Just a cool thing they added on this game. If you hear the bells ringing when your playing online, it means someone playing the game has just rang the bell. Such a great thing to put in a game.

It really reinforces that "transient being" aspect of the multiplayer. Anybody you meet online, whether they're white phantoms out for some jolly cooperation or a dark spirit looking to take your humanity, is only there by chance, for a small period of time. Works a lot better when it's a bunch of strangers who happen upon eachother (like when the game first came out) than a group of friends banking together or the same fifty invaders who have been there for over a decade.
He is surely watching walthrough...this is no way a first time player...the way he fought tauras deamon..return back from dark root basin and didnt try to beat havel and going for the loot near firelink shrine.he surely got some external help
@@themangastand8475 personally that depends on the person and how you started, if you did with elden ring and played it 100% you got the basics down and than the other souls games feel easier for you. i started with ds1 and personally still harder than elden ring, both games you can cheese definitley but, ds1 gives you much less options to go a different route
@@wizart2100 elden ring wasn't my first souls game. Demon souls from 2009 was. But I skipped DS1 and ds2. And Demon souls is still one of the easiest from games if not the easiest. Dark souls 1 is the second easiest. The last boss is a joke with how easy he is to parry, and the dlc boss has a crazy combo but I still beat him in three tries because he seems slow compared to elden ring bosses. Elden ring bosses are on roids if you don't use summons or any op buffs. It doesn't matter if DS1 is restrictive if almost every boss I beat on my first try. Orstein and Smough are the only somewhat challenging boss.

FYI, this is even true in Elden Ring, two-handing weapons gives you 1.5x Strength. So if you two-handed that Zweihander you'd effectively have 24 strength which is just enough.
Yeah and the difference unique to Dark Souls 1, is that you get additional bonus dmg from 2-handing, which isn't a thing in DS 3 or Elden Ring. (Makes 2-handing a better choice like 99% of the time in DS 1, even without STR scaling).
@@mirkovtz40 I don't think it's even possible to test that easily in Elden Ring, because as far as I know all weapons in Elden Ring have some form of scaling with STR, unlike Dark Souls 3.
14:31 "knowing you can go to it" - today you'd expect this. Back in the day, when I played this the first time - you wouldn't believe how blown away I was, realizing, that I actually got "there" - a piece of the level I've only seen as scenery, not even having hopes of actually getting there.
This is why i never really recommend master key for first-time playthroughs. Normally the game gates you from going to wrong way by either: Enemies being way to hard, or doors being unopenable. With master key, you can just wander into areas you should be fighting like 30 levels later lmao

Insane black knight shield pull! Pro-tip black knight weapons are easily the best in the game and can be pretty rare drops since the knights don’t respawn.
I watched two entire videos of you - really enjoying it! But I can't get rid of the feeling that this is not your first time on DS1 :D. Dodging the ball in the asylum, falling down the elevator, doing a loot run in the graveyard, dodging the barrel in undead burg using the ladder for a plunging attack on taurus demon and so on :D these are no typical first time DS1 player moves.

Also, awesome that you found the zweihander but don't worry, you only need 16 strength to two hand the zweihander, 24 strength is just to one hand it. Great going for now. Also, I like your editing skills, pretty funny and they are of really high quality.

It's ridiculous how in almost every first DS playthrough i saw, people always chose to explore the graveyard and the bottom stairs over chosing to just go up stairs for the actual "correct" way. And of course, they end up suffering 😂
When I played Dark Souls as the first title in the series, I quite literally didn't see the stairs up, I think it was also very blurry graphics and the same colour as the background lmao. New Londo had seemingly invulnerable ghosts, so I just ran over and over to the graveyard, because since I've heard that Dark Souls is very hard, i just thought that's how difficult the enemies are supposed to be! lol I never found the stairs by myself, I quit for a year and returned only after I saw a playthrough somewhere.
Ah yes, because going on a random, hidden side path is much more likely to be chosen by new players than going forward and exploring what’s actually visible to the player.

you can jump by pressing the run button again while already running also at 11:00 that aqueduct if you jump over there later on you'll find a merchant selling boss armours

The fog walls, like in Demon's Souls, are not necessarily to indicate a boss room. They're meant to unnerve you. They phased it out to just the boss rooms over time. But I remember my first playthrough of Demon's Souls when I was a kid. There was always some kind of new challenge or obstacle behind a fog wall, and I would always hesitate before going into one.
19:11 when you broke that barrel a lizard comes out of it, if you kill it it gives some important weapon upgrade stuff but it runs too fast and disappears after a while you can go back to the same spot after resting at a bonfire to kill it
"I don't want to read the messages! I want to sit at the bonfire!" I was having this experience in Diablo 2 the other day. "I don't want to attack the enemy, I want to pick up the rare loot!"
Jumping before elden ring was such a weird thing, gotta like double tap the roll button while sprinting or some such nonsense, dont remember the exact controls, been a while since i ventured back to dark souls
Watching these videos is making me realize how much I have missed on my first playthrough lol, right now I'm at anor londo and never knew how to get to the valley of the drakes or new londo ruins.
A few tips if noones mentioned it yet, you can parry while blocking so you dont need to catch the animation perfectly to parry, and if you want to see if a weapon does more damage overall hit y while in the menu to switch and itll show you the damage if you switched to it, and it changes with 2 handing. Also force is good for early game crowd control
I too ended up at the graveyard first and spent an hour getting my cheeks clapped. Just assumed it was just how hard the game was till I looked on Reddit and found it is a place for later on.
First, the Black Knight Shield (one of the best shields in the game), and then the Demon's Greataxe right after. If he gets the Black Knight ********* first try or the Mask of "HIM" in this run, this man needs to go to vegas.
It does look funky, but at least we can see everything. When you start going into dark castles or caves, it'll be nice for the audience to be able to make out things.
They're the only two bosses, although maybe Gwyn can count, that start to feel like the newer games. Nearly every other boss is more like a big puzzle, or a giant mindless creature that does big slow telegraphed attacks.

Even after finishing it you're gonna learn new shit, the new game+ is way harder, I defeated the last boss in 30 seconds in the normal run, in the NG+ 3 normal enemies from the burg made me their sandbag because I was so OP in normal game that I forgot this was Dark Souls.
I started my first play this month and it was uncanny how similar we were. I went to Blighttown and Darkroot Basin early with the master key. And got one shot by Havel and the Zombie Dragon.

I can't tell you how many times I had to kill black knights just to get the whole set, pretty sure 12 or 13 tries were for the shield alone

If I'm understanding you, hold alt to bring up item name boxes you can click to pick stuff up.
Please for all that is holy: talk with NPCs more than once. They have multiple dialogues, sometimes even 3-4 of them

Loose the shield and drop some weight. For the zweihander dual hand it and it will be usable, when you dual hand it basically doubles your strength.

It does look funky, but at least we can see everything. When you start going into dark castles or caves, it'll be nice for the audience to be able to make out things.

They're the only two bosses, although maybe Gwyn can count, that start to feel like the newer games. Nearly every other boss is more like a big puzzle, or a giant mindless creature that does big slow telegraphed attacks.

@@BassPlays902 Absolutely... Yesterday I finished the game for the first time ever (It's my first Soul, I played the Prepare to Die Edition tho, pirate of course, I don't have money), and bro... Even after finishing it you're gonna learn new shit, the new game+ is way harder, I defeated the last boss in 30 seconds in the normal run, in the NG+ 3 normal enemies from the burg made me their sandbag because I was so OP in normal game that I forgot this was Dark Souls.
No mimic tear in this but sure is mimic their 😂

I started my first play this month and it was uncanny how similar we were. I went to Blighttown and Darkroot Basin early with the master key. And got one shot by Havel and the Zombie Dragon.
