If you are using the beta Huion ARM driver, try disabling Windows Ink in the driver. That let me use the Surface Laptop with Krita and Clip Studio Paint.
I really hope they bring a version with Intel's Lunar Lake SOC. The Qualcolmm version is unusable for me. As soon as you don't use basic tasks or want to do light gaming, the machine crashes. I don't know whether this is due to the graphics drivers or the poor PRISM translation layer.
Having used the 15-inch version, I concur with your assessment. Its primary drawback is its high price in the UK market. The upcoming AMD and Intel processors will likely offer similar performance at a comparable price, with fewer compatibility issues and significantly improved graphics capabilities. Additionally, the battery life is much closer to the Snapdragons. Considering these factors, it becomes challenging to recommend this generation of the X Elite in the premium ultrabook segment. However, if you are a basic user who prioritizes exceptional quality and long-term reliability and is willing to pay a premium for these features, then this is undoubtedly the best X Elite option available.
Battery life has always been the downside of Windows laptop. If AMD and Intel can cross the 10 hour battery life mark easily, that would truly be amazing, because their battery life has lagged behind Macs for so many years. The fans not sounding like the laptop is going to take off would be a huge bonus.
10-core should be powerful enough. But most importantly is whether the apps you use are compatible with Snapdragon processor. E.g. Adobe Premiere Pro is the 2023 version, and even that has many bugs. Not sure if DaVinci Resolve has ARM version yet.
There aren't many budget tablets with pen support. The cheapest decent one is Samsung Tab S6 Lite 2024, and the next more expensive is the iPad with Apple Pencil sold separately.
@@teohontech7141Please mention that the pen pressure stair-casing while touching the screen bug from the SP7/SPX era is back on the SP11. Please don’t naively blame bad looking line work caused by that bug , on MPP pen jitter, like Brad Colbow and MobileTechReview did. Thanks in advance.

@@teohontech7141 The Slim Pen 2 performance is noticeably worse on the SP11 due to this pressure bug. Also, Brad Colbow's SP11 line art looks like it suffers from this bug, but he doesn't realize it. MobileTechReview's SP11 review also doesn't add up, since she was praising the Slim Pen 2 in her SP8/9 and SLS1/2 reviews, but for the SP11 review she suddenly parroted some straight line issue. I actually thought about that. I went with A R M because it has better clarity than ARM. E.g. people can listen, and know the letters to type when searching online. I don't assume all my viewers are tech savvy.

Does Huion actually has beta ARM driver? I don't see them listed on their download page.
@@teohontech7141 I had to contact Huion support directly and they gave me the beta driver to test out.

Could be game compatibility issues. Linus Tech Tips video mentions many problems with games

The Microsoft Surface Studio is designed more for graphic design. It would be great to see your review of that laptop. Thanks.
I have review the first Surface Laptop Studio and it works great. Pricey though.

I feel like for the high price, it being a "general purpose" laptop is not good enough.
True. I’m reviewing another laptop which is USD 369 that does the same things though not as powerful 😂
