I'm glad my little helped you out :) Nice video dude
Kev I am a subscriber of yours can you maake a video on hbx t6 buggy
Can u review the slash 2wd?
instaBlaster
Hey @KevinTalbotTV, hope ur weekend is going alright in the isle of man paradise.
I gotta say... This guy presents these RCs and his company extremely well.. Love listening to him explain stuff!
agree. reminds me of the way Jang from URC use to kinda brake things down.
What stands out the most to me about both of these trucks is….how much more expensive they now are in 2021 compared to when this video was made.
I absolutely love my UDR. Havent had any issues with it, and i have been running it almost every weekend since i got it about 6 months ago. Not a single thing broke so far. *Knocks on wood furiously.
@@AMain_Hobbies Tell me about it. The slash on the other hand, that is another story. I just look at the thing and I blew drive shafts and shock caps until i finally upgraded them.
Budrick3Gaming yea my slash is always broken. Got like 300$ in hop up parts and it’s somewhat decent now
@@Budrick3Gaming what?! Slashes are bombproof lol maybe your driving is the problem!
no they aren’t bro that’s the arrma senton that’s tought traxxas is ass
For the life of me, I can't understand why a major brand like Traxxas supplies trucks with that shitty steering servo. Come on Traxxas!
I love udr realism, I will upgrade it with better components
How it’s the same if anything losi more real and bigger
my sbr went out to my local field, and the stability was like so capable and at hight speeds. two UDR s showed up 30 mins later, and i kept watching them roll over after roll. love my losi
Saw two kraytons the other day. One rolled non stop. The other never rolled once.
I've never tried out the SBR and i own a UDR. The SBR is deff the better choice for performance, durability and power. So before choosing the UDR the next best thing I had was a 4X4 Slash. Stepping into the unknown territory of 6s, I know i was going to be in one hell of a surprise coming from 3s. So the UDR does have the power to it, and the other reason why I went with the UDR it just of it awesome scale looking finish along with the amazing travel in the suspension department! I love watching slo-mo videos on the UDR when it soaks up bumps and smaller jumps. The UDR is not durable enough to be a basher and a high jumper. I run my UDR like its an actual trophy truck trying to win the Baja race! =D
Drift it around every dirt corner and don't turn sharp on the tarmac because you WILL! flip it over. I don't regret my decision between these 2 trucks at all.
So with that drivinf (like a trophy truck) please yell me nothing has broken? Because i just bought one to drive it on dry beach sand
Losi without hesitation. Great video 👍
Had the UDR for one year and it is Absolutely Awesome! Thank you A main hobbies for all the reviews you do for all of us... 👍
Just got my udr yesterday and I love it , and my local hobby store has replacement parts for it in store
Great video, Brett!
I got a Traxxas UDR but then a mate got one of these Losi, the same one in the review and its a better truck. Yeah my UDR does accelerate a bit quick quicker but the Baha is better everywhere else.
Just seems more drive-able and stable in corners than the UDR and definitely is more resistant to rolling. Kinda stuck with my UDR for now but I do really like it. And I do prefer the look of the UDR..
true but losi trucks are meant more for racing
They are completely different cars, one is meant for realism the other is more for racing, you should have looked better for info since that fact is widely known in the rc community
These are really good videos. Love the approach you guys take and honesty.
this was a difficult decision for me owning nothing but traxxas cars as of this time but I decided on the Losi, and took it home yesterday...first drive was blast!!
Fire extinguisher not a hydrant hahaha love the videos man. Keep it up!
Yah I fire hydrant is the things on the street lol
The SBR electronics alone are worth the price difference. Its a beast of a truck. I had to lawn dart mine from 10 feet high just to finally break a front arm. haha. Great video.
Very informative, thank you for sharing. I'm new to the hobby and have had my eyes on the traxxas pro series. Now I know what I'll be getting into.
Thanks for the good video! I have owned both losi and Traxxas. As a general rule I have found the losis have beefier components and more metal items vs. plastic. But yes as to the general comments when I break a part on traxxas, go on their website, order with standard shipping and if I break it sat or Sunday at the track, I’m usually back out there next weekend because my part arrived and I fixed it
Losi parts? I’ve been sort of lucky with in stock, but not always. Sometimes it is 3 or 4 weeks or no part then it’s junk parts search or another company’s parts, it’s a total fiasco... 🙄
These trucks are soooo sweet!! I just don't know about the hundreds of screw's. Thanks for sharing Brett!
I Love my SBR!!! So happy that I bought one
Very nice super detailed review.
I've owned both... love the size of the Super Baja Rey but if you want decent size + SCALE driving the UDR hands down is the way to go
I like when u do comparisons Brett, good job, I own the UDR n its awesome!
If I had a choice I got to say I love my Rc converted 1/1 dessert racer 😂
@@AMain_Hobbies Just upgraded to aluminum hex's n aluminum lower trailing arms n so far its held up good with just those upgrades, I ordered upper rear trailing links too but they never showed up
Love my UDR. Haven't broken a thing on it yet. Considering some of the jumps and crashes it's had, I'm pretty impressed. No doubt the Losi is tougher, but for me I'd take the scale looks and driving realism of the UDR. The servo is junk though. Replace immediately.
I have one and I love it
wooh hoo! shout out to Kevin!!
Traxxas got me started in rc and I have had lots of fun with my traxxas trucks but that Losi is sweet. Hmmmm tax return time is coming.
Lol exactly w e rigs at least cant count rcs in 80s lol tax time how i got 5t muggy ect ect
I'm with you, when taxes show up. Rewarding myself! Anyone interested in a RC raffle? I want to buy a cheap 200 rc vehicle and do an online raffle....
but wait until you dont have a any parts avabile
Absolutely go Losi, even if they discontinue, they just don’t break, soooooo... there’s that.
KAREKIN FPV ARRMA is better then both of them
Right out of the steering servo burnt out on my UDR in 20mins, upgraded to the 330. Then the rear diff stripped out on the 2nd run. So I'm not a bug fan of the UDR right now.
Mines been solid, broke the sway bar crashing it but otherwise solid. I run on 4s tho
Fantastic comparison video. Thanks Brett. As far as your question, the answer is obvious to any seasoned (i.e. old) RC hobbyist. Buy both.
I don’t regret getting my traxxas rc’s. All rc trucks and cars are going to break. But I say both Baja and udr are great rc trucks.
Agreed it’s just annoying that when people say the udr is weak and they send it of off 10ft jumps both trucks are great my friend has a losi and I have the udr great trucks
Ezra begin the udr isn’t a race truck it’s a basher I’m not looking to baby a rc car that’s why I got it if I wanted to drive in the dirt I’d just drive a utv what’s the point unless your racing or jumping it 10 ft?
@@Ethan-lo1rc Idiot its not a basher
So the Losi is larger, more powerful, stronger, has better electronics . . . but the Traxxas looks more scale. You can have your looks while you're replacing parts all the time. Traxxas dropped the thing $120 to offset the dough you'd need to stack in it just to get it to run w/o it seeing the bench afterwards.
Not true my udr out runs my buddy's sbr all day. Yes I broke the trailing arms, replaced with metal and I always change the steering servo in any rtr. The sbr is a bad ass truck but its kind of a heavy clumsy turd lol. There both fun as hell.
Pretty typical. We thought things would turn around with XMaxx being such a tank, but traxxas habit of giving us the bare minimum chinese plastic tub-mobiles at premium prices strikes yet again. At least they have a healthy aftermarket I suppose, we can look forward to ground-up a really nice version of the rig from ordered parts like you could with the slash, riding plump with HR /GPM upgrades and RPM plastic replacements
Wow they dropped price , i still like losi better tho speaking of im missing my original 2wd slash from moving w mini revo it suck dont turn up
Price drop? 750 udr 800 sbr
@@ToGrimmToWin My LHS has the udr for $679.
I have both vehicles and it think my traxxas looks way meaner but my baja rey out performs it with bashing
if you could only keep 1 which would you pick?
But from what I see the suspension on the udr on the back goes was high and lower than baja ??
I'm with the Xmaxx any day but second choice , I would love to have that udr Traxxas
Sad face I just wanted to see them drive
For the kind of driving these are intended for I dont see plastic parts being a problem since you shouldn't be running it hard enough to break them.
I could not decide which one too buy,,, so I bought both except I got the Fox body orange one and I love them both ,but to be honest the Losi is better built.
I know I’m getting a udr. I’ll watch this anyway though.
Did you stick with it or... did you end up with a Arrma Mojave 6S V2 like I did. -in red of course👍😂🍻
@@surfside75 yeah, you should've just gotten a slash vxl for 200$ less (after batteries) that can do everything the Mojave can.
Nah bro.. I'm super happy with my Arrma Mojave, so much that I'm buying the EXB Mojave and sending it to the moon on spektrum 8S!👍😂🏁🍻
@@surfside75 Whatever floats your boat. Just seems like a souped up Slash
Bought UDR a month ago. Front driveshaft screw came loose. Other than that so far tons of fun and looks soo real. I gwt around 30mins on a pair of 3s 5000mah Traxxas batteries. Buying a SBR 2.0 this weekend.
Did you ever get it
I love how everyone is trying to proove a point to themselves that one brand is better than traxxas. They say things like "it looks better" that is an opinion and most people would say that the udr looks cooler. "its tougher" of course it is, the udr is scale and says not to bash it in the manual. "Its cheaper", of course it is, traxxas is an independent company and losi is owned by horizon, which owns hundreds of other companys including arrma and axial. I still like both companys and buy products from both of them, but horizon fanboys are very bad with this stuff and need to learn that just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it sucks.
I agree with you but fanboys seldom listen to logic. Unfortunately, everything has their share of them. I get shouted at by fanboys of my own football team because I’m honest enough to point out their flaws. They’re too busy being cheerleaders that they can’t be objective.
I just ordered the UDR and i was worrying about seeing all these videos saying its fragile but i also keep seeing after insane crashing it its breaking... Im glad you brought out that this is not a basher... if ppl want that they should get an xmaxx
@@xeroblastx I know the feeling. I bought mine used because it had only been ran once and was extremely cheap. Which also saved me the worry of thinking i bought the wrong thing. I see videos where they compare it to this and the mojave, but then they keep showing how the udr they are using is packed with aluminum parts which is just going to weigh the thing down. Btw from my experience, all the udr needs is rpm trailing arms and metal wheels hexes, i cartwheeled the thing twice extremely hard (which put holes in the ground) And the only damage was a slightly bent sway bar, which i haven't even fixed because it doesn't affect the vehicle.
that guy Awesome! Thanks, i will get some spares
The $100+ price difference isn't some arbitrary thing foisted by Horizon
The SBR is much bigger, has stronger electronic components, and way more metal parts than the UDR
The UDR might even have a better profit margin than the SBR in the end just in cost of build/material
Not to mention the SBR also has slightly taller tires. I've been interested in the SBR might pick up the BnD version sometime. Nice comparison, btw.
Thanks drog. The SBR is a great rig and you're right, those bigger tires are really nice. If you do pick up a SBR, let us know how you enjoy it! Thanks.
-Brett
SBR 1.0 isnt bad at all, I would take the losi all day, The SBR 2.0 is absolutely amazing, I've run my pretty hard but take care of toys lol, I have no complaints, fully stock(for now)
We are leaning towards the losi! We are diehard Traxxas fans but for the money I think the losi is in our winners circle pick!
Thanks for all the info u help with.
I get everything I need from Amain hobbies
I really wish the Losi came in kit form. That would lower the cost significantly Too bad the 2.0 doesn't either.
I'd lick the udr because I love Traxxas and the udr just looks so muck better. Evendoe the losi is better for the price you pay I'd still choose the Traxxas udr
Can you please male a comparison between Losi Baja Rey Ford Raptor and Traxxas Slash 4x4. Thanks
I would take both lol! I have the UDR already. The Losi looks so nice 👍👍👍👍👍
Traxxas FTW because It wont be discontinued in 2 years.
This is what kills me about losi
Traxxas is good depending on what the use the 2wd ones are good for getting in the hobby but not the best bashers. They also have tons of parts and they have been making some trucks for almost 30 years
Nope
Traxxas and Losi FTW
how long has the Losi ten scte been going ??
how long has the Losi 8t been going ??
how long has the Losi 5t been going ??
i think its longer than 2 years you know
gatti493 this guy has a point. I think the Baja Rey been around for 8 or 9 years already and still not discontinue.
Brett great comparison👍👍🤘🤘. I could not decide which one to get when these trucks first came out, so I bought both😁😁
@@AMain_Hobbies All depends on the location I'm going for the day😁
I love traxxas but this losi just is more appealing to me overall. Only downside is to try getting parts and will these be available in a couple of years?
Oh Yeah, parts should still be around in a few years.
-Brett
I hear ya, losi drops platform support like I change underwear(about once a week!)
Super Baja Rey by default. Not anything against the UDR, it's just that I can't support Traxxas as a company.
Looking snazzy, Brett!
Super baja rey is amazing!
Way more than the UDR.
@@NobodyNoWhereElse the price for amazing

Great video Brett! Very informative! The extinguisher comments are funny lol!
After the video I guess between the two it would be the Losi however if I were just choosing an RC I would spend another two hundred and get an XMAXX no question.
Oh yeah.. I mean.. Losi has that all metal chassie, just yuck... And the xmaxx, that wonderful all plastic chassie perfectly made in china.
Who wouldn´t want that.
@@flattabang if you can afford one try it out you will understand what I mean. If you are racing then do your thing, I understand Traxxas is not top at the track but crashing and bashing they have been the best for me and I have bought many. I have seven grandchildren and started out with Redcat, total junk, I spent more time fixing than driving however right now I have 9 Traxxas vehicles. The youngest is 5 years old and I keep them in training mode while learning, another great feature but for me keeping them all one brand is simplest and allows for parts to be used across multiple vehicles. So based on my experience, there is no question, its Traxxas all day long but that does not mean there is anything wrong with Losi, it is just my choice. My last comment in relation to metal vs polymers, do you realize some of the best innovation in firearms has been through the use of polymer? You might just be surprised how durable with the added benefit of being able to flex polymer can be, used in the correct applications its replacing steel.
@DeviousRC 66 People say the same about those who can afford a corvette then ask if they can look at it, my guess you have never driven one. Maybe one day but for now it is probably best you focus on your real car, you would not want to own a toy worth more than the vehicle you drive to school.
DeviousRC 66 you show how little you know already and your fixation on compensation should concern everyone. You should see someone about that, talk it out.
@DeviousRC 66 I agree they are your worthless opinions, you might want to learn to keep them to yourself. If you do not have anything good to say do not say anything at all. As for my worth, my generation takes care of our parents and our kids, something you will never be able to accomplish. As an example, I bet you are still on your mom and dad's cell phone plan and insurance. Grow up and take care of your own bills before buying toys.
Cool video!!
Hey Brett I heard about the fires destroying some of the amain employees houses, hope yours survived and all is well for you guys. That's horrible. Great job on the video.
Losi always love my 5t 2.0 and 8 e buggy
I'm good with my UDR. The SBR is just a bit bigger than I prefer. My UDR is for speed only, no bashing. I've replaced the problematic bits with aluminum the day I got it. If I want a basher, I'd use my Revo or buy the X-Maxx.
10 months after this comment, I now have the Super Baja Rey AND the UDR. C(=
Enjoy traxxas vehicles and actually in process of building a lcg slash to try hitting or exceeding the 100mph mark with it but the Losi SBR is badass.not only that but its bigger then the UDR not to mention faster out of the box so I'll go SBR.itll end up all hopped up anyhow so why not go bigger?lmao
Im going with Losi, hands down.
I'm a losi man but I like traxxas also, but losi FTW.
Losi really needs to put out new licensed bodies like the 1/10 scale King and Black Rhyno ones for the Super Baja Rey in BND (preferably with the vertical spare wheels in the back), I would be all over that, just sayin'.
Amain I love your videos subscribed and liked I like your cap
Traxxas usually includes a separate gearing for 'high speed usage' to keep the motor running cooler during normal usage. You should have put that in for this instead of the gearing it came with out of the box.
Brett - you do excellent videos, keep up the good work buddy!
Question for you (or anyone): how do you think the Arrma Mojave compares to these two? I am considering getting into something larger scale like this and really like all 3 but seem to be gravitating towards the Arrma. Please let me know your thoughts! Would love to see a Mojave video!
Thank you!
Not sure to be honest; we haven't used the Mojave. I think Losi has discontinued the SBR so I'd stay away from that. From what I know, the UDR has all the looks and styling, where the Mojave appears to be more a basher. The UDR isn't really meant to be a hardcore basher, but the Mojave may fill those shoes better. We're working on doing a review on the Mojave soon and a comparison between the two. It may take a few months to complete though. Hope this helps some.
-Brett
Amazing info, great job AMain! Keep doing these comparos as long as the manufacturers don't come down on you for telling the truth! As for Traxxas - sometimes you win (Revo 2.0 vs. Kraton), sometimes you lose!
Metal chassis always better than plastic. Learned that with the X-maxx
If you get the Losi good luck finding parts for the s.o.b..
Knowing Losi they probably discontinued parts for the Baja Rey before they released the damn thing! 😂
Wow, didn't think it was that bad.
I have never had any issues finding parts for any of my losi's. I have a sbr and 5ive t. The longest I have never had to wait more than a week for any part that I have needed. It takes about the same time to get traxxas parts since I don't have a local hobby shop anymore.
you tested the vehicles unfairly, you need to test the max battery capacity the car can handle out of the box without changing any connectors. That's a fair test.
Nah it wouldn't be. Now it's not even fair really because of the scale and the kv the motors have. Traxxas at i think 2200kv and sbr at 1200 is a big difference. And if you'd give the sbr a 8s ( think it's capable of that) it would theoretically go 73mph
Very nice comparison !
Great vid. Team Losi all the way.
Traxxas puts fire hydrants on their short course trucks
@@AMain_Hobbies I would agree. Nice job sir
Thats what we do out here
Man IDK both trucks are really, Really nice.
@@AMain_Hobbies Have a good holiday brotha!
Wow. This guys arms are scales ⚖️. Wtf. I want some of those.
My Traxxas is always needing my wrench time. My Losi is very reliable. My Axial and Team Associated like bearings. That's just my opinion though. As for the video both trucks look good. I would have to pick up the SBR.
Wow thx cool video. I like both companies but in terms of who would take more abuse i would say the Losi Baja Rey. The UDR breaks to fast
Omg how many times do I have to say this it’s called desert racer for a reason not a basher
And considering that you have a slash in your profile picture and the slash is weaker than the udr
@@ezrabegin8234 Thats actually not even close to true. The slash could take way more abuse than the UDR and not get as much damage as the UDR. The vxl 4×4 slash (which i have) is more faster and powerful than the UDR and can take a hell of a beating. So yeah not even close to being right man. Im not arguing i am just saying 👍
@@ezrabegin8234 ikr i hate it when people say that the udr is meant for realsim driving not bashing get it right people.
Mlg Dank rc fair point but my experience with the slash has been horrible anyway both trucks are good
I own both and I am a hard core Traxxas fan, but I think the losi is better built.
Great video review can i use just a single 6S brick instead of 2 3S maybe use a bypass wire like Arrma dose Merry Christmas to everyone @ AMain Hobbies and happy bashing👍🤙😎🤪😜😝🙈🙉🙊👊✌
The UDR has that bypass wire and a cap that also screws in to cap off the plug itself.
@@AMain_Hobbies I guess it depends on who packages it. Mine came with the plug and the cap already but is missing something (which I don't recall what it was) in the box.
One is heavier and of a larger scale, should have let the losi run on 8s. Running it on 6s is underpowering it imo.
I will take any of your leftover old RCs from Amain, Brett!
Preferably the electric models, thank you!
What do you need!?

Brett,
May I have an old Brushed Trx4 or ProMT? Or even just a plain slash or a Short course

AMain Hobbies
Alright thank you;) I was only partially joking, but thank you again for noting it! You are awesome, and I will keep YOU in mind. 🚘 just hit me up when you guys are about to dump an outdated item ehehe
I owned both and I sold the baja rey. No doubt the baja rey was a bit tougher but it ate batteries because it's so heavy. Also, if you want to buy a new body it's extremely expensive. The UDR looks sooo good while it's driving. Keep it on 4s and enjoy watching the suspension work. I love my UDR. Way longer run times with my batteries. However the baja rey could survive a nuclear blast and the stock UDR servo is complete garbage.
Losi 24/7 I have have had 3 Traxxas products and thy have had problems with material, thy will brake EZ. On the other hand i have the Super Baja Rey and the only thing i truly hate is taking off the body.
Awh, it's ONLY like 24 screws...
-Brett
i like udr🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Traxxas and my local hobby store has parts in bulk in hand for it for upgrades
I just got the UDR yesterday. I hate the battery placement and using different connector adapters is next to impossible. The body is also a pain to remove and I'm sure a better design could have been possible.
Yeah, the battery compartment on both of these trucks is pretty tight. How do you like the truck other than that? Been having fun?
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies It's decent but poorly designed and will sit on a shelf now getting road time every once in a while.
Now...the last time we reviewed losi and Traxxas (xo1/losi6)...Traxxas made it look like they care just a lil bit more 🤔
Traxxas is overpriced, under engineered crap
udr ftw mine is bullet proof after I changed all the diff weights and silicone sealed the components.
Dam that super Rey looks sweet !! Great comparison Brett 😁👍🏻👍🏻 Has Traxxas taken Losi to court yet ?
Court ? For what?
@@jeffkinsey3801 Because TRX like to sue other rc compagnies for irrelevant patents.
@@NobodyNoWhereElse give me a break. Nobody's copying any pos traxxas rc.
@@jeffkinsey3801 But the sues of TRX are real.
Fire hydrant? Lol🤦♂️🤣😂
Own the use and run 4s. Truck has been utterly reliable. Definitely not a basher. For the ultimate in realism it is the best choice. Bashers need not apply.
I like my UDR
U forgot to mention a planetary gearset carrier feeds directly into the rear spool, I don't know why traxxas did this? I believe it changes speed of input from rear driveshaft to the output of planetary into the spool. If they were trying. To have the rear spool spin at a different ratio from the front diff, why not just run a different pinion to ring gear ratio from front?
Once you own a RC you will find out its weaknesses. Right now i am regretting my udr. and these are my own opinions. tires are to small. sure it looks nice but it tends to flip too easy and nose dives alot due to the rear bumper scrapping off every jump that has to much of a kick/angle. Me being a basher. this truck is not meant for that.
You need a longer jump. You shouldn't be bottoming out on launch
I like the ARRMA Mojave and the udd
Am traxxas man but i love losi it seem to hold it own
Next time can u show it next to an 1/8th scale short course, that's what people really wanna know, is it just a "traxxas glorified" 1/8th scale. 👍
You should do a review on the 2.0
Great. Keep it up.
In order to get the traxxas up to par with the losi truck, you would have to spend about $200 in upgrades…
Just have to break balls but what the hell is a fire hydrant doing on a truck? Lol I don’t want any truck with a fire hydrant on it
