Laughed so hard on reaction of my message "try dash and then try beating to the pulp". What are the chances BassPlays would get my random message! Maybe it's 'cause at the time I am trying my first Soul Level 1 run and you just started DS3 and so we are kinda at the same soul level... But I am glad that in the end the message made sense! Keep on keeping on! Great content
For the firekeeper gestures [32:24]: What's worked for me is interacting with her first (just opening her menu then closing it). Some gestures don't do anything, but I know the bowing gesture has a response. It was really cool to discover it organically in my first playthrough. Nice job on Vordt. The first two bosses were a big adjustment for me after DS2 combat. You're doing way better than I did.
You were supposed to get a uchi gatana from the naked guy at the start but you pushed him off. You can go pick it up if you reload the area where he fell off from
Good job with Vordt. Glad to see his chilly attitude didn't leave you in the cold. His weapon also isn't all that bad; not bad at all. But you need to beat up a tree for boss weapons. I know the next one is already out (I was slow on the draw this time) so I don't actually know what you've accomplished. Just watch, I know that you have already discovered every secret in the next area and absolutely didn't make a fool of yourself at any point. :D
First death by greed-infused gravity. It's a Dark Souls alright. Second death by gravity again. Because why not. Kick is forward + light attack. Must press both at once. Flick the stick ! The short-decriptions are not very descriptive because they are short descriptions. Crazy right ? Check the extended description. You got pretty lucky in your exploration. Opening doors on the right side, picking the key before finding the locked door. Running right away to the next bonefire when SO MANY miss it. Your Dark Souls senses are TINGLING ! Do emote waif- I mean, the firekeeper ! Bow in front of her ! Wave at her ! Make silly dances for her ! She deserve it ! You actually already can use most of the special gem you found. Andre can already infuse them but you gonna need additionnal items to make more advanced infusion. Though you probably won't need it : heavy gem is all you need if you follow the way of the UNGA BUNGA. Still, backstab is good and all but it's still missing a bit of PARRY action there ! Making a critical after parrying (or guard breaking, hello kick !) deal more damage than backstabbing !
Hey Bass Dark Souls 3 was the blueprint for Elden Ring which is why they feel oddly similar gameplay wise. Also The summon sign colour doesn't indicate real player or NPC, the colour of the sign indicates the covenant they are in, white is a normal sign, gold is Warrior of Sunlight which is praise the sun, purple is Mound makers now Mound makers are unique as they can choose to help you or the can attack and try to kill you, but Mound Makers also get attacked by enemies in the environment without a seed of a tree of giants and then you have the red sign which summons an invader.
The deep axe is considered a good early game weapon. Even folks who play low lvl PvP chars often use gently levelled deep axe. Many creatures and players don't have much resistance early game to dark damage, so give it some consideration if you're already using an axe.👍
High Wall of Lothric may be my favourite area of any souls game. Could be because this was my first souls game, but I love how the area looks and plays.
Huntercharm is not only for pvp it also opens Mimics /set them to sleep so you can loot it with out killing. Fireband shrine tower might still be a thing for you to get on top of the shrine tower. (not just the roof) Kick attack (against Shilds) move forward +ligth attack Greyrat the Thief want so to give the Ring to Loretta in the undead settlement and the teleport animation means he is at fire link where you can talk to him The effect vord of the Boreal Valley gives you ist frostbite. once full for a moment you take more dmg and your stamina regen is reduced but you are not slowed You can attack illusion walls but also roll into it. but a does not work anymore You can attack illusion walls but also roll into it. but A button does not work anymore
FYI, the silver kite shield has the special ability that instead of parrying, when you left trigger, it uses the weapon skill on the right hand weapon. Shields that let you use weapon skills have the sword icon. Shields that parry have the circle icon.
The undead hunter charm can put Mimics to sleep, allowing you to loot the chest. They’ll wake when you hit them though. So you can sometimes loot them and then kill them and get more loot.
The only extra loot you can get is a random chance drop which you can reroll on any mimic by repeatedly putting them to sleep, checking for the drop and then waiting for the charm to wear off before repeating until you get that specific item.
The tree skip is totally a thing, otherwise they would have patched it out by now. The fact the tree has a very obvious notch where you're supposed to jump is telling. The most obvious tell is that you can still trade with Pickle-Pee underneath it's nest without actually needing to go up top.
25:45 At the bottom of the screen there's the "Show item info" prompt. You can use it to toggle the display of items to show more information/stats about them. In this case, you can use it to expand the description and get more clues as to the lore/context and how to use the item. That goes for all items, it's always a good idea to read the descriptions of keys, weapons, armor, spells, etc.
Greirat is essencial for the journey cause he is a merchant. While you progress the game he keeps getting more and more items. His story is trully sad and exciting i would sugest trying to maintain him alive. Also would love to see you do Siegwards journey
Fun Fact: Grind some souls to buy a bow and 60 arrows and keep hitting that dragon from a safe spot to make it fly away or use up all your souls and do a sucide run on the dragon balcony, spam heal and loot up the claymore there. One of the best early game strength weapons.
@BassPlays902 Also, Andre upgrades your Estus this time around. Give him Estus Shards you find and burn Undead Bone Shards at Firelink bonfire for making your Estus more powerful, Andre gives you more sips of Sunny D
Drake (not Dragons) Lore: lothric fought drakes and the dead Drakes attacked Lothric castel because they got drakes and tried domesitcate them. yay you did the tree jump glad you got the loot there also euastas shards upgrade your flasks at the blacksmith and undead bone shards can be used at the bonfire at firelink to make your flasks better and heal a bit more
As yes, the crystal lizard bamboozle. We've all been there, you have my condolences. Also...fall damage in this game is wild regardless, I highly recommend the cat ring when you find it.
I don’t know if it’s been mentioned before but the in the first menu (that you bring up when going for the inventory or weapons, where the dark sign is located) there are four shortcut slots. I recommend You to upgrade your deep axe to +3, if want go to +5 or even 6. It will serve you pretty good, some enemies get destroyed by dark attribute. but over all it is weak weapon, not worth of maxing out. Another option is getting "frosty sword" early. But it 1-hander and not your style. Same recommendation for dragon as in DS1 - go get a bow if you want to harass that fellow. It's very helpful. Dragon will provide "meh" drops, but it guarding some shiny thing, better check out! Some nasty enemies are very accepting piercing dmg. Also BOW helping get some LOOT, always have some arrows.

hi just wanted to say i've watch the previous video and you killed the samourai guy next to the firelink shrine but didn't go back for is sword he didn't drop it cuz he fell into the abyss but if you rest the sword will be where he usely spawn and good luck for the game man
29:05 That golden summon sign you saw was a sun bro, not an npc. If you are with the warrior of the sunlight covenant, then your summon sign will be gold as well, not white. It's just for co-op, mostly found before you enter boss rooms. If the area boss is defeated, you help reward them with a sunlight medal, then they return to their world. ALSO if you equip Way Of The Blue covenant, it would be beneficial if you like staying embered. Being embered opens you to invasions, and with that covenant equipped, a darkmoon blade (different covenant) can be automatically summoned to your world to help you defeat the invader. Red invader will always be your enemy, but purple can choose to help you, or to wreck you. My bad for the rant, I wish somebody explained all this stuff to me when I first started. Ds3 multiplayer is alot of fun bro 👌🏼👍🏼
This just the beginning, this will be the great long journey. yeah dont miss the NPC, some of them have great story and journey with you like our sunbro solaire, dont miss it. Most enemy in this game weak to fire, but there are some that are resistant to fire make fire upgrade useless. Lets go !!

Telling you that this boss along with the Nameless King were the ones that gave me the most work in the entire base game. I just wasn't used to the speed and aggression of the enemies yet. As DS3 is the most linear in the franchise, the few tips I give so far are to explore well, defeat enemies in search of a good item or weapon and avoid boss spoilers. Another thing: when you arrive at an open swamp (perhaps at the end of the next video) where you will find some giant crabs, the path will branch into two: going down a staircase to the poison area or going up to the Cathedral. I suggest going down to face the boss of this poison area and then going back and going up to the Cathedral. In the Cathedral there is a key item that you will need to use later on. The Cathedral is a dead-end area, meaning the way forward is through the Poison Swamp. But before you think "So why don't I go to the Cathedral first, get the key and go straight down to the swamp if that's where I have to go anyway?". Well, it turns out that if you explore the entire Cathedral and finally return to the poison area, the boss there will be extremely easy and if you go there with him first, the fight will be much better if you face him in a balanced way. In short: go down towards the poison area, face the boss, go back and go up towards the Cathedral, face the boss there, go back and follow the swamp area path. It's just a suggestion. Otherwise, don't worry, because Dark Souls 3 offers a lesson in learning and evolving the power of character and enemies
if you need more embers you can invade and kill the host just incase you didn’t know for the npc’s dialogue and after invading you should talk to him again
I played this game with Dex build with low hp where if emberless I would've got 2 hit killed xD Yet you have so much hp xD Also the deep axe you got from the mimic does dark dmg + more dmg to undead iirc.
I am opening a betting pool on how much npcs/secrets will Bass miss this run: I bet 100 potatoes on at least 20% 😁Also, some here in the comments are cruel and are trying to lure u into an early fight with a fun boss - so do not kill the npc in the church Bass, your reaction would be hilarious, but as you don't know where u should go first, progressing in such a way could mess up several npc questlines. Most ppl take that approach only on their 2nd playthrough.
Just a quick breakdown of gems: Heavy = Better Str scaling, Sharp= Better dex Refined=Quality Raw=No scaling, but a bit higher starting damage . Then there's a bunch of elemental and Int/faith scaling gems, but it looks like you're mostly going physical at this point, so I'll keep it 'short.'
You’re dumb.
Best comment of the year by far!

Falling to my death is what I do this game.
DS3 the op build is Dex/Twin swords. But I know you love your bonk builds
raw infusion is pretty good for early game
I played this game with Dex build with low hp where if emberless I would've got 2 hit killed xD Yet you have so much hp xD
Also the deep axe you got from the mimic does dark dmg + more dmg to undead iirc.
Did you took the loot of the "máster" on firelink? Theres an old friend
Yes I did that is so cool!
Do you have "hit em with it" merch?
It is in the works haha
Use those estus shards
Yellow summons in all the games are just people in the sunbro covenant so white ones can be real people too :)
Oh gotcha!
gz on first try Vork kill im impressed i struggle even as someone who played for yrs
Thank ya!
You need to buy the key for the other part of the area.
In the next vid lol
you can kill multiplayer dude for his cool mask after he gives you a key or before if you dont care much for invading people
"make haste",does bro know?
I am opening a betting pool on how much npcs/secrets will Bass miss this run: I bet 100 potatoes on at least 20% 😁Also, some here in the comments are cruel and are trying to lure u into an early fight with a fun boss - so do not kill the npc in the church Bass, your reaction would be hilarious, but as you don't know where u should go first, progressing in such a way could mess up several npc questlines. Most ppl take that approach only on their 2nd playthrough.
Thanks for the heads up!
Quick question cause I'm thinking of it now, whats everyones favorite cake?
Honestly carrot cake has been a lifelong fave of mine. Cheesecake is my #1 tho
Red velvet lol and if you think it's just chocolate that's painted red you'd be right but it's my favXD
For me its black forest gateau.
Cake makes me feel really sick sadly
But cheese cake doesnt
female cake
Just a quick breakdown of gems: Heavy = Better Str scaling, Sharp= Better dex Refined=Quality Raw=No scaling, but a bit higher starting damage . Then there's a bunch of elemental and Int/faith scaling gems, but it looks like you're mostly going physical at this point, so I'll keep it 'short.'
Thanks for the tip! Strength is the way haha
If you hit the expensive barrels with throwing knifes they explode.
The 30th anniversary of Kings Field just passed. Hint hint. 😉
I wanna put that on the channel one day no worries haha
This is a video early, but rolling does still indeed open illusory walls. Not that weapon durability matters in ds3
Where's the first vid?
In the playlist
Damn this is making me nostalgic xD Also can we invade you
You can if you find me haha
You can roll into illusionary walls
Which is a shame kinda cause that would have made durability somewhat relevant
Trust me, you totally don't need to care about durability in this game. Unless you use a katana.
10:08 it's a hawk, not a crow
My bad lol
Wth is that hp bar
Love it
