Are you out of your mind? Aerofighters Assault completely mops the floor with those primitive Ace Combat games.with large scale battles, more impressive controls and flight physics, tough bosses, and enormous variety in level design. It even has a number of awesome hidden levels.
@@Fortefyre Sigh. I can't believe I have to explain this to anyone. It is a sad fact that the best games don't always make the most money. I know they were also working on a Harrier game that got canceled. I kind of lost track of them after the N64/Playstation era and have no idea if they are still in business. Look. I'm not trying to bash you for having a different opinion but I believe you have a responsibility to at least put a little effort into learning how to play a game properly before spreading misinformed views online. God knows there is already enough of that. Aerofighters Assault is a unique game that melds the sensibilities of its' shooter roots with tons and tons of enemies, bosses that can take a beating, and super bomb weapons into a flight sim. I will always prefer old-school 2D shooters but I would love to see a new U.N. Squadron in this style too. Don't be so quick to dismiss it. I highly recommend Volk for you're first playthrough as I think his long range main gun makes things a bit easier for newbies. It is one game you'll probably want to set to easy difficulty as well and like I mentioned elsewhere set the flight controls to realistic so you can properly dogfight and chase down the other pilots.
Alright. You took the time to write a well written exposition, I'll do the same. Importing on mobile, so forgive me if I have any errors. I'm 31, I own 64 consoles, I own more than 4000+ games either physically or in DRM free capacities. I love flight simulator games, and if given the option to, I always set it to professional controls, and if given the option to, I exclusively prefer to set the view to being in-cockpit. Why? Because for 11 years of my life, since I was 18, I've been fixing F-16s. I'm also qualified to work on F-15s, A-10s, and U-2's, I respect companies that focus on that aspect of gaming, like DCS, Falcon, the works. I have played every game in the Sonic Wings collection, in fact I've beaten every game up until Aero Fighters Assault, including the two spiritual predecessors, Rabio Lepus and Turbo Force. I find the game to be sluggish, and a bad example of a flight Sim on a console that couldn't handle it. If the same game had come out on the PS1, it would have been a force to be reckoned with against Ace Combat 2. In application, the N64 game was splendid, in execution, it fell short. These views aren't misinformed because they oppose your views, that's not how perspective works.

@@Fortefyre How on earth do you think a game as demanding and ambitious as Aerofighters Assault would even run on a Playstation? Are you completely tech illiterate? Nothing on Playstation ever even came close to running that much detail in the terrain, the sheer number of enemies on the screen, all of the pyrotechnics and effects. You have got to be trolling me because no one is THAT disconnected from reality.
In other news, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver would definitely run better if it was on Game Boy.
That's all you took from that. I'm not going to engage with you further. There's a certain line where I just don't feel the mental necessity to endure your arguments. Have a nice day.
