Other Shop Tried To Screw Customer?

This customer brought in they car to have the inner tie rods replaced because another shop told him they were bad. After looking at the car the tie rod adjustment locking nut was left loose causing the play in the tie rod. Did that shop loosen It? I do not know but they should not have tried to sell him tie rods. So I tighten it up and no more play but the steering wheel was not straight so I am going to do a alignment on it.

If that was left loose long enough I would think it could wear and damage the threads, eventually letting go.

Yep very dangerous. It did tight up and should have no problems.

I doubt they’re trying to screw the customer, that just seems like ignorance. Either way, good find
