When trying to win experience in the NHL is so important. These players are fine for the group
They should have got Pesce or Zadorov with the money they used to sign OEL and Liljegren.
How do you know they didn't try? For all we know is that the players themselves chose not too...

3M that could have been spent on better Dmen in free agency. Seems like Tre cut his losses and just signed him because he was a RH Dman.
Say what you like about the signings. I’m just happy the defense is being bolstered. I’d like to see more defensive minded and physical forwards added to surround the stars though. If it’s only 2 guys on the ice playing defense your screwed

I am pretty happy with these moves. For many years, free agency would come and go and we often would be left scratching our heads wondering why Leafs didn't do much. I like he OEL and Tanev signings, Leafs blueline is really looking improved. I also like the Stolarz signing, limited games per season but stats ( minus the one year in Ana) have been good. He's a massive goalie at 6'6"... I think the Leafs bringing back Murray for one year is a little bit of an insurance move just due to Woll's injury history and incase these 2 can't do the entire season as a 1A/1B.. maybe Murray takes 10-15 games this season? Then if the Leafs need to address it further, they can address it before or at trade deadline..

That’s a very good contract.
$4.1 million for goalie depth. who knows, maybe with the surgery and lots of rest, Murray will make a nice comeback. either way, could be very useful #3
True. Could be a steal, and Woll could still be the real deal. This is a gamble we can take and still sleepwalk to the playoffs. If the tandem doesn't look competitive by the deadline, hopefully there's a viable rental out there. Both of these guys look like NHL goalies though, sample size notwithstanding.

Like the tanev and oel signing, not the term, but that's how free agency goes, I'd like the stolarz signing if they had a legit starter, love Woll but I'm not sold on the goaltending. Also I weirdly like what the capitals have done, they could be good this year
This is perfect, just as shit as last season
A lot of people complaining they didn't get this person or that one. Don't forget, they had limited funds and the player also has to want to play in TO. I'm sure some don't. They could have offered Zadorov or Skeji a contract but they said no. Who knows. All I know is, on paper, the D is better than last year and the goaltending may or may not have improved, time will tell. Hopefully more moves to come..
Vegas didn't make any big moves, so it makes me wonder if Marner might be on his way there.

They need scoring and have no cap space left unless they trade Kamph, Jarncrok, and Robertson. They have to replace Bertuzzi.
It isn't scoring they need, it is post-season goals. I think that the coaching change and the D to forward transition has changed this.
Stolarz..meh, Ekman-Larson okay but not special. Taney is old and injury prone. Stop sounding like you are planning a Cup parade.
Congrats Leafs you added 3 players this free agency season. All three are 30 or more years of age. Welcome Tanev, Ekman-Larsson and Stolarz to the circus known as Toronto. Not a Leafs fan but i follow their circus act. I think i have the same reaction as you to these news, underwhelming.
Tanev is a great pick, both of these new picks provide what we have been missing. We have all of the skill, youth, and prospects we need.
We needed a solid D, we needed grit and constitution to go four rounds, these guys give this.

Stolarz was a great signing... this could work out to be a steal for the Leafs... overall Treeliving has done a decent job today, NOWWWW ... if he can get Marner moved out ,he will have around $1️⃣0️⃣Million to shoppppp.... do what you can Tree 🌳 to free up Marner money ... let's see if they can close the deal on Skinner... The cupboards are empty, there are no blue chip draft picks thanks to the gross ineptitude of Dubas and Shanahan ... acquired goalie Anthony Stolarz is no savior. Boston has countered what the Leafs did on the blue line so there is still very little hope of the Leafs moving past the 1st round of the playoffs. Same 'ole, same 'ole!
