I enjoyed the information from this video. I think a lot more people would watch this video if it was titled something like "diaper changing pad, keekaro vs. skip hop vs. hatch smart scale". I only knew comparisons to other popular changing pads was in the video by looking at the description but most people won't notice that. Just a though that could help improve views for this video which has good content.
Thank you so much for this, especially showing similar ones on the market. I had a hard time finding similar ones to do my comparison and ease my mind. Now that you've done the hard work for me I can confidently say the Skiphop is the best one for us.
Does the width measurement include the toy bar? This pad is about 1 inch too wide for our dresser so I’m wondering if I can get away with it if we just remove the toy bar. Thanks!
You can remove the thing that holds the bar with a screwdriver. Without it the total width will be about 17”. However that may also remove the safety strap (I can’t tell for sure) if that matters to you.
Happy to answer any questions about the Skip Hop changing pad. Also please let me know what other topics you'd like to see videos about. Thanks for watching!
Nice review! The audio sounds like it's bouncing between the left and right speakers, which kinda hurts my brain. If you can't fix your recording gear, I suggest you change the sound output to mono.
Thanks so much, this has been driving me crazy too. I'm trying to change my mic setup for the upcoming videos but I appreciate the mono trick. I'll do that if it's still off!
Thanks for posting! I’m curious if you (or anyone really) has found that this change pad has a bit of a plastic smell? I find the smell is actually filling our nursery right now and looking for ways to try to mitigate this before baby arrives. Any input/insight is appreciated!
Hi Natalie, I don't recall any lingering plastic smell. Maybe it had a bit of smell coming out of the box. But we definitely don't have any smells from it now. You can try just giving it a couple of cleans with some baby wipes or even clorox wipes. When our daughter gets anything on the pad we do a clorox wipe followed by baby wipes and then dry with paper towel. Hope this helps!
I know your comment is 10 months old but the pink discoloration happened for us almost immediately as well and now that I’m looking it seems like there’s quite a few Amazon reviews that mention it too
Oh interesting!! I have this for my son, and we actually regret buying it and wish we’d just gone with a traditional changing pat with a cover lol. We just think it’s soooo hard and cold for our baby to lay on, we always putting a baby blanket on top of it so it’s a little warmer and softer for our baby. I originally bought it cuz I heard stories about little boys peeing on their changing tables all the time, but our son never does that. So a traditional changing pad would’ve been fine for us. Anyway, glad it worked for you!!
Honestly, when our daughter was really small I thought the same way that it was cold and hard for her but we noticed within a few weeks that she just loved lying down on it. We still put a little cloth diaper under her head so she's comfortable and also in case she happens to spit up. I guess every baby likes these things differently :) Anyways thanks for watching!
Yes, the pee will pool where it is but obviously will spread based on how much they pee. If our daughter is in a onesie we usually take out the legs and hike it up over her belly button so if she does pee it will not soak into her clothes before we wipe it up.
You can turn it down too without taking it away !!!!
Thanks! Just realized it just requires a lot of force the first couple of times!
Use this with my granddaughter. Love the pad! Wish these were around when my kids were babies.
Haha that’s great

Thanks for the feedback and thank you for watching! I’ll think about how I can incorporate the comparison in the video name.

@@lifeofdadYT my dresser width is 17.5" . I really want to buy this, do you think the pad fits for 17.5" width? I do not care about toy bar.. thanks.
@@BhargaviUrs6 sorry just saw this. I think that’ll be just right. I just measured the pad with the toy bar connection and that’s about 17.5”.
Thank you very informative and straightforward!!!!

Have you had any issues with discoloration? Mine has a strange pink stain that I’ve noticed has been an issue for others as well.
None. We’ve been using it for 2 years now and we clean it with baby wipes and clorox wipes. No staining at all.

So the pee will stay in place and not run up or down?
Yes, the pee will pool where it is but obviously will spread based on how much they pee. If our daughter is in a onesie we usually take out the legs and hike it up over her belly button so if she does pee it will not soak into her clothes before we wipe it up.
