I have my own chess channel but when I see this video I just think "damn, this guy is in a league of his own". So well explained, great speaking speed, so logical even for lower rated players, such a great choice of moves, and even the length of the video is just about spot on.
11:03 bxh7!! if Kh8, black can play Bf5+ and after kg8 black can play RxBe6 followed by Bxe6+. White is forced to block with the rook on f7 in which black can take that with the bishop and be up the exchange. If white plays NxBh7, Black can play BxBe7 forking the queen and rook
You are such an amazing teacher. We can literally see your passion for the game through our screens. I'm learning the bishop's opening, and your videos have improved my game significantly, even though I'm a low level player. I hope to master this one opening and learn everything there is to it through theory and practice.
**Answer is Knight on e5 if black takes, rook take back and if black d'ont take it you take d7 with knight and whatever black take back, bishop take f6 if black takes the bishop it's check mate, so black move pawn to h6 then white take bishop on f6 if pawn takes it's checkmate in 2 moves and if not you take the queen and black is still dead soon!**
Kxe5 was my initial reaction, I saw the same line also. However, after kxe5, black can play 0xh6. This is why Bxh7 is the better move, as if black takes with the knight on f6, whites bishop on g5 captures blacks bishop and creates a fork, winning a rook for a bishop.. apposed to sacrafising a bishop for 2 pawns and an undefended king. Also a solid move but I think bxh7 is stronger, as you can follow it up with the kxe5 next
I love these video's. So I watched it, played out the lines a few time to memorise them. First game as white, 1.e4 e5 2. Bc4 all going good 2.....Qe7 😵💫
That sucks rhey didnt go into the opening. Luckily for you, its a bad move anyway! Qe7 basically gives you the perk of a gambit without being one, since they lose time not developing. Just develop and castle faster and crack open the center!
Puzzle of the day.. we have couple of vining combination, but I vote for white bishop sacrifice on h7 and take black bishop on e7 and with double atack on queen and rook and win the game.. Also pony on e5 is not bad move but I didnt analize them seriously. And sorry about my bad English writing they teach us Russian language in school, lifetime tagedy..

Bishop h7 king h8 bishop g6 check King back on g8, so no.. knight e5 I think too slowly becose black dont must to take with the knight, but rook e1 take the bishop on e6 its almoust free bishop!? Now when i look again if pawn f7xrooke6 now we take pony on e6 with our black bishop black pony take back now our pony comes on g5 black must to defend checkmat so play g6 pony From g7 go on e6 with double atack on queen and the rook........... @@vladimircvetkovic2969 Atarting with Bishop h7 you win only a pawn, checkmate is still a long wa, take a board and play the moves I suggested and you will see that it's nice!
I have a question for viewers. How do you all practice these lines? You can't practice against bots as they almost never play the lines you want them to. I don't really want to practice new lines in rated matches. I tried unrated but found the rating difference to be really large (like 400+ above me).
I go to lichess study option then i study the most common lines of the opening that i want to study then i play rated games, and since I've studied almost all the common moves it's not that much difficult to win the game.
Personally, I just play rated usually blitz. That way if I accidentally blunder in the opening I don’t waste 30mins. I understand not wanting to drop rating but that losing will make you a stronger player.
@benb9276 yeah I probably should. I use to do that, but now that I am higher in rating I didn't feel like needlessly lowering it. I do know several openings and am quite versed in a few. However, I would like to expand that. It's hard knowing all the different lines. I usually play bullet and blitz.
You shouldnt be focused on maintaining the same elo while trying to improve. To improve is to lose, to see what to not to do, and what to do next time. You have to make mistakes to realise why a certain move was/is bad, and what you could've done better or differently. Just play and gain skill then focus on climbing once you have the practise to do so. Practising unranked games is like training for an opponent who wont play their best, you might as well just train vs them
Once again, Stockfish saves the day. After 6. Nc3, better for Black is 6...Be7. Now if 7. Qh4, Black plays 7...d5. Then if 8. Bd3, play could continue as follows: 8...Nbd7 9. Bg5 c6 10. Bf5 O-O, and Black holds on to the pawn. And if White plays 7. Bg5, Black responds with 7...h6 and White's attack soon fails, for example, 8. Qh4 d5 9. O-O-O c6 10. Rhe1 Be6 11. Bd3 Nfd7 12. Bxe7 Qxe7 13. Qxe7+ Kxe7. Realistically, it's unlikely that Black will find the correct response over the board. And we're told to play 1...e5 as beginners?
Do you have any tips for when the opponent play "bad" responses to your opening? I know what to do for the best responses, but when my opponent plays something I know is not one of the top moves, then I don't know what to do. This often leads to some traps, and then I lose.
i'm not even 2000, but here's a tip : learn the deffinition of bad position, like exposed king, possible tempo winning, or some position that will lead you or your opponent to do some tactics. because that will give you some insight to face some bad position, either from your side or from your opponent's side.
I used this trap for a long time 😢 now everyone will know how to deal with it, i managed to get to 2000 with it tho ahaha Also! There's a very tough move (for me) that i was hoping you'd cover! Which is when black (position at 15:10) plays d6 stopping e5! Thanks for the video
If I'm black and someone plays the Bishop opening against me, I just resign the game because I always lose. The Bishop's opening literally has to be the scariest thing as black to come across. It doesn't mater how good you are at chess, even Grandmasters can make mistakes and lose
If you're really scared of it. 2... Nc6 will often get you back into Italian like positions. Although white can try a Vienna style setup so you should be ready for that as black
Bishops opening is no joke. Lots of tricky lines and White always gets a playable position even when black plays well. Only downside is many of the lines cut both ways. Meaning if you mess up you can easily get dunked on.
Been trying this since I saw the video. They play knight c 6 every time. It’s like every player I get matched against is consulting an opening book or database every game to make sure they don’t lose to a trap
Well, Nc6 is the hardwired response to Nf3, they probably autopoileted it without realizing theyre countering d5. In this case, you should transpose into the Vienna (Gambit) with Nc3. Not as trappy, but can lead to nice kingside attacks. If you dont know it yet, I suggest learning it first then adding the Bishops opening.
The bots will either play so bad that they give you free wins, or play with accuracy higher than human average and never blunder. You're better off practising vs real people and not caring if you lose while you learn
@@OyemeLife real people are worse than bots you're better off just playing to learn rather than playingto win, which is what's causing you your anxiety / loss of confidence. Worst case is you lose 🤷🏻♂️
