Episode 43 of the rapid rating climb sees a classic Vienna Game (Max Lange Variation) with 2 Brilliant Moves and tactics flying everywhere. The Vienna Game offers many attacking opportunities with the open f file after moves like f4 offering attacking possibilities for the rooks if black castles kingside. Whilst my opponent diffuses my opening control with some brilliant tactics, the attack remains with classic Vienna ideas still existing despite the more balanced central control in what I would call a positional attack rather than a tactical attack (although tactics are of course involved) since it focuses on exposing weak squares mainly. Hope you enjoy!

I honestly love these videos bro. In my short span of supporting your channel, I've learned so much already from your mindset as you choose the candidate moves and search deliberately for counter play.
Even just hearing the constant explanation leaves me no room for nonsense distractions as the vids require attention yet, makes it so easy to achieve while watching.
It's just so instructive and provides ideas and explanations simple enough that at least for my level, 1800, I can keep listening attentively without much effort.
I haven't finished the video yet, but if you won the game, I'm sure thrilled to watch another rating climb series!

Thank you so much for the kind words bro, sometimes I feel like I'm just waffling about the small intricacies of the position but if it helps then I'll keep on doing it! Hope you continue to enjoy and please feel free to let me know anything I can improve on in the videos themselves and my chess as a whole, we're all here to improve after all

Alex, my sincere congratulations on your work on this channel!
It is one of my favourites, and I showed it to my chess friends. I love the way you explain and your analysis (not your poses, though :( ).
Anyway, jokes apart, keep up with the good work, mate.
    Cheers!

I know these games are hardest to lose, where you had an epic battle and you know you came out in top but couldn't convert and ended up messing it up. Gotta stay stoic. Well played by both regardless.

Rf6 attacks the pawn twice threatens Rd6. instead of Re2. but you got to play it anyway as his position is full of holes.
    Qg5 g6xN e6. but does it work. At 56:57

Great video. So far, most of your opponents have been playing below weight class, with some exceptions. This is the first time I can remember where it seemed like you were playing someone at your own level.
You held your own through the middle game. And, truth be told, whether due to time or distraction, it seemed he outclassed you in the end game.
I'm sure if you hadn't had to explain your thought process, you would have played at least 25% better. You could have dialed in much earlier. That would have been plenty.
I'm glad you didn't go for the perpetual. It seemed you had several chances. Keep up the content.

Thanks man, you make a very good point. He seemed about the level I normally play against in tough OTB games but he played the endgame very well to be fair to him, i think I got a bit lazy so need to work on that for sure
