Thank you for the video! I've had a MEC for a few years now, but I haven't used it because I couldn't figure out why it was dumping shot on the floor. Your video has been a great help! Thanks!
Thanks for the quick explanation on how to use it! So, it's basically keep an eye on your powder and shot and add a hull and wad once you get things going. Seems simple enough! Now all I need is a 12g 9000g, some #8 chilled shot, wads, and of course many more hulls!
Thank you. Yours is the first video I’ve seen that starts from first she’ll to finished shells. I kept wondering how you kept powder and shot from dropping. I was under impression that older could recognize if there wasn’t a shell in powder or shot stage
Isn't the 9000 like the Grabber, there should be a mechanism to prevent a powder/shot drop until ready on the first hulls. There is a lock for the charge bar if it is adjusted correctly...works great on the grabber but you don't have to top it back?
Hey CMhunguy44 I own a Mec 9000G and if you have your Charge bar set correctly you DO NOT have to place a hull in station 2 or 3 to catch powder or shot. if it is set up correct you can leave your powder and shot bottle standing up and not have to tilt them back. you simple start with station 1 and as it moves to 2 it will only drop powder at this station and not drop shot . but when it moves to 3 it will then drop the shot and powder as long as it has another hull on station 2 otherwise it will not drop powder. Go to Mec trouble shooting and check out the videos - MEC Reloaders Troubleshooting Progressive Bar Lock & Release
@MyKen72 I too get holes in the crimps of Winchester AA hulls that I load. People I shoot with also have this problem. I honestly don't know why they do that.
I have a serious question for any viewer of this video or for you CMgunguy44. I am looking into buying a progressive loaders for shotshell reloading. I have a steelmaster by mec and I love it but I just want faster loadings. I am stuck between buying the sl900 by Dillon and the Mec 9000G. From what I have watched already the SL900 seems very picky so you have to have it adjusted and set up for one particular load. I know with my steelmaster I have loaded the same load into different hulls and the crimp and all the components work very well so I like not being completely restricted to one set load where if I change one component I find I have to make adjustments. How does the Mec 9000G do with different loads or different hulls? Does it still crimp them all pretty well or is there a lot of adjustments to be made?
I pay $3.99 for mine at my local gun store but at this point in time, the cheapest for CCI 209 and CCI 209M is $3.79 from the distributors I use. I don't know why regular and magnum primers are the same price but I just guess that's how it goes.
Mount whatever loader you buy with a cookie sheet between the press and the bench. Its easier to clean up spilled shot and powder. You will continue to spill.
@silver760 I make videos to inform and entertain the people in the world of shooting. If you don't like the videos or my "snotty, bunged up nose", then don't watch them. Simple as that.
No I do not. There is really no need to. Unlike rifle brass, shotgun hulls do not come clean when put in a case tumbler. About the best thing you can do to clean your hulls is scrub them with rubbing alcohol. Do not use acetone as this may start to breakdown the plastic in/on the hull and can lead to having weak hulls that majorly split or break when fired.
Here in Germany you hav to pay 6€ for 100 CCI 209 Primers....about 8,6$! And for the shot i have to pay about 43$ for 5kg. Do you save money reloading shotgun shells? I dont. Thats because i began to load the Lyman Sabot Slug. There i save money.
Those weren't claybuster winchester wads those are called windjammer. They are mostly designed for a straight wall hull such as federal, cheddite, reo, challenger,...
you have helped me to prevent shot and powder going everywhere

Sir you have helped me to hopefully not dump shot and or powder all over the place again.

I'm currently fighting that issue. Charge bar will not lock and I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.
@@tonymessineo308 go to MEC website and then go to videos as they have a video that address that issue and will correct that problem
Great video! Very much appreciated..
You can do custom loads, special loads like BB, 00, and such a lot cheaper then buying them.

Thanks for the cookie sheet tip!

do you have a video of adjusting the crimp stations? also do you find that the nitro crimps easier? i use the win aa, but have holes in my crimp.

Hello. Can use this machine for over a caliber can I use for 12 gauge and 20 gauge?
What do you do to prep the hulls for reloading?
When loading my line loads for trap, its costs me $0.23 (0.16 Euros) per shell or $5.75 (4.03 Euros) per box of 25 shells.

What is the difference between the 9000G and a 9000 series progressive?
They are all 9000 progressive. The G is manual and the H is hydraulic, E is electric.
Do you also loading Slugs?
that is cool

No. I only load lead shot. Not slugs.
Your missing part 670A-Bar Lock, then you don’t have to do those extra steps of tilting the powder and shot back.
@Halofreak131313
I did and I removed it because it would lock on me at random times
there's a mec 9000 at my local pawn shop
Nothing against you personally, but why do so many teens on UA-cam vids all have snotty, bunged up noses? It's becoming a home video trend!!
