Elyse, a year now from the brain injury and I wanted to express a heartfelt thanks. There are people in this world who make a difference to helping others❤, and you are one of them
Had a stroke 3 1/2 years ago and in the 3 weeks I've been using your routine I definitely feel a big difference. I especially like that you go thru the stretching and do the routines . Lots better than other sites
Thank you. Keep them coming. TBI nine years ago. The spasticity is very frustrating, always being very independent prior to injury. Keep pushing everyone. I know it is hard. Blessings,
❤Hi Elyse, I've been exercising with you for almost 2 years now. I noticed that the spasticity on my shoulder has been decreasing and improving. I know it's long way to go for recovery. 😊 Just want to thank you for sharing your videos.❤
I had largely given up on doing my exercises after I got kicked out of PT and OT. I watched your videos a few times this week, and been able to follow them. I appreciate how supportive you are to your viewers. Thank you so much for making these videos. You’re changing lives with each one you make, and your calming demeanor helps me as well
@heatherguill, I'm sorry to hear they kicked you out of your therapy. Ugh! But I am glad that you are finding some help in my videos. Are there any particular issues or topics you'd like to see videos on that would help you in your recovery?
@@PostStrokeOrg Yesterday when I receive Botox in my arm and leg the doctor told me the reason I can’t do supination is not due to town but just due to weakness. How do I combat that? Are you able to make a new video about that or reference one of your previous videos where you address that?
Thanks. Mum said she found this very helpful. She was extremely fearful throughout the video in case it went too hard or too fast but I slowed the video down a bit and she enjoyed it, and did her best. And so it continues ❤
Dear eliae i had stroke 7 months ago i uses your videos to help in my recovery since i cannot afford a therapist i can use my hand again and i am walking propely eveŕyday i am using it thank u very much

I had a stroke 3 weeks ago and have been declined from my insurance for service. But your exercises and stretches have really helped me. They are also welcoming and easy to follow.😊 Thank you for your service ❤
After 3 years post stroke, I have the feeling I have done everything humanly possible and now need a miracle. I just don't know what else to do to heal. These videos are very helpful. Thank you for the breath of comfort.
Thanks Elyse, please post more exercise to reduce spasticity in wrist, elbow, fingers. I agree that shoulder needs to be “freed” as well. This exercise helps me a lot cause i want to get rid off my hand spasticity but i dont know where to begin 😊❤️❤️❤️

I really appreciate your videos. Your delivery, organization, and the clear and concise information. One suggestion would be is to have current stroke recovery patients at various levels of recovery doing these exercises. I’d like to see modifications they employ. For example, #10 stretch I cannot move my fingers using the position you demonstrate, I have to pull open my fingers and ignore my thumb. Is there a better way? But, again, I appreciate all that you do to help us.
@jwebb753, Thank you for your kind words and feedback. I would love that as well, but I'm still taking precautions due to the pandemic. It is something that I would like to try in the future though! And as far as a modification, what you're doing is okay. This particular stretch may be a two-parter for you. So first stretch your fingers the way you have been, and then gently stretch your thumb, then repeat. I hope that helps! 😊
I just had a stroke three months ago with severe spasticity, just had Botox injection last week , Dr. Says take a week before med kick in. The tone and spacitscity is still very strong now ,came across your video ,and I fallowed it ,find it very helpful, and not too difficult to do.thank you

Hi Dr. Newland, I'm a recent graduate from OT school and passed the boards exam last month and I cannot wait to begin my journey as an entry level OT. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge! I have been watching your videos and they are so good! They are very straightforward and easy to follow. I love learning from you, especially with your expertise and specialization in stroke rehab. I look forward to working with the adult and geriatric population and these videos have been very informative and insightful. @nickyblando Thanks so much for your kind words! And a HUGE congrats for graduating and passing your boards!! I know you must be so relieved. As our OT mantra dictates, "It depends." haha Combining movements would typically be okay but it's always important to look at each of our clients individually to make sure we're best meeting their needs, their strengths, and their issues :)

Hi Jai. I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I hope you and your family are doing okay right now. Just so you know, I also have a video that shows caregivers how to stretch, which you may find helpful. ua-cam.com/video/g7OjxnaGFt4/v-deo.html You all take care. I wish your father the best in his recovery!
god bless you for taking care of your dad you are so lucky that you still have your dad , my dad and my grand father they are both gone now and all i can do for them is pray, i hope and pray that your dad be well , take care and be safe , god is good!!!
I am watching your videos and try to follow the steps for hand exercises I need to know how to protect shoulder blade seating I want exercises about shoulder problem
very well done video, like you did a voiceover and not just talked. superior quality and your voice is soothing. subbed and jotted down notes. for extension issues do you think these will be just as beneficial if my partner helps me stretch them where I have trouble alone doing them? like the turning wrist over one and swinging forearm out to side? adding these into my daily routine. hoping to recover my hand/finger usage from two strokes in 2021. six months of pushing myself hard in PT barely did a thing for it. luckily legs/shoulder fared much better
@headfirstrecords, Thanks so much for the kind words! ❤️ I absolutely think having your partner help with stretches will be beneficial, too! I actually made a video that walks through a caregiver guide to providing stretches: ua-cam.com/video/g7OjxnaGFt4/v-deo.html I'm so sorry to hear about your two strokes but hope you are doing well!
yep those are the two I struggle with. got a flat hand splint today and could barely get hand/fingers stop stop cupping enough to put straps on. had to remove straps position hand best as possible then try to lock each finger down we kind of got it to work and it is resting more flat than without it but not happy with it yet, gonna keep grinding away daily a few times a day but as of this moment pretty mad at my dumb hand
The rehabilitation method I'm writing about is based on the fact that in rehabilitation it is necessary to stretch the injured side, the stretching that I understand helps in addition to the Sirtons is to make a circular movement many times for a long time, reaching the head and the leg. The circular movement of the head and at the same time of the hand, directly affects the hand and the ankle. I am not a doctor, I have no education in the field, absolutely nothing. This is my personal experience .Thank you .
@rinaramirez, I'm so glad that this video has been working well for you! Research shows that doing a daily stretching routine can help to manage spasticity. I'm also planning a video for hip spasticity stretches, which you may find helpful, too :) Thank you for commenting!
Hi, I have Stoke 2 months now and I do all your exercises everyday. Ones doing the exercises everyday make me go into recovery faster? My family think I'm rushing it because I do the exercises everyday.
@katewood, As a general recommendation, I'd say at least once per day consistently. I'd recommend asking your physician (or therapist if you're still in therapy) for more individualized recommendations!

very well done video, like you did a voiceover and not just talked. superior quality and your voice is soothing. subbed and jotted down notes. for extension issues do you think these will be just as beneficial if my partner helps me stretch them where I have trouble alone doing them? like the turning wrist over one and swinging forearm out to side?
adding these into my daily routine. hoping to recover my hand/finger usage from two strokes in 2021. six months of pushing myself hard in PT barely did a thing for it. luckily legs/shoulder fared much better
@headfirstrecords, Thanks so much for the kind words! ❤️ I absolutely think having your partner help with stretches will be beneficial, too! I actually made a video that walks through a caregiver guide to providing stretches:

I'm so sorry to hear about your two strokes but hope you are doing well!
yep those are the two I struggle with. got a flat hand splint today and could barely get hand/fingers stop stop cupping enough to put straps on. had to remove straps position hand best as possible then try to lock each finger down we kind of got it to work and it is resting more flat than without it but not happy with it yet, gonna keep grinding away daily a few times a day but as of this moment pretty mad at my dumb hand
Very useful for me.. I can feel the improvement on my affected hand.. thanks for your videos ❤️

This is my personal experience
.Thank you .
Thank you so much they are so easy to follow I try your exercises and my body feels so good I feel relaxed and the muscles they do loosen up Thank you
@rinaramirez, I'm so glad that this video has been working well for you! Research shows that doing a daily stretching routine can help to manage spasticity. I'm also planning a video for hip spasticity stretches, which you may find helpful, too :) Thank you for commenting!

How many times per day would you suggest these stretches take place each day for optimum results ?
@katewood, As a general recommendation, I'd say at least once per day consistently. I'd recommend asking your physician (or therapist if you're still in therapy) for more individualized recommendations!
Hello
Thanks to you I have made significant progress in rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, there is no progress in the movement of the wrist. Is it worth doing Botox Thanks.
LOVE THIS CHannel!
