    Yum! My dad used to make these whenever he felt like throughout the year. They were so satisfyingly salty and tasty.

    My mother in law will be 90 in January & still makes these for xmas. My favorite are the anchovie ones but the kids like them plain & sprinkled with sugar. Believe it or not, my father taught me how to make these with sultanas when I was 10. He was Sicillian. Beautiful job Nonna Antoniette. Thank you Rossella.

    zepole :) i want to surprise my dad making these with anchovies on Christmas Eve!
    The plain ones can be rolled in cinnamon and sugar mix right after you fry each one.

    i love all the nonna's but this one is great,she really knows her stuff.she should have a show on the food channel!!. cant wait for our christmas eve feast,i love baccala.buona natale to you rosella and your wonderful nonna romana.heres to more great videos in the upcoming new year!thanks for all you do to keep our italian traditions alive!

    My grandma only made these with raisins. I never realized you could put the anchovies and vocals in them too! Thank you for this!

    We call these crespedi, never tried with baccala though ! I usually help Nonna make these on Christmas Eve!

    my mother's step mother was Abrusese. Her sister Aunt Annie or as we called her An Tanni were amazing cooks & bakers. they made them plain and called them crispelle and my mother ate them cold Christmas morning

    My mother makes these with anchovies and some with raisins. The raisin ones are delicious

    I have been aquainting myself with my Barese roots. my mother's cousin in New Jersey is 100 & I'm sure she isn't doing her specialties & her daughter (2nd cuz) is 73 & may not be into those things. I'm engulfed in you & YR nonna Romana I feel like I have some 1 to relate to. no 1 in my family likes or cares to remember all those goodies but when I make them they all monte

    Always check the EXP Dates on your Yeast before Other wise it will be a wasted dough Recipe etc

    Or you could just put and leave the light on in the oven the heat will keep at that hundred degrees range.

    If you wait too long to turn them they will absorb too much oil on one side...thats why the dont want to flip later. Learned the hard way!

    After I make some plain ones I then mix in the Fish right into the Dough Batter and fry them like that they come out great also doing it that way TIP Chop up the fish into small peices will come out better also etc

    Rosella is trying to act way too Italian. I came over with my family at 10 in 1955 and none of of us act like she does.
