"its all about saving their lives" is totally the same idea as our motorcycle cops in my country. they talked the same in tv documentary.

So the convoy of motorcycle cops i saw in the morning of april 28 2021 down by Tropicana Avenue to Sam boyd stadium is a motorcycle school?

I'm not LVMPD , I am motor trained for another large city dept on the east coast. Yes, they may be a class going out on a "city ride" where they take them on difficult roads to test what they've learned.

you can learn all this stuff on youtube and find a place to practice, invest a guard frame for your bike too.
It's not that hard as it look. few days practice will be fine.

1 Month... They are getting ONE month of training...
Sad that they have to try and make it sound like they're getting a lot of training when they're not. Just say that they get over half a million seconds of training.

Spoken like someone who's never been thru a police motor school in those hours, they learn more than 98% of the average rider will ever learn and ride courses tougher than the average rider will ever encounter. After the school, you continue to practice and build the skills you've been shown. And yes, I've been thru it an graduated with a score of 100% for the agency I work for. Knowledge is key and the knowledge to make a fair assessment is gained by doing the school

As a Harley ridder from Europe I do not understand why police in the US ar still riding Harley. The bikes are amazing, but there are far more efficiënt bikes for police officers.

Some police departments use BMWs. One of the reasons why most police departments use Harleys is, to support American brands, just like the patrol cars, Ford, Chevrolet, I have never seen Honda, Mercedes Benz or other foreign brands in police patrol cars

Yes, and in Europe they use BMW's, Mercedes, Volvo's cars that are way to expensive for US departments to buy even though MOST SUV's start at OVER $40,000 and climb very quickly from there.

MrJuvefrank there will always be accidents while learning how to ride, especially when you take a fat ass Harley and load it down with police equipment. You can replace the bags, pipes, and bars on the bike for cheap. Much more expensive for the department to pay their family if they die in service.
