Not only a great teacher but also a great singer. Chords, strumming patterns, teaching, singing, etc. My lord you have it all which is why I like your site & i’m sure thousands of others do. If you want to learn a song on guitar you need not go anywhere else. This lady has it all. Excellent!!!
Love your stuff! I am a career Helicopter pilot and am just now learning to play guitar at 62. People tell me I am learning very quickly as I have only been playing since July and I am already finger picking and Jammin'. I watch several tutorial sites, but I really like yours. As a Helicopter pilot/instructor I realize that there is a difference between just saying words and actually teaching something. 2 people can say the exact same sentence and yet one makes sense and the other does not. That is what makes a true teacher. You are a true teacher and I thank you for helping me to achieve a dream I have had my whole life. Sometimes I start following you and I can't believe I am actually doing it. Bravo!
Congratulations, you've got another fan in their 70's. I really appreciate they way you don't mind getting technical as needed, and the way you are so comfortable singing as part of a fun musical experience. I'm so happy that I found you when I was studying Amie by Pure Prairie League. Live long and prosper Maestro.
Still love that Crafter guitar, I recently got a Crafter guitar. I went into a music shop looking for a Taylor, then I found this trade in Crafter acoustic, I played it and fell in love with it. It sounded and felt the best, such under rated guitars.
There are two acoustic guitars playing the intro. According to legend songwriter/musician Phil Sloan, who was sitting in on the "California Dreaming" sessions, came up with the intro.
Lovely song: great lesson. The intro into that E chord is such a lovely sound. Hazel English has a recent cover of this song out, which is real nice- just a bit more modern sounding.
A+ LB and enjoyed the vocals. I think ( no cards or letters please) that John Phillips may have used a 12 string for the intro? It is a good 12 string song.
@@LaurenBateman Oh really Taylor!! Sorry! You know, this guitar is so pretty. I have a PRS Tonare, also with beautiful birds on the fretboard. I teach the guitar in Hungary, and I watch your videos for ideas.🙏😄 Thanks for your work!
The hardest part of learning a song for me is always the strumming pattern. I don't know why exactly, I just really struggle with strumming. But the rest is pretty easy for me.
great video Lauren ! thank you very much ! just thought i might let you know ( am not sure) but i think you just might have the wrong chord progression for the middle instrumental flute solo section of the song ? when i transpose your chords back to the key of C sharp minor the original key for this song and when I play your chords in the key of C Sharp minor with C sharp minor key chords on the piano along with the notes of the flute solo on my piano as a piano solo with both hand i find that the notes of the chords still sound out of tune and out of key when mixed with the notes of the flute solo/piano solo for some reason ? i am just going with what my ears are telling me and my ears are telling me that it goes C sharp minor (with capo on 4th fret of guitar it is A minor ) then to E major or E7 (with capo on 4th fret of guitar it is C major) then to A Major (with capo on 4th fret of guitar it is F major) then to G Sharp Major (with capo on 4th fret of guitar it is E major or E7) then the rest carrys on exactly the way you have got it for the last 2 lines of the chord progresson (with capo on 4th fret of guitar) the last 2 lines of the chord progression i think goes from A minor to G to A minor to G to E major or E7sus4 then like you say it most likely goes to A minor to G major to F major to G Major to E major or E7sus4 I think as that is what my ears are telling me as i have tried playing the flute solo over the top of my chords on the piano for the middle instrumental flute solo section and this sounds right to me as the notes i am playing in my right hand from the flute solo on the piano are actually blending in pretty well with the notes and chords that i am actually playing with my left hand on the piano and sounds in key and in tune :) so if it sounds in tune and in key on the piano it should sound in tune and in key when you transpose it to the key of A minor and play A minor key chord shapes and slap a capo on the 4th fret of the guitar totranspose it back and play it back in the key of original C Sharp Minor key with Capo on the guitar ! :) hope this helps ! :)

He may have.

Or is this more comfortable?

Taylor? It's still around. But I still love my Crafter.

11th and 7th. Drop 12&9th. Just watch the vid, I'm going off memory.
Love this song but your going way to fast! Is there the chord chart somewhere i.can print it out
The regular chord chart is on my site BUT you can also slow me down using the UA-cam settings cog in the lower right hand of the video. Try 75% speed.

Do you have a Led Zeppelin rain tutorial? I googled it with your name and nothing came up
None as of the moment but I will keep this suggestion in mind :D
Dear how can we play without capo
You'd have to transpose the tune
@@LaurenBateman i dont know how to do this
Tuning ? open E ? or Standard?
Thanks for watching! Standard tuning and capo at the 4th fret
Teenage mutant ninja turtles! Heros in a half shell turtle power! ....sorry I got distracted I'll get back to practicing
