Nice review. 100% agree with everything you said. Kid you not, I just went to my local WM this morning to get groceries and various stuff. They had one of these, and the other 2023 blue pivot model discounted for $1 each!! In the right place at the tight time I guess. I snagged them both for the same price as the coffee filters I bought!! I'll keep them for spare parts. Its not my first go-around though. The first one I took apart and polished the lock bar bearing surface with some green compound. Its nice and smooth now. Out of the box these are pretty gritty and grind-ey feeling. Nice review though.
In one of Bird and Frankies ozark trail videos they made a comment that a walmart employee / manager reached out to them to thank them for the review. So supposedly walmart executives do surf these YT reviews to some degree. If they really wanted to knock these holiday releases out of the park, up the blade steel to an 8CR13, AUS-8, 14C28 or 440C... without too much price bump.
Having the axis lock become fair use really highlighted how over priced benchmade knives are. I still like them and they're clearly higher quality than an Ozark trail but with so many imitators and other fast fidgety locks I'd hope benchmade would get a reality check. That Ozark is actually impressive for the price 👏
It's a tight matchup, but overall I like this one a bit more because it also has a flipper and I love its handle's side-traction. Plus it feels a bit better in my hand, despite it being a less "ergonomic" knife.

Between this and the one with the blue pivots what do you like better?

Kinda reminds me of a bugout just not as thin. Almost the same weight though.
