Tavares+Reilly+Brodie, Gio, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Lilijgren should be going. With 34 mil, get another D man and a big 3c. Add Minten and Cowan.
They just went out and got a decent partner for Reilly, he's not going anywhere. Liljjgren just re-signed and Jarnkrok and Kampf are decent third line players with versatility.

Since then he's been somewhat flaky; playing when he wants to and vanishing the rest of the time. For his salary money you could get two players who can give it 100% of the time!
You need a team where ALL the players can contribute effectively. With the Leafs you get 4 Superior players and 19 others you get at bargain basement prices. When some of them show potential they get lost to free agency or traded due to salary cap considerations.

Mathews is the shooting phenomenon and Marner is the playmaker. These are the two players that should be here for their entire career. Tre had the opportunity to move Nylander that has a ten team NMC before July 1st. Imagine what could be done with 22mil if Nylander was traded and just let JT walk at seasons end. With 22mil to spend on offense. That's five to six player's that Tre could aquire. Sounds like a Deep Playoff Run.

Nylander will be traded at deadline in the winter because he will bring back the most and unfortunately Marner will stay and with the luck of the leafs after the trade Marner will get smoked with his head down and end of season. Tired of hearing how good Marner is in regular season but play offs doesn't have what it takes while Nylander does have what it takes. Marner needs to be put in his place and become a man not a hot shot. Hope Marner keeps his head up throws his body more gets in a scrap earn some respect lol. I just don't see Marner as a play off guy and that is where the money is so Marner needs to prove it in play offs to get the big money
Marner has more playoff points than any other core 4 player.
Have you looked at the playoff stats, in the pass 6 years Matthews, Marner and Nylander were pretty much equal in points, but I guess it is just one guy. I hope the Nylander rumours are true.
@davidwhyte4950 what does mathews do in the playoffs all he cared about is scoring 70 goals which all the majority of them come from mitch marner true facts or he would be nothing... the one with the most assists should get all the credit plus he kills penalties he does more then anyone else facts.... in the playoffs its not about how many goals you score or who scores them it's about winning even if it takes just a goal to win it's about defense and heart you grind up n down the ice and it's not just always about a good goalie yes a goalie needs help.. needs help a key save is a key save but if there s no defense well one or two will eventually gonna go in.. that last game when they scored first in game 7 you build a wall on the blue line keep the puck out even in the third period if there's 10 15 mins left that's how you win hockey when it matters most then worry about the next round

Worst signing ever: Leafs sign Domi for 4x's his worth and for longer than any team he has ever been with. He's been with SEVEN (7) teams in the last NINE (9) years and lasted only ONE (1) year with FOUR (4) of those teams. How dumb are the Leafs???? Everyone knows but the Leafs and their fans.

FYI. Points don’t tell the whole story. It just means a shot actually got past the goalie. It doesn’t show the energy that was used to try to get those shots in or make the passes, and the amount of icetime the players are getting. Stats also don’t show your linemates at that time. I watched Marner get the puck in the neutral zone (in the playoffs against Florida) last year, and he litterly stopped at the Florida blue line. He saw the Florida players there and just dumped the puck in. Not at the net either. He also never went to the bench either. He still stayed on the ice in the neutral zone. He appeared to be scared.
