much fun washing those dishes although Not like everyday. I’d just be amazed at the quantity of smiles coming from what was made In Them (the dishes).
In Italy you just can't open a bakery or any other activity so quickly, you need tons of permissions and certificates. You need hccp course for hygenic reasons, inspection by a specific department into your kitchen that must respond to very high specific standards. I admire you, but your kitchen, your working surfaces etc would NEVER pass an inspection in Italy. Having said that, your products look amazing, I love your attitude and creativity. I would definetly buy all your creations!
