    I like this review. It led me to getting the laptop, and am on it right now as I'm typing this haha.
    Having two monitors is definitively this laptop's greatest selling point. It's not the highest in performance, nor the highest in battery life. And although the build quality is good, the keyboard being so light also makes it the riskiest equipment to break on the device.
    But anyone on the go, ESPECIALLY travelers who legitimately cannot schlep around extra equipment such as monitors and keyboards, this form factor is nigh irrreplaceable IMO.

      what would you think about the usecase for school? specifically programming and such

    • @flipevent
      @flipevent 18 днів тому

      @@TryHarderrr General school? This would probably be overkill. A dedicated tablet would be better for artists (the stylus that comes with this is not THAT great--serviceable, but not great--, and a lower powered sub-$1500 laptop will more than suffice for a college student's needs.
      For a programmer though? I'd imagine the "book mode" of this laptop, where you'd have both screens standing vertically side by side, would be a godsend form factor. And, it does have the processing power to back up anything a developer might need to do.

    Finally a good and honest product overview.
    Almost all the "reviews" on youtube are just 10 minute ads where they lick asus' boots.
    What happened to honest reviews, having your own opinions and presenting pros and cons?
    I had to go digging to find anything that's not just an ad reciting what's written on the spec sheet.

      I did not test the keyboard battery life. Battery life should not be an issue unless you plan on using it undocked all the time for days. Because when you keep the keyboard with the laptop, it will be charged.

    I own this unit (32GB ram and 185H). I love it but it loses about 1% battery per hour of sleep, which add up to a lot in a day. That may be a deal killer for many of you. I'm only getting about 3.5 to 4.5 hours of use with ONE screen doing browsing and youtube.

    • @frufus1

    I'm considering switching from a Surface Laptop Studio (the first one with a 3050Ti) to one of these. I don't really game much, but I like to code on my laptop and flip the screen down to do sketching in Clip Studio. Having two screens would be awesome for coding. How do you feel the pen performance is on this device compared to the Surface device?

    I am a lighting and stage designer, and this laptop seems really interesting to me. Having the second screen makes programming easier, and also helps with stage designs. But I'm curious if the GPU is good for that? Because its not good at games, but maybe is it good for graphic stuff like WYSIWYG or Vectorworks? They recommend a card with at least 8gb VRAM, but i can't find out the amount of VRAM in the Zenbook duo anywhere... Would love to hear your reaction / opinion!

      This laptop may not perform well when it comes to rendering 3D. For modeling it should be fine. 3D apps usually benefit noticeably with a dedicated graphics card for rendering.
