girl i just made this a few days ago and today too, it was the bomb! i did let it marinate overnight and used dulse flakes instead of nori sheets, it was VERY fishy tasting. and thanks for introducing me to old bay seasoning, i just bought a big ol bulk size cuz i luv it. keep the vids up :)
The seaweed trick is so clever! I had a vegan fish fried rice at a vegan Chinese restaurant, that’s how they made their tofu/“fish” in the rice. It was sooooo good. I will definitely make this. 💚

That sandwich looks so good and crunchy. Very creative with the chips because that's one thing about tofu sandwiches that even when you fry it it's not crunchy. My hubby will love the sauce. I made this but I used a thick pancake batter and extra crispy panko crumbs and deep fried it my husband loved it the next time I might bake it. You can do the samething for a chicken burger add some vegan chicken flavor the the batter and bread crumbs yummy yum.

I just used old bay for chayote/mirlitons. Just drop them in a pot with some water and old bay and simmer for about 30 mins. After that you can cut them in half and stuff them.
I keep meaning to try the Quorn vegan fishless fish at my local supermarket but I keep forgetting, yours also looks really good, do you ever make pasta bolognaise and serve it on a bed of kale, the kale wilts and softens, but it's still nice and crunchy and with the softness of the pasta, veg and sauce, it's a nice combination of textures.
I've never tried them but they sound good and I've never had the Bolognase on a bed of kale but I can definitely see that being awesome....I love kale with pasta dishes but I always toss it into a pan to crisp up a little
Veggie Rose Your a proper chef, I would burn the kale, that's why I sit under the food, so it's not too dry, healthy aswell, for when you've had a few beers on Saturday night 😉 and you won't to take it easy, calorie wise 🤗
Vicky Kuhn yeah, I seen them on Emma Laird's channel, she did a review and they sell them at Asda at the end of my street but I keep forgetting and buying vegan burgers, sausages and vegetable burgers. Rose has a burger bigger than her mouth and she's holding crisps (chips) in her other hand, that's my kind of eating.
Someone's probably already pointed this out but in the UK (where I believe "Fish & Chips" originated) the word chips means French fries (rather chunky ones) and what you're using we would call crisps. Try modifying this sometime to fish & fries.

I just discovered your channel. I've been meatless for 20+ years, and the one thing that's always eluded me is a good recipe for fake fish. I've got everything else to a point that I'm happy with, but when it comes to the fish I have to go jump in the car and drive all the way to Philly to the International Market to pick up any kind of vegan fish. I'm going to try this out and I'm really really thankful that you posted this video!!!
That's the only this I really miss too...there is great quality of fish here in Philly for those who do eat it. I was obsessed with sushi or any raw fish really lol
I am good at Cajun cooking so I'm checking this out. I can teach Brits how to do fish and chips that will blow anything the UK has away. The Nori wouldn't do it for me flavor wise. I just created Vegan Cajun Hogs Head Cheese - The secret is you gotta have pork flavor. I used Morning Star brand veggie dogs because those Really taste like pork. There is no good fish flavor substitute out there.
In Australia we say chips. But say hot chips for the fries and just chips/potato chips for the packet chips 😂 But as a kid I love to eat chips on a sandwich 😂 I loved chicken chips with Vegemite and cheese 😂👌🏻 This sandwich looks delicious.

You sure can! If you do seitan and want it to still be fish like...I would use the add nori sheets to the broth that you use to make the seitan for at least 20 minutes to give the broth a fishy flavor and the use that broth to make the seitan...unless your just going for a chicken type sandwich..which would be amazing too
I did minds with seitain, it came out more crunchy...when flavouring your seitain add old Bay in dry and finish with her batter but fry it instead of baking...🤣🤣🤣

Never would have thought of adding old Bay to chayote...but good idea😊
I use a bag cut open, about 2 tablespoons is more than enough, it would probably overpower pretty quickly.
I thought you would have put the Old Bay directly onto the tofu. Didn't seem like you put much in the flour.
