Honestly, I'm so glad that the 2010s fashion happened when I was a tween/teen. I was also a colorful chunky plastic jewelry girlie lol But the fashion then was so youthful, colorful, and playful. Owls, peace signs, anchors, floral everything were all such fun motifs for teenagers. I feel like fashion then was really geared toward teens and everyone looking younger, even the giant bags were because we were all carrying our textbooks! RIP my shoulders 😂 Would I wear any of it today? Absolutely not! But I would be so stressed out being a teen today, trying to dress like every next fashion tik toker and "core" trend.
Actually I agree, we might have looked quite peculiar in the 2010s but at least it was solely based on us having fun 😌

I've always had a feeling that they had bad everyday outfits for spring and summer. They had amazing style for parties and events as well as winter/fall outfits. But I have no idea what happened during summer.
GREY. You mention it obviously in just a positive way and I agree with the specific looks but I just want to drive home the point that at this time period GREY was such a bigger color. Like grey skinny jeans, grey mini skirts, grey sweaters etc everything.( and Now we are all about the warm tone neutrals like browns. )

So to explain some of the weird boots like at 6:59, Leighton is also wearing Ugg’s so I am guessing Blake’s shoes are for comfort. I heard that the cast members would switch shoes in scenes were you couldn’t see their feet because the shoes were so uncomfortable.
There is an episode with a slight editing mistake where you can see blake wearing sweatpants under/kinda over? her dress for a split second as she's standing up and a lot of the BTS footage shows them wearing sandals or flip flops while filming in the street
(Can't remember the episode where you can see the pants but it's during a lunch/restaurant scene where dan is speed dating women for his book career and Serana comes and sits as his table and while storming off you can see the BTS wardrobe choices 😅)
@@Guinnessrat Yes it was on season 6! When the show was on TV and Netflix the sweatpants weren't noticeable but the newer streaming services have wider screens where they were visible. I was so shook when I rewatched it

I think 2010s fashion was fun when it happened, I was lucky enough to be a tween and just kind of enjoy its chaos, but I personally will not bring it back for me, I just can’t stand most of it now….butttt if someone wants to bring it back bc they enjoy it and have fun dressing like that they should just go for it, I think it’s time we all let people dress however they feel comfortable and don’t just make every thing the trend that everyone „has to follow“

Okey, this might sound weird, but there's one thing about Serena's outfits that I really have to give props to the stylists for:
Her cleavage always looked *perfect*.
I often see outfits that look like they do not fit the chest properly and things look uncomfortable, be it that something is too tight, too loose, or making it look the wearer couldn't move freely without the booba escaping into freedom.
But her chest looked perfect in every single outfit. No matter if it was completely covered or very much on display, just flawless presentation each and every time.
I have A cups and I still often struggle to get things to sit right, it's a precarious balance between thing being too loose and my chest getting pulled or squished, and I can imagine that does not get easier at her size. I can only assume clothing tape was employed more than once.
So yeah, whoever styled her really put effort into that aspect.

First of all, I had no idea that we were neighbors 🇩🇪 I also got lowkey assaulted by Elmo when I was in NY, as I was taking a picture of him. I feel like the clothes and hair, good or bad, represent the characters so much, like, you fully understand the characters through their appearances without the need to transform them into stereotypes. I always thought that Serena had some of the best looks and also most of the worst lmao but I feel like it's part of her character of not caring that much or trying to be bold, to stand out, she always wears a lot of bright colors and different patterns, her hair is always "messy" (I think is so beautiful, but I mean in the sense that it contrasts Blair's perfect styled curls), she wears a lot of maxi bags and maxi jewelry, a lot of high heels with shorts or jeans, maxi boots... Through the seasons we also get to see Jenny creating her own style inspired by Serena, we can clearly see a lot of influence, but Jenny goes to a darker palette and sort of an edge. If we compare their styles, they are actually quite similar, with the boots, accessories, bags, oversized sweaters with skirts, different patterns, etc.
The Jenny outfit that gagged me the most was the ending gold dress she wore at Serena’s wedding

This was recommended to me at the right time 😂. I‘ve been watching some GG content after finishing the series once again. Throughout the series, Chuck and Lily had the best outfits (personally) bc they very rarely wore something super bad (ignore Chucks tanktop w the little crowns on it from season 1 😂). Also, i am at that age where I dress more like Lily (turning 27 soon), she looks amazing in jeans, i always loved her more casual fits (just like serenas). I missed Blairs wedding dress here - not the one she wore when getting married to louis (tbh she did not look like herself then, the hair was pretty but not really Blair. I guess she had to find herself in s5). But i LOVED the elie saab dress at her little wedding to chuck!!! I was gagged!!! Also, the color coordination between her dress and chucks tie - it matched SO well. I went to new york in 2019 for my birthday, lost my phone there and was super sad but at least i was sad in new york 😅

Love the video. Gossip Girl's earlier seasons were filmed in late 2000's. This show did influence a lot of the 2010's fashion though. I'm curious if you're also going to do Pretty Little Liars. I really love Spencer's fashion though some can be a real miss.
