John 5's playing is otherworldly. This dude NEVER ceases to amaze me. He can literally play any style you throw at him and absolutely kill it. G.O.A.T.
And SO fucking humble! Stating that he was so lucky to join Motley Crue when in reality he has more talent in his little finger than that whole band combined. Seriously.

Everyone shreds...everyone blasts...but very very very few can be creative, and original, and musical, and blast, and shred all at the same time. John5 can, and does. He's always a pleasure to listen to...and equally entertaining to watch.
You have any idea how hard it is to stand out from all the other guitar players after all these decades? We've all heard the best of the best guitarists all our lives. This guy is still somehow levels above. Truly amazing.
Guitar became a thing very common world wide with many guitarrists around, so its indeed amazing to stand Over. And there are many good Ones without exposure.

You don't seem to listen to lot of guitarists. There are a lot of guitarists that are easily better than John 5. Also his music playing seems overdone, nothing interesting really.
@@okplld There's listening, and then there is listening with a musical ear. While there are obviously better guitarists technically, saying John 5 is "overdone" and "nothing interesting" is completely false. He's created a unique style melding bluegrass, country hybrid-picking and metal all into one. It's incredibly difficult to develop a unique style in this day and age, he's one of the few who actually has.
John 5 still blows me away after all these years. He is one of the GOAT and what many instrumental guitarist fails to be.
Yeah, he's great but he's not the goat. Vai, Satriani, even Tim Henson, are insanely better

John 5 can play anything... any style of music. Not a lot of so-called GOATs can do that. I have all of John 5's solo stuff and they are an eclectic mix of multiple styles of music.
He is one of my favs... some others: Gus G, Andy James, Jason Richardson, and Synyster Gates.
There's a child-like innocence to John's playing which is very endearing and also has a sense of optimism about it. You can tell he loves the guitar and just wants to share the joy with everyone. It's a beautiful thing.
Ive seen him say elsewhere that he really just wanted to make it playing music. Like to make it playing ANY music, maybe that's what your picking up on.
That picking is next level, John 5 is a legend.

I own 6 of Johns solo cd's. His music is real hit and miss with me. I might love 1 or 2 songs on a cd but then I dont like the rest. This is a hit for me.
I do not know how this man does this! I'm an old AF metalhead, heard it all. John, ALWAYS managed to shift the overton window on guitar. Whenever he fucking wants to. Respect.
What a guitarist!! Totally amazing.....in a class by himself......unique style of his own like beck or blackmore...all others can sit back and watch..easily in the top 5 of ALL time.

John 5 = legend! Can play any key in any style. Just unreal! For you guitar players I found it interesting he was on the neck pickup the whole time.
I saw Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie this past summer in Dallas. Without John 5 playing with Rob Zombie, I got bored and left halfway through the show -- if it was even that long into it. Rob's new guitar player just stood in one spot and kept looking down at this fret board. I was 17th row, too, so it's not like I was far away from the stage and missing out on things. Without seeing John perform, I became just as bored as the guitar player that night. John, you're such a great human being and a fascinating guitar player. I look forward to seeing you at the Granada Theater in February 2024.

This is one of the more listenable instrumental guitar things I've heard in a while. Tasty techy bits are always most pleasing. I'm inspired to try to borrow a few bits into my own playing.
lm 60+. Been playing all my life. 20+ years ago l said all these hard rock guys no matter what the shred level are just chasing Ministry like those little fish that swim with a shark to get their scraps. l still stand by that. Al's a genius. l met him at his ranch in Texas 30+ years ago. l dont care if they play like max Ostro l stand by that. Somehow he continues to chart the maps these dudes navigate by.

You know what I really dig about John 5, is that he seems to be a genuinely nice dude with hella skills and who worked his bass off to make it, yet is still himself and not afraid to admit he is who he is…. It makes a person way way more powerful to be the actual truth of themselves, and also remaining humble even at the top

JOhn has to be one of the most underrated musicians ever. What makes a GOAT is someone you can put in any band in any era and their chops will hang with anybody. John Number Cinco is one of them.
