The main reason the UDR doesn't torque twist is because it uses the planetary reduction in the rear axle. This means that there's less torque being applied at the rear drive shaft which is what actually creates the torque twist. That's why it's set up like that

As somehow who grew up in this hobby in the late 90's ans early 00's, and is just getting back in to the hobby, it's been so odd to see Traxxas seemingly be considered the top brand, including truck racing. It's hysterical now. Traxxas is only a top brand because they sued competitors into the ground. Honestly they have a single good platform these days. That's the slash. That is a fine chassis and it has HUGE support and racing leagues for them world wide. They would get annihilated by anything else but there are so many club racers that race the slash it's always competitive much like the tt02

I love my udr even though it gives me problems but that’s kinda my fault anyways I just love the suspension and sounds and scale realism and the light kit is Awsome when I take it to the desert at midnight
I think the UDR doesnt make as much "Sense" but i can truly say that there is no other RC machine out there that offers the experience that the UDR does.
The difference being the superior design and quality of the differentials. I've been bashing my UDR on 6S since 2018. I have never had to replace any gears in either of the 3 diffs. My BR1.5 needs new diffs on a regular basis just running 3S. Losi really cheaped-out on the physical size and poor metallurgy.
The big dfference is that the UDR is more realistic than the Losi, the UDR mirrors an actual real trophy truck from roll cage to chassis and suspension. It is so nice to watch the UDR go through whoops and jumps as the suspension cycles. I say UDR all the way.
You need to take into consideration some Luke don't need to buy the battery because I have one, the price for me will not increase and you can tune the suspension on BR2 for soft oil to have much better experience
i want to own a baja truck so bad and thought about these two trucks. But spending almost twice the price for the car and for batteries again, carrying nearly double the weight.... i went with the baja rey.
I love the Baja Rey platform and been thinking about an f100 purchase ….I already have 2 Baja Reys and one SBR .. What drives me nuts is how high the front end sits and seems very stiff compared to the prior models. My local hobby store had an F100 on display and I was playing with the ride height (raised the spring collar to lower the front end) which helped a bunch and seemed to even out the plushness equal to the rear …..even the store manager came over and asked what I did to is cause it looked much better 😅
I'm trying to decide what to add to my collection next. I've got the SRR and a Hammer Rey. I'm considering picking up the new Baja Rey and hitting up some local public tracks and single track for general fun. I see the UDR and the size interests me, but I've never owned a Traxxas product that hasn't had the electronics die in a few months. My SRR and hammer Rey gets the brakes beaten off of it and launched daily and it hasn't so much as hinted at a problem. You overall like the Baja Rey?
@@jeepmanxj yes, I prefer the Baja Rey and SBR ….they all have their faults but overall can handle some abuse. I considered the UDR before but have read and heard of many issues ( can’t remember of the top of my head) but remember it was enough to shy me away from them….
Saying they are close in size is like saying the UDR and big bro SBR 2.0 are close. They're the sane type but different classes. I have the SBR 2.0 and still think the Mojave is the best. Less realistic but better
I imagine you might be able to get it to work somehow but i'm not really sure. It might require some modifications and customizing. You'd be better off getting this LED kit made specifically for the Felony. -Brett
Baja Rey is cool But the UDR would still be my choice 100% it is the ONLY Trophy truck the REALLY DRIVES like a Trophy truck for better or worse (it even CRASHES like a real Trophy Truck XD) BUT it WILL NOT drive like a Slash, Senton, or and if the Rey family so only buy it if you want the Desert Truck style of driving and it will take skill to control it but in my opinion that is THE BEST PART! Back in the Day before the UDR I bough an Axial Yeti Score TT and even though I tweaked it a bunch to make it drive more like a Trophy truck, and it was NO WHERE NEAR the level of the UDR
Ive 2 baja reys, one stock and one massively hopped up, and an udr and BR seems like a toy next to udr. Lack of weight, cage wayy to flexible and body flapping around, the way it bobs around like crappy 1/10 trucks. Impossible to tune it even remotely close to how udr handles. BR 1.0 is also total pain to work on, 2.0 makes it slightly easier but still I'd prefer to service 3 udr's instea of one BR. Scale look wise UDR is just densely packed with full wheel wells and no gaps where light gets through while BR has massive gap over front shock tower which takes away tons of realism. Battery wise, UDR runs perfect on single big 4S pack. Gets half hour of scale driving and sliding around. UDR has no torque twist cos of the planetary gearing, the rear drive shaft spins at way higher speed but lower torque reducing it massively. Limit straps are partialy there to make sure it does not overextend as it would just explode at high rpm.
im trying to turn my slash 2wd into a desert truck, any suggestions on that? I have ideas on a good body, I just need to get my tires to be tighter to the car to not rub a ton on the rear body fenders. Putting the shockwave body on the slash makes it looks so good, I just want long suspension travel and decent damping for that more scale look, I even have anti roll bars front and rear. The problem is getting shocks that are tuneable for that squat but not too soft that makes the car just handle like crap. Are there any dual or tri rate springs that I could look at that would acomplish this?
I don't know of any springs for the Slash like that. You might be able to find repurpose other dual-rate springs though, I just don't know of any that would fit. The Slash shocks are tunable though; you could try adding lighter weight fluid and see what happens. The Slash platform and suspension isn't designed to be a desert truck. You can take steps to make it look more like a desert truck, but mimicking the performance will be the hard part. -Brett
I really like both trucks. Allthough i will just say this. If both of this trucks was made by traxxas i would go with the f100. If losi made both of these trucks i would think twice before buying one or the other..
The main reason the UDR doesn't torque twist is because it uses the planetary reduction in the rear axle. This means that there's less torque being applied at the rear drive shaft which is what actually creates the torque twist. That's why it's set up like that

When will you have them in stock? I see all these videos but you can’t buy them anywhere.
Which truck is better at real speed, both look amazing in slow-mo but, to my knowledge, my eyes see in real time
That BR2 ate a curb at 6:31 lol
Haha. It came close but I swerved last minute and didn't hit it.

i want to own a baja truck so bad and thought about these two trucks. But spending almost twice the price for the car and for batteries again, carrying nearly double the weight.... i went with the baja rey.
UDR is still the winner of all time
Based
True but the baja rey is half the price, in my opinion although the UDR is better the baja rey is pretty damn good for the price
Can you easily take the BR2 onto a clay short course track with jumps? Or will you damage it taking some bigger jumps?
Saying they are close in size is like saying the UDR and big bro SBR 2.0 are close. They're the sane type but different classes. I have the SBR 2.0 and still think the Mojave is the best. Less realistic but better
Yoooo brother by any change udr led kit work with the esc arrma felony what u think
I imagine you might be able to get it to work somehow but i'm not really sure. It might require some modifications and customizing.
You'd be better off getting this LED kit made specifically for the Felony.

I'm more of a realistic desert truck enjoyer and really want the udr
How you said the udr wasn’t made for big jumps my friend sent his like 1year old udr almost 30 feet and at least 8 ft high
UDR doesn’t torque twist cause of the planetarys
Losi could've done a better job with the front grill and securing the spare tires not dangling around back there.
Brazil? BR? QUERENDO UM DESSE

I fucking love my UDR
Agreed!
Deff UDR it is more realistic with shock set up. Prob handle even better. Losi focused more into the rc motorcross
I really like both trucks. Allthough i will just say this. If both of this trucks was made by traxxas i would go with the f100. If losi made both of these trucks i would think twice before buying one or the other..
I'm putting my money on the udr. It looks so much better and realistic, and come on, it's traxxas!
Can you run a single 4s lipo in the UDR
Yes you can.
-Brett
ive had the udr in my wishlist for a too long but i love losi.uuugh
Udr all day
UDR wins hands down. They knocked it out the park.
Apple and oranges. 6s vs 3s is like comparing an F150 to a Ranger.
and also when people going to sell them they would ask double then what they pay for and after market does not add value
I don't think rubber/flexible limit straps can't really be considered
limit straps.
Traxxas does not have a 1/10 UDR ?
I just wish the udr was actually more affordable smfh
