Have a single cam as a toy and a back up w/ 180k miles. Absolute best video and awesome to see these cars still being taken care of!

I wish I could’ve watched this video 26 years ago when I bought my 2 year old SL2 for $9300. This guy covered TONS of stuff that I had to learn on my own. 🙄Hoping to hit 300,000 in the next couple years. She still gets 36-40 mpg depending on how much I coast! 😂

Thank you, really appreciated! Those Saturns with proper maintenance were no frills cars that were very reliable and could last very long with exceptional fuel economy as you stated. They had automatic solenoid problems and clutch nut inside auto transmissions that had problems but weren’t too bad to fix.

If y’all plan to do your upper motor mount DO NOT get the “frowny” mount. (Rubber part looks like it’s frowning lol). Get the factory style mount. The frowny will fail in short order. Once you replace that upper mount, you’ll feel like you’re driving a NEW car. 😂

Absolutely fantastic video. Great camera work and walk through. Might be having to do this on the SL2 I just bought.

I also have 02 SL. I had couple rocker arm break, replaced them and when fired it back up another rocker arm broke and lifter broke. I debating on whether or not it is worth it to rebuild the head. I paid $500 for it and it has 365,000 on it which I only put on a 1,000. It needs a new muffler as it doesn't have one and a new sway bar. The big problem fixing it is money is tight for me right now and I'm working on it shade tree style.
