I’m starting with zero DJ experience and just bought my first controller, the DDJ FLX4 and was ready to get started learning. You basically held my hand though this whole process and I couldn’t thank you enough!

I love EDM and I love finding mixes I can just leave on in the background while I'm doing my daily tasks. At some point, I got curious about the art of mixing and making my own mixes. This led me to looking online at the gear and software and eventually I found Crossfader and have loved how you guys breakdown the gear and teach the craft. Knowing me, I've not wanted to buy equipment I might use once and then have sit in a corner collecting dust for ages because my ADHD just can't stand not getting instant gratification. This video is perfect for getting me started with what I already have, namely the PC on my desk.

You can mix with just an iPad, was doing that a decade ago with iPad4; besides, you can use EQing for a proper mix and even FXes. I did also mixed once with a laptop about 8 years ago and did the EQing as well (at list on the bass level)

In this video you're describing Beats and Bars - could you "explain" the Beats and Bars on ANY TOOL Song? I know that their songs are NOT every 4, 8, 12, 16 etc - as you are describing here. If you listen to any TOOL song you will understand what I'm talking about.

Why isn't any of my apple music supported by rekordbox? All of my songs have that red circle by it and also doens't show any music when I type in a song. Do you have a solution for this so I can start practicing?

Is there a way to map controls on keyboard? Using a mouse only, limits the tricks one can do in the software.
Yeah you can map anything to any key. If you go into rekordbox settings then go to the keyboard tab there are all the options there
You can also Midi Map controls/functions onto a Midi device you happen to have lying around also

VDJ is far better choice and is already mapped to the keyboard. But a controller is the only way forward.
