    Just installed this kit today. The bracket alone is worth half of the cost of the kit. Installation was 1 1/2 hours because I wanted to route the lines in a way to be as invisible as possible (not just laying on top of the engine).

    BTW. the top three screws used to mount the can to the bracket can be loosened enough to slip into the mounting slots.

    I think the connection through the PCV valve is wrong. Since it does not work when the turbine is operating. oil cleaning only occurs when the valve is open. and when you accelerate it closes. What do you think about this.

  • @kingko55

    Mine came with one of these in it. How do you take it off for cleaning? I watched the actual cleaning video and I knew that with these before already. But how can I just remove and clean this one? Does it just twist off?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  2 роки тому +2

      The bottom of the can twists off. Or you can remove it from the vehicle for cleaning.

    This is an absolute must. My CC fills up pretty quick, I'll just attribute that to my lead foot. Instillation video spot on! Very well made product. Can the XL catch can work on the q50 application? Because I'm dumping mine once a week.

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 роки тому +2

      Glad to hear that is working out for you so well. Unfortunately this was a very tight fit as it was, you will run into some clearance issues running the Xl can.

      In terms of maitenance of the CC. Do you have to pretty much go through same process as installation but reverse just to empty the contents when it’s full? How long does it take you (compared to installation to empty it and reinstall again). Thanks!

    Is there any problem with the hose sitting right on the ac hose ? That’s the only way it sits ,I see in the video you guys have it hovering over just a bit , did you guys bend the bracket a little bit up ?

  • @LoneStarStinger
    @LoneStarStinger 3 роки тому +1

    Probably a dumb question, but does the car need to have been sitting for a certain amount of time to be cool first? If so, how long

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 роки тому

      The motor does not need to be cool for this installation. However, it's probably a good idea to wait a few hours from the last drive to ensure you do not burn yourself on anything.

    Hey, great product. What did you use to lubricate the o rings. Was it the can of wd 40

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 роки тому

      For the main catch can o-ring we recommend engine oil as it will be in contact with this often. However the fitting on the o-rings should get a little WD-40 as it will evaporate creating a nice seal.

    Do I need to add oil or do oil change after installation?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 роки тому

      Neither are required. The catch can system is not directly related to the oil system of the engine.

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  2 роки тому +2

      Catch cans will catch the oil vapors traveling through your intake system. This will have no affect on your oil.
