How To Enable Motherboard HDMI Port for Multiple Monitors - Use Graphics Card & Integrated Graphics
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лип 2024
- I've had a lot of people ask about doing this with AMD Ryzen CPU's. Most of them DO NOT have integrated graphics, so this won't work. Ryzen CPU's with a 'g' at the end of the model number have integrated graphics (ex. Ryzen 3 3200g) so they will work fine.
For Intel CPU's it is the opposite. Basically, all Intel CPU's have integrated graphics except the ones with and 'F' at the end of the model number. Ex. the Intel i5 9400F will not work.
SOLUTION: In the case, you don't have integrated graphics, your graphics card most likely has more than one port to connect a monitor from (for example DVI or DisplayPort). If your monitor only supports HDMI you can buy an adapter (usually for fairly cheap) to connect your monitor to one of these ports.
In this video I will show you how to enable the HDMI port on your motherboard which is disabled when using a graphics card. Your CPU needs Integrated Graphics for this to work!

Thanks mate,
I felt like I was going crazy not knowing why I couldn't run a second HDMI.
Thanks for the quick and easy-to-follow tutorial. Was super helpful especially as I have an ASUS motherboard, Recently purchased a 4th monitor, BenQ 2480, from Gumtree, but my graphics card has only let me use 3 monitors so far.
Omg ... 1-2 hours of googling for stuff! Thank you! HDMi was disabled in BIOS since I'm already running a GPU! I appreciate you!

Thank you very much for this. I was able to connect cintiq alongside of two of my screens to my PC with the help of this. Great, fast and clear video.
omg bro. i love you for making this video. i had no idea it was even possible to run the onboard AND a GPU at the same time.
i literally would never have guessed to try that.
you're my hero!🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Thank you so much! You're a life saver!
I just purchased a used EVGA gtx 980ti, and was experiencing high idle temps (63C) with my 2 monitors plugged in (2k 144hz via display port and 1080p 60hz HDMI). I read somewhere on a forum that this would lower my idle temps, and it totally did! I also set my primary monitor to PCIE (not sure if this was necessary, but I did it just to make sure my DP monitor was the main one, and the HDMI was secondary). Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this. I was going mad trying to get a pen tablet to work, and it turned out that my CPU integrated graphics was turned off. These quick steps instantly solved my problem
For those that didn't work just by enabling iGpu from Bios, remember that Fastboot when enabled, it will skip at Windows boot loading "unnecesary" drivers and some check-ups to boot faster. ¿Why it works after turning on and off your Pc several times? Because Windows will disable Fastboot temporally due to sequential incomplete boot attempts. You can disable Fastboot manually to let Windows detect your, by Bios enabled, iGpu next boot.
THANK YOU, this was brilliant and finally did it for me.
@@Chaaaarlotjeeee how did YA do it ?
Thanks for the quick and easy to follow tutorial. Was super helpful!
Also, very clean looking desktop! Wish mine was half as nice, hah.
Saved me the time and money. Was about to go out and buy all types of cables. Turns out my CPU is not integrated so I used the GPU one instead. Thanks for the first part of the video.
You had the most succinct and effective answer for this relatively simple question. Thanks!
Pure genius thank you so much. I’ve spent hours searching how to do this and you came up with the correct solution . Yayy it now works. Thanks again 😊
I wrote "hdmi out" in youtube and found this instantly, but then, I have a black belt in google and youtube so that helped, hahaa. This video was indeed a good simple solution to our problem!
Brilliant video, after changing my motherboard my second monitor wouldn’t work, I found this video and sorted it in less than 10 mins 👍🏽
Super helpful! Realized my cpu doesn’t have integrated graphics so if anyone else has this problem your gpu most likely has a display port as well as hdmi so you can use those. Most probably already know this but just in case anybody was wondering
Thank you so much for the info. I've been researching on how to connect 3 monitors on my PC and finally found this video. You save my day. 🙌🙌
thank you so much for this video it has really helped me out :)
do you need to install the integrated graphics driver?
Thank you so much man! I thought windows 10 f'ed up my connection because of their updates. I did almost everything I read and watched just to connect my tv to pc but non of them works, till I saw this vid. While watching I saw that you have hdmi port on your video card and I was like "let me check mine!" and there you go! I plugged it my hdmi into my tv and it worked. I kept plugging it in on the wrong hdmi port at the back of my cpu which is the topic of this video. Have a wonderful day and thanks again.
My new monitor is coming and I didn’t have a vga cable connection thing on my pc and thankfully found this video. Everyone said it was helpful so I’ll be using these instructions as well :)
Thank you for this helpful video. I was going crazy trying to use the HDMI port of some PC together with the HDMI port. I had no idea there would be an option to enable it in the BIOS. Thanks to you I got it working now! Cheers 🤩
I wish I could leave you 5 likes, I've been trying to figure this out for sooooo longgggg thank youuuuu!!!

Thanks for the short, simple video. I will add that I thought I stuffed up because the background looked weird when I connected my tv. turns out the background image setting was on stretch, not fill.
Great video just want to add for those who follow every step but still have no display leave your computer on my second display didn’t start up for 5 to 10 minutes but now works spot on

im trying to install a seccond gpu which is a 3070 on my PC. i already have on 3080ti installed. I have enough power but after installation, there is a lag when I move my mouse and frequent crashes. I tried removing all drivers and doing a fresh install with DDU. my motherboard is asus rog strix x570 E.... Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. could it be something with pcie lane support?
From what I understand since the second slot is pcie x8 both cards will run at x8 speeds which could be causing some slow downs. You also need to make sure that your PSU can handle both cards and that they are not overheating.
@@TheHowToGuy123 Thanks sooo much. for replying. My psu is Corsair RM 1000X PSU. and motherboard is asus rog strix x570 E-gaming. I really would love to understand what exactly could be the problem here and what I need to upgrade because I already bought the second GPU.. max power draw on my ups shows as 840 -880 even when both cards are put to test on octane bench.
Yeah on my BIOS menu I checked all the settings and there was no option for hdmi input on motherboard

thank you for showing this. I would have never figured it out otherwise!
Thanks, that really helped a lot. I didn't have any HDMI screen for myself, but I could borrow one to set my pc up. Thanks to you I can use my new pc til I get an adapter on my old screen that doesn't fit to any port on my graphics card. You saved my sunday ^^
I have a question. So I have a gigabyte radeon rx 570 4gb graphics card. And a aorus Z490 ultra motherboard both have HDMI.. Which one will be better to use?
i recommend you using the dedicated graphics card (the radeon) as it is more powerful than the integrated, also if you dont have a secondary monitor you should still activate integrated cause it will make your pc go a bit better..
Thank you someone who knows more than the basic update driver step! Thanks a lot boss !! It worked ! 🎉🎉
yes this did help a lot as new graphics card wasn’t showing my second monitor! thank you so much!
thank you so much, it worked for a display graphic perfectly, didnt have another hdmi slot in the video card, you helped me a lot
Question. Does having Integrated Graphics on my motherboard enabled affect how well my games run? The games that run off of the RAM and Processor. Not the GPU.
The integrated grapics are on the CPU and not the motherboard. Game performace will only be affected if you play the game on the monitor connected to the HDMI port on the motherboard, since it is being processed on the weaker integrated grapichs and not though your GPU.
@@TheHowToGuy123 My bad I meant to say CPU idk why I said motherboard lol. And good to know. Thanks.
Tanks, now can i use my Dual-Monitor setup!
Thanks bro for getting straight to the point
Thank you SO much, i can now watch films in 4K on a TV that is not compatible with the graphics card but worked via the motherboards in-build one AND play games on the 2nd monitor

TheHowToGuy123 Hey when i enter my lenovo bios and go into cpu options there is nothing that relates to "IGPU", "Internal graphics", "Enabled integrated graphics" or "cpu graphics multi monitor", I have searched everywhere in bios in different sections but there is nothing, I have searched on google but there is nothing, My CPU is a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G so yes it does have integrated graphics, I am on desktop.

Hey, I am an absolute idiot when it comes to computers and I figured no better place to ask than here:
is there any downside to enabling the port on the motherboard? and if not, is there any reason why it is usually disabled? (or is that to prevent people like me from connecting my main/only screen to the motherboard instead of the graphicscard)
Nice job, thank you for your help!
