This is my daily driver, and it most definitely is a workhorse. I was using it while designing on CAD with zero problems. Love it.

My daily workhorse is a P1 gen6, a great machine for my needs. It has a lot more performance than I need most of the time. It is an outstanding laptop, I highly recommend.

Andrew made a good point in this presentation of the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Mobile Workstation which is that some people might use this as a desktop replacement and as such, battery life and the fact that it is thick and heavy are basically mute points. As a professional workstation, it has a reasonable price and as Andrew also stated, companies that buy this in bulk will get a substantial discount from Lenovo. The webcam and internal mics are all clear, bright IPS display and excellent port selection makes this the perfect product that will get your professional work done at the end of the day. Thank you for the very informative review Andrew! 👍😁

Impressive PC. Camera and mics are very good. Keyboard layout is excellent. Nice to see a full size numpad that is designed properly for full functionality. Like the upgradeability and also excellent port lay out. Battery life not an issue since most users will use this plugged in anyway. Display is excellent. Since this is Intel based no real problem with most software etc. Another quality excellent review.

    My review of the laptop:
    - the keyboard typing experiences is hell for the wrists - they really tried to make it as uncomfortable as possible with the numpad (pretty useless for everyone) shifting the keyboard over and what I can only describe is razor blades they put at the bottom edge where the wrists go. It is a lot more mobile than you'd think. The key presses feel cheap.
no ethernet port is a hugely dumb thing, very confusing why they couldn't just add this. there is definitely room for it.
The speaker is beautiful, the screen is beautiful.
The Ctrl key NOT being the bottom-left most key over the FN key is an interesting choice. seeing as the Ctrl key is used WAY more and it should be easy to find.
The finger print reader is good but not great.
They put razor blades at the edge where the wrists rest.
I'll say it once more, the edge where your wrists are forced to sit is not comfortable at all. Huge, brand-destroying oversight. Also, 20% of your left hand is forced to rest on the track-pad which isn't great, this doesn't really cause any issues though. I would've laid out the edges and keyboard much differently.
Finally, having a proprietary charger specialized to your brand in 2024 is evil, stupid, wrong, immoral, braindead, evil, really stupid, evil and awful.

@andrew. Thank you for your professional reviews. I am an architect and I am not sure I understand all Lenovos variations of the laptops. I would like to understand the main difference between new Lenovo Thinkpad P14s gen 5 and Lonovo Yoga Pro 7i Gen 9. Seams Thinkpad p14 is done for the profesional graphic work, but Yoga Pro 7 is much more powerful. It would be great to explain the conceptual difference in these two in one of your videos? Thanks

It was given to me as a demo by Lenovo, I can say that it is like a miniaturized server. Two things are missing, fan noise and ethernet port. Other than that, it's a great device. Thanks for video.

    - ThinkPad T14s Gen 5 (Intel)

Just received this unit from work, and I've discovered that it's plagued by a known bug regarding the sleep mode.. at least for these specs: i7-13850HX / 64G / nVidia RTX 2000 Ada / 1T NVME
Basically, the fans are not stopping when the unit is put in sleep mode (regardless if it's being charged or not).
There's a whole thread on the Lenovo's forums about this and so far there's no fix in sight for it (topic: 'ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 Fans Always On While Sleeping')

Guys / @Andrew, I have a question since I bought my P16 gen2 a year ago. Can I charge its battery using only the thunderbolt 4 cable? If so, what cable is tested and recommended for this, in addition to the gan charger? Or can I just charge the battery using the enormous official 230w charger?
