Ozark Trail has one more "Shaft" lock out this year. It comes in a 3 pack (blue scales) with a grey spring assisted knife and a black handled tanto blade shape. I like the one you showed here with the "G-10" like scales.
You mean the bar code numbers?... sure... the rough texture handle flipper is 20909-46842, and the blue trim pivot is 20909-46835. I am not sure about the green handle one from last year though.
@@mrsliver45 Sure bro no prob. The quirky thing about these OT knives is the availability (or lack there-of). My understanding is they are available in store only, so its hit and miss. I bought both axis lock models on 12/16, they had a whole display rack of them. Came back 12/21 they were all sold out and the display was completely removed. Came back again on 12/23 they had ONE flipper model, sitting lose on the shelf which they clearance discounted to $1. Of course I snagged it for a buck. But I got really lucky on that second one. So maybe you can get lucky too... Good Luck and happy new year!! [EDIT] I was really reluctant to go to WM on that evening of 12/23. My wife kind of had to beg me to take her out to get some last minute stocking stuffers... so she's happy, I'm happy... solid win!!
I really want to try these out, but cant seem to find them. Been to 3 different local Walmarts and the only one they have is the ugly 7.6 serrated, not seen a single axis-lock.
That one on the left is not very good out of the box. I had to loosen the pivot, add a ton of oil, and break it in a lot over the course of a few days. Now, it works respectably but was so bad out of the box I almost tossed it in the trash. Also you’re so right about the gateway drug. I bought one of the older Ozark models with a flipper (because I’d never seen a knife like that before) and that eventually led to me getting 2 civivi flipper knives. I draw the line at benchmade and spyderco though. Bug out and para 3 are undoubtedly cool but 300 bills for a pocket knife fuq dat. Lol
I bought four of the OT shaft lock knives last year and all of them were near perfect out of the box! This year the Walmart's near where we live did not have them. The three new shaft lock knives they came out with were nowhere to be found and they do not exist on Walmart's webpage so I could not buy them online. I was very disappointed! :(
Spot on, agree with evetything said. Note also that this years OT models are cheaper than the green one from last year. Wasn't the green one $.95 more at $5.95?... my memory could be off.
Steel is unknown, probably 3cr given the price. The Gordon I believe was 8cr13mov, so probably a superior steel. These are good if you prefer the axis lock mechanism.
Fair review. n I know these are just $5-6 knives and don't warrant any care for improvement haha... but I put proper sized polished zinc washers in 2 of mine. I have the green one and the curvy one.. just couldn't consider it a EDC knowing it had plastic washers in the pivot. Steel is probably really trashy on these.. These days $20 gets u D2 + axis locks of faaar higher quality with micarta or G10 scales..... but yeah $5 haha just replace ur pivot washers n u b ait ;)

What is silly is that I had the blue one on the table just off camera and forgot to put it in the video 🤣
@@CoyoteEDC LOL
Nice Video. Can you list the part number from back of each knife package? Thanks.

@@MuvoTX Thanks for the reply. I can't locate either at my two local Walmart's and wanted to try ordering online 👊

glad someone got to you, just went out to the trash to look for the packaging.
I can't believe how good the axis locks are for 6 bucks. Shoulda grabbed the other one at the time.
Very knife. Got me the blue chassis one from Oz trail

They seem to be seasonal. Holiday time only
@@CoyoteEDC pretty much what I figured, I guess 3x the price on eBay it is.. good thing they're still cheap.
I'm wondering what the Ozark Trail will bring in the future? Magnacut?
A great comparison man, thanks.
Yes, but they'll call it Magnicut instead of Magnacut

I have the middle black knife there. Took some doing but it opens fine now. Worth the price, fun fidget knife.

I'd buy that green one from you should you ever wish to sell it. I can't find it anywhere.

Yeah, they are a buck less this year, and still pretty good!
What ind of steel are these blades made of? How do these compare to the harbor freight Gordon 3.6 inch folding knife?

Those gateways are good enough for me. I want to use knives, not baby them.
Not Bad!!😊😊
