Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 for me. I've had every single iteration of the Speed, and I've loved every single one I've owned. In my opinion, it is a true workhorse of a shoe. Can literally do anything you throw at it. Comfy, reliable, and effortless. I will always buy a pair of Speeds over anything else.
Heavier runner. 195lb 7:00 min/mile marathon pace. The Endorphin Elite just flies for me. I was afraid it was too firm and I regret not using it for my recent marathon. Love the shoe. I'm going to use it for the next one.
Managed to pick up the a pair of Cielo X1s for £160 and they are very much worth that price. It might be because they are my first ever race shoes but wow the energy return is incredible!

Edd, I must tell you first and foremost I have enjoyed your channel for quite some time, and we share running shoe similarities, but I must tell you I’m 70 yrs old and what I get from you is an old school vibe, what I mean about that is how well you would fit in the 1960’s when the greatest music and musicians of all time were at their peak, from every genre, especially rock. Not to say you don’t have a great appreciation for them now you certainly do but to experience an era is special, if I could go back I would certainly take you with me for one concert of your choosing and share that excitement. Well being to you and your family.
@@EDDBUD I totally understand, and agree but I swore to myself you would have chosen Carlos Santana, hahaha, or Eric Clapton, our only choice difference. But Bo’s transitioning from blues to rock is quite ledgendary.
Speed 4 shoe of year for me. So comfy. So versatile. Cielo X1 my first race shoe it fits my feet perfectly but I must admit the ride is special and takes some time getting used to. Its so bouncy and the midsole is like a bowl the the rocker is immense. Need to find a better synergy with my gait still work in progress. Good thing I got it 20% off.
You're the only shoetuber that seems keen to tinker with the footwear to get a good fit. It's interesting to hear the adjustments you make to try to get them to work for you. Very much the Claudio Ranieri of the Shoetube world.
Hey Edd, I’ve been loving my Novablast 4s. Really feels like a do it all shoe 💪🏾. Did a mixed road/trail/hill/technical muddy descent 11km the other day and it handled it all very well. Will be interesting to try on a 30km plus long trail run next. Great review as always 🙏🏾👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am surprised with your take on the Elite’s wet grip. I ran in a very rainy marathon early in May and consistently slipped on toe-off, on painted road surfaces (cross-walk and lane lines) and smoother concrete (holding tram rails). It happened so often that I was concentrating more on the issue than just running. Slower result in the end. Great in the dry though!
Hey Edd, haven't commented for a while but still tuning in my friend. I loved the the Endo Speed 2, quality marathon training shoe, all kinds of runs. Sadly looks like the 4 (and 3) are just not quite up to that level. I'm just not quite convinced enough about any daily shoe right now for long/tempo runs. My triumph 20 and Adiós Pro 3 have me covered. But what do you think, could the Mach 6 or Boston 12 be the answer... Or a waste of hard earned Dosh...🤔 Peace ✌🏼

Is the Endorphin Speed 4 more exciting than the Speed 3. I find the Speed 3 to be a little blah. I find the Pro 3 does what the I thought the Speed 3 should do.
Trying to get hold of a Novablast 4 in my size (11) at the moment is like trying to find Lord Lucan. I have a feeling I'll have to wait until the 5 at this point!
You and others describe the Endorphin Elite as very rigid. I also have heard the HG foam is firmer. This would make a pretty hard and stiff ride at moderate paces, but when you get up to race pace do you feel more cushion in the foam?
Edd, any current recommendations for a lower stack racer? I really miss the Takumi Sen 6/7 era and whilst have been getting on fine with the 8-9 for the last few years, I do miss the flatter feel from the older ones and haven't really found a good alternative as yet.
Just got back into running seriously and i picked up some leftover Novablast 3's for a deal. So far I am very happy with them and as they are my only shoe getting over 20 miles per week i will be looking at the endorphin speed 4 in a few months.
How does the Endorphin Speed 4 compare to the Endorphin Speed 3? Do you find there is enough improvement to warrant the purchase. The Speed 4 in Australia is rather expensive these days.
They need a Novablast with a more aggressive toe spring to match the Evoride, Magic speed 3 and Metaspeed Edge+. The lasts on the Superblast and Novablast are too flat.
I had my first run in the Glideride 3 this morning and it was fantastic. It has the FF Blast+ midsole and the toe spring and a reasonable weight. I can't believe how good it felt. Maybe it just suits my running style. I suggest try and find a Glideride 3 on sale. I got a US size 10 (half size up for my usual US9.5) and got the wide version.

Prime X Strung 2 for 150ish earth credits on SportsShoes? Hoka Cliftons have died so going to use NovaBlast 3s for dailys, is the PXS 2 a decent shout for Long Runs?
It feels like we're watching two blokes battle it out to become a regional manager for Lidl, but it turns out they'll be running the country 😭🤣 Hopefully somebody starts stealing paint from British Rail 🚂 🤞🏻
Finding it difficult to find a pair of UK10 NovaBlast Lime or MS Sky Paris- does anyone know if there will be restocks or is that it until next editions?

I think with many of these shoes it’s down to how you compress that foam. The heavier built runners no doubt bottom out the softer stuff.

I'm massively on the fence with the Cielo X1, normally I'd take a punt but as you say its an expensive gamble if they dont work out 🤔
Love the speed 3 even though the outsole isn't great and wearing away fast and the upper has a tear in them. Won't stop me buying rhe 4 😊
Good review Ed, I think you should do one for the worst colourways. I’m sure Hoka would have the top 5.
Now that’s a good video I can incorporate Mrs Eddbud!
I had the Novablast v2 & v3. I think those were both a good value as far as the versatility and durability they offer for the money.
Saucony need to hire some Continental or Puna guys.Otherwise that grip will never get grippy on wet roads.
Grip is paramount
