  • In this video I show you how to install an oil catch can for your 2016+ Infiniti Q50 with the VR30DETT motor.
The particular car I'm working on in this video is my friends car, it's a 2018 Q50 Red Sport.
For you BMW guys I hope you still find this entertaining, the points made in this video would apply to N54 and N55 motors.

Woah and I thought my N55 engine bay looked messy. At least you don't have to feel too bad about running a few more lines.

2019 Q50 Luxe here. This did not fit installed as shown in the video. You have to use the 2 holes on the side of the bracket to drop the can down lower or else the hood won't close. I'll add a video on my page so you get a visual of what I mean

You can also go with dual catch cans from boosted6. They both work very good on my vr30

Well done. Place it high in the engine bay where it's hottest, so you retain just the non-volatile and drive off the water. It's really important that the system and drain not be prone to leakage or you will lose vacuum to your brake booster.

I like these videos, thanks for sharing. The narrator reminds me of James Hetfield from Metallica (well his voice anyways!) Stay safe!

Another guy who does not understand that hot underhood air reduces performance.

I thought BMW's and MERCEDES cars come with oil separators built on to the cars now? Why would there be a need for an oil catch can if the car has an oil separator?

Any recommendations for the bmw since they don't have a direct fit? specifically the 335d

If/When ( because of the long hose runs then residue is likely to run back to engine as opposed into can!) it is time to empty then it might be easier to remove the two Allen fixing screws in the top of the can and manoeuvre it out into the open.

I was told not to do the oil catch can because of winter.

You can do it, just maintain your oil weight on 20-30, and check your collection in the hose and catch can more frequently. Like every 1k if you have high boost.

Out of 25 videos for this companies v3 catch can, 24 of them got sent to them free in exchange for making a video. If they sell a bunch of these from the exposure and because it looks so cool but it doesn't function well then who's the fool. The real question is how well does it actually work at catching the heated liquidfied vapor and therefor containing it from being passed through this device and still being deposited on intake valves. 50% out of 100 no bueno.
What needs to be done by this compnany is show the resluts they achieved through their testing and development or maybe there are no results or testing done.
Someone not sent a free product needs to test it and see the results. Example 3000 miles see the contents and check the output hose and stick a ramrod with some clean cotton patches into the hise and see if/how much residue can be found or pulled out. If its not catching 99% of the blowby then then it's not worth anymore then a $20 ebay can.
