Hey Bass! Avid fan and viewer here. I’d like to share some advice to help you maximize your damage output-no spoilers, of course! Tip 1: You can two-hand your main weapon to deal more damage when you don’t need to use your shield in certain situations. It can be really handy! Tip 2: Your axe’s weapon art isn’t just for performing a unique continuous attack-it also gives you a damage buff, as shown on your HUD. Combine these two tips, and you’ll be taking down enemies left and right in no time. Love your videos!!!
KNOW THE PAIN THAT IS HODRICK! This guy was the bane of my early game my first time through; then I learned his weakness. But now, as a dedicated Mound Maker, seeing you get broken over his knee was satisfying. 31:57... the mound makers are displeased. 43:41 that's Hodrick. If you rode in that one guys cage (before the tree broke the floor) you would go down there and could join the mound makers. At 15:01 you were looking at a secret path under that bridge. It leads to one of your stated desires for this run. Now you can give little Ludleth the kiln (on his throne in Firelink). I like the lore of DS3 in how so many people in game have lied and are actively lying; but about what? And for what? Always happy to see your vids pop up. :D
It's easy to miss, but what's sad is the very next time you go back to firelink shrine, if you go to see Greirat, he's curled up and just repeats the "Good heavens, she was already dead..." line if you talk to him. Then he's recovered next time you go to firelink, but Loretta clearly was important to him...
31:55 the Rubbish item you looted, and thanked for, was actually the game trolling you. In fact, that mob was not aggressive and you could have entered his cage, unlocked a secret cutscene and be transported into the secret pit area under the Greatwood boss before the fight where you could have spoken to the real Hodrik (the purple invading npc that you found dead after the bossfight) and received his covenant entry-item. Well, too bad, it will be for another run.
You can push square on an item in your inventory to get a more detailed description if you're into that. Some of those one line descriptions are impossible to decipher.
parrying depends on what shield you're using. In the corner of your shield image is a little icon. The sword icon means it uses the weapon art of your right hand weapon, whereas a circle icon means it can parry. A square shield icon means it does a shield bash.
31:54 you can actually hop into his back cage (secret side quest). Just need to walk slowly until interact button appear. But only work bfr you kill the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss.
15:20 Bass : I'mma gonna explore EVERYWHERE ! Scrub every corner ! Also bass : *Miss the hidden passage he was staring at while saying all that* You also miss the other, closer bonefire but frankly he's so hidden I'm not surprised you miss it. Not even taking into account your... huh, let's say "tendency" to miss bonefire in DS2. Let's just say it involve a bridge and looking down.
You, sir, have an innate ability to meticulously search areas where there are no secrets and totally gloss over the areas where there are :) I'm only a quarter of the way through, though. I'm sure you'll find em.
"Greatwood" "Hit the Baaallss" Sad that shackles can be exchanged on the rooftop crow to get lucatiel mask if i not mistaken. you miss ash on the way you get shoot by the giant, give to handmaid and get new items in her shop. The shield that not parrying have different skills.
Saw you upload the first part of ds3. Immediately went back and binged ds1&2 now I'm finally caught up. Plan on watching your other series and videos soon. Love the energy and the vibe. Keep doing what your doing and I'll keep coming back. Ps I understand the not wanting to get locked into being souls content I think you have the right personality to play whatever you want and still make great stuff! Look forward to what comes next!
Where the arrows reign down take a left at the shack as the path curves around back the way you came and past the trees you'll find a well with handmaiden ashes on a body, these upgrade her store. There's a cleric set just before it. Also yoel's quest is part of the secret 3rd ending that has several steps, for his part if you die 15 times then speak to him you can level up upto 5 times, but you will look withered and hollow there after. This must be done before the first throne boss beyond the swamp. Reload or rest at the bonfire after the 5th level and you'll meet a new npc in his area. If you really want to learn more about the steps, look up the lord of hollows questline.
IMO the mound makers (the purple guy that invaded you) is the most fun covenant in the series They can attack enemies and even other invaders, and in fact their goal is to kill *anyone*, so if you have summons, they can win by just killing them and leave you alive! Hell, they could even be an EXTRA summon helping you clear enemies, they're the chaotic covenant that can be your friends or enemies, hence the mix of the friendly blue and enemy red colour~
Loot the area where the giant is shooting spears to get morticians ashes and give it to the old maid at the shrine to get the key to the locked door in the sewers next to the rats. U will find irina at the end and rescue her. She will teach you spells and miracle when u give her spell tombs but dont give her any dark spell tombs which will unlock her bad ending.
For those who don't know there is a section of the cliff face you can roll down if (you have enough health) near Egon to reach the crevice zone and save Irina without the key
I liked the preview after the recap. Great video! 15:31 On the other side of the road is actually a path behind the barrels Now that you have the "Transposing Kiln" check out the thrones in the Firelink Shrine
Forgot to comment on the last video if I recall correctly. Anyways, for the area you're in that Transposing Kiln can be given to the one dude sitting on a throne at Firelink and he will make you boss weapons with boss souls (along with some other spells and items depending on the soul). That door you opened for the bonfire there can lead you to a tower with the giant. Getting to the giant can get him to stop shooting at you, but I recommend just trying to talk to him first. Also the tower can lead to you more area to explore in the undead settlement, which can lead you to the pyromancer. Finally, Yoel's ability to give you free levels will require you to die quite a bit. Fortunately, that's going to be easy for you given that getting to the next area after Undead Settlement is usually a bit of a challenge. I doubt you remember but I did hint that Yoel's questline leads to the third ending (the one everyone swears is the best but is ultimately the ending I despise due to being forced to do it first by my friends) but it can be easy to lock yourself out of it if you don't know what you're doing so be careful for the time being.
the enemy that you killed that gave you rubish the guy with the cage on the back would have taken you down under the boss area and given you the chance to join a covenant
Yoel actually provides 5 free levels but you have to die about 5 times after each. The game doesn't really provide you with this information so a lot of players ignore Yoel unknowingly after the first free level up. And you have to do all 5 levels before beating your first lord of cinder "The Abyss Watchers" otherwise Yoel dies all by himself in the firelink shrine and another npc whose arrival is triggered by completion of Yoel's quest doesn't arrive at all. So be sure to find a safe place to die 5 times after each level and do 4 more level ups with Yoel.
The yoel quest is part of then3rd ending. It's like the ranni quest in elden ring, you can beat the game and get the normal endings or you can do the 3rd ending and get the most out of it ♡ I'm on my first playthrough just a few hours ahead of you in this video and I'm definitely letting yoel level me 5 times and getting the best ending 🎉
A smaller "parry shield" has a slightly larger parry window with a few more parry frames, but the timing is very different from a medium shield (which is what the NPC is parrying you with btw). However, parry shield is fairly useless as a shield excluding blocking arrows and small projectiles and such. Medium shields are perfectly usable as parry tools, and they can make for a decent shield as well 😅. I don't believe you can parry all weapons and I believe it's impossible to parry some weps when 2-handing, whips and great/colossal weapons. Yes, that gnarly sword the pygmy had is a cool sword, it's one of the rarest drops and hardest farm in the game. And Hodrick carved his name on your hide several times with one. Fun stuff, you missed a few secrets, be thorough and DS3 will reward your persistence.✌️
18:56 sad News: Solaire isnt in this game 😢… HOWEVER!!! You can get his armour by simply going to pickle pee and droping these items: Siegbrau (drops the armour), Homeward Bone (drops the bracelets), sede of a giant tree (drops the leggings), Lightning urn (drops iron helm) and mendicants staff (drops the shield) Also, you have a bone share (maybe 2 by this point) and you can use it to upgrade Ur flasks. Bewary of onion knight pretty soon
About the multiplayer guy, you don't need to invade anyone to complete the quest, you need only an item in your inventory, it's an item you'd get by invading but there is also ways to get them in game, this one in particular is a Pale Tongue on a corpse to be looted. One of the parts of the quest later on is kinda hard to do without help but at the end of the quest you can get his helmet, which looks fantastic. You can always kill him at firelink to get it, but doing the quest is more fun
@@sephiro2063 SPOILERS!? oh damn thanks! Just started playing and had someone drop me the pickaxe since that’s what I used in DS1/2 so I’ll just kms a few times to get the other free levels. Much appreciated!
@@PELlPELI Spoiler To be specific, "the first level is available with no requirements, the second at 2 hollowing, the third at 6 hollowing, the fourth at 12 hollowing, and the fifth at 15 hollowing". Solaire is not in the game, but you can get his gear (armor and shield) from the crow trades. It works like in DS1, not like DS2, as in the trades are set, and so you need to drop specific items to get Solaire's stuff. The sword can be looted, but it's in a mid-late game area.
That "random dude" you found after the boss was that NPC Invader that gave you so much trouble. There is a way to go down there. A huge guy with a cage on his back that will not attack you unless you do. You can use the cage to travel to that cave before the bossfight and if you did not kill the Invader, you can talk to him and join his covenant to which that sacrificial altar belongs. A tip from me, level up ADP until you reach 100 AGL (95 - 99 AGL is fine too) it has the same s as Ds1 mid roll or fast roll from Ds1,3.
@@pond9875 You only need 96 AGL for DS1 i-frames.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you ever picked up the loots the dragon was spewing fire over in the Lothric Highwall area.

Wasn't this the souls game in which you can become a dragon?
I mean not an actually giant dragon, but like fire spitting beast.
Was it this one or was is ds1?
Both. Dark souls 2, too. And Elden Ring.
