- Join me and Curtis Rogers, from Midwest Farm & Land as we explore an 8 acre Pickers Paradise for the very first time! This is a cool, 8 acre parcel located in Southern Illinois that Curtis has just purchased, but it is loaded with 2 old homes, old tractors, old trucks, trailers, engines, old boats, old antique 'smalls,' tools, Old trucks and cars, and so much more to explore in this Pickers paradise! Join us for the unedited first walk through of this 8 acre graveyard of all of kinds of potential picker finds that await us! ALL of this stuff is officially now for sale! So, if you see something in this video that you have an interest in, you can email us at kapper@kapperoutdoors.com to be put in touch with Curtis about it! We are teaming up with Curtis to begin this massive land clearing project to help him start clearing all of this junk off of the property to get it cleaned up. I expect to be putting the Bobcat e42 mini excavator to work as well as the Bobcat T650 CTL skid steer! This will be another fun mini series, and there is NO doubt that we will run in to all kinds of snags and setbacks along the way! By the way, this property can be purchased 'as is' right now if you are willing to do the work of getting it cleaned up! This can be a great entry level hunting property, or land investment as it is located deep within the heart of the Shawnee National forest down here in Southern Illinois. Also it is only a few minutes from our Kapper Outdoors home farm, so we could probably help develop and manage it for the right person! Thanks for joining us today on this new pickers paradise adventure and stay tuned for more future episodes as we start to dismantle this humongous land clearing and cleaning project! Thank you. Kapper Outdoors, living the dream, one acre at a time.
Kapper at the 21:06 minute mark it looks like the tail of a rat or a snake moving under the object you are picking up, go take a look . Either that or I`m seeing things.
oh c'mon man!! Don't be sayin that! lmao. I'll have to go back and take a look!!!!
@@kapperoutdoors I may be a few seconds off on the time but you pick up a black box and as you pick it up a tail moves it looks to me like a snake tail.. its there, watch again around that time frame it will give you a shiver
20:57 mark
Just a reflection on the plastic, if it was a tail, it would have been going into the printer and there wasn't a hole big enough for anything that big to fit, that fast.
@@scottstewart3884 Yup, definitely a reflection!
Cool place to explore! A lot of good stuff to check out and salvage!
Well it is going to be quite the process of trying to dismantle it all!! Fun stuff though.
That Curtis is a hoot with his Texas chainsaw and his ghost stories
lol he sure is!!
Cool, I always enjoyed looking at junk
Glad you enjoyed it. Always fun to search around a place like that! Thanks
Man I would have a blast searching thru this place.
Yep we did have some fun for sure! It's almost all an empty lot now!
Some neat stuff there, but all I kept thinking was where are the snakes hiding??? LOL
lol yep, no doubt! But I think it is cold enough now they can't move to fast!
Great video Kapper. Would love to see that placed cleaned up. I bet it will be beautiful with the pond.
yeah no doubt! I'd love to fix it up once it gets cleaned up. It lays out pretty nice for an 8 acre farm!!
Looks like you need a lot of diesel fuel and a match to make a dent in that methed out paradise!
lol, I'd be afraid to light it all up!! It will be interesting to say the least to get it cleaned up!
Wow! An unbelievable pile of stuff there! That old well pump would look good in the yard at the Kentucky place!
you bet! We already grabbed that thing! lol
That is the Auger, and the cone thing as you called it , is the fenders of the case tractors, kool nice 👍 BigAl California.
Good stuff. Nice prizes we found! Thanks.
Always wondered what it looked like back there. Stuff everywhere !!
Come and take some of it off his hands! LOL
You two are cracking me up. I’m going back to see what videos I’ve missed and tell Curtis he might have found himself a gold mine lol 😂
lol, we did find a few treasures buried in the brush!! Thanks
What fun. Love treasure hunts in old collectables. Never know what goodies you may find...or critters. But boy the work to clean up all that crap. Good luck to ya curtis 😉
yeah you ain't kidding, but should be some fun built in to cleaning it up!
@@kapperoutdoors if I was close I would help just to dig through what was there for curtis. The thrill is in the hunt not the treasurer. Sure you know that. Happy digging 😷
Hey kapper you should consider maybe one of them mobile home frames for your Bridge over your pond they work good for that just a thought.
Yes sir, I'm on it! That was my first thought too, lol. I'll but cutting one to length, should be perfect!! Good call, thanks.
@@kapperoutdoors good man kapper now you just need to get some cardboard tubes for pillars set it on. Then weld up some brackets does sink into the concrete and you're good to go.
Wow! Nice!
Fun stuff right here! Thanks
Reminds me of home
I use to live in Illinois around effingham county and fayett county.
I’d be like a kid in a candy store on that property. It’s a miracle how much things you can get on the property.
lol we are all like kids in a candy shop here!! Everyone one that comes here stays for hours!!! Thanks and have a good one
With all these mobile homes about makes u wonder if this was some sort of commune 🤔 u guys have all the luck gettin first pick through that plot 💪 great video again 👍👍
It's yet to be seen if we have all the luck LOL. But we do have heaps of work ahead cleaning it up :-)
That’s a real job good luck
oh, no doubt man!!! Will be interesting to say the least! Stay tuned for the fun thank you
A friend of mine lived down in Anna when he was working in Olmsted, I always wondered if you guys were in that same area
On 24sec there's a deutz D13006. It was built in the late 70s here in Germany. It's a very rare tractor here and mostly be sold up to 50.000€
Its an undestroyable tractor.
Yep, a farmer who has one or two already bought it for parts! Seems to be pretty popular around here! Thanks.
I don't think that was a 3 point boom pole, it looked like the 3 point frame for the gear head and auger that was sitting basically beside it. The fender beside it is probably for the case tractor with the bushhog attached
Yep you are right, we both figured the same thing after I shut the camera off. Good call man!!! Cheers.
If he could find someone to haul those trailers intact he would be best off. It’s a lot of work to try and demo those and pack em into roll off dumpsters.
yeah he has a scrapper coming in to look. That sure would be the way to go, but I hear scrap steel is very low right now! So we'll see what happens soon.
Lots scrapping, lol, that boats got twins in it.
We started today with DAY 1 of clean up with the excavator!! Woo hoo!
Hey Kap! Buy it for Mrs. K for Christmas. You'll know where she is for the next five years.
Love those kind of places to go through and look around at all the things going to waste
yeah its kind of a shame. I bet all of that stuff worked when it was parked there, the guy used it for storage... and junk.
Wish I could call dibs on those trucks, can't from where I am though.
I wish that I lived close to you guys.
Yeah you'd probably have some fun with us!
The only patent date I managed to pull up on that stove is from 1942!
The cable is aluminium, it's probably worth more as cable than in scrap metal.
19:30 that's a proper mobile phone, a Motorola "bag phone", probably from the 90s.
Well that's pretty cool on the patent date! Everything here is and has been for sale and lots of it is selling off nicely so far. Thanks.
Deutz 13006 😍
Looks like a lot of first start videos coming.
Boat probably has two 4 cylinders or two 6s
yeah I think it had twin merc cruisers in it. A lot of this stuff has been hauled off, but we do have a couple of start vids, thanks.
Hey kapper its matthew through my channels profile. I would definitely get in there with excavator, skid steer with cutter and tow hook, plus chainsaw I would love to see you clearing the land enough to get some that stuff out of there. How fast will you be getting things down there to start clearing things. Ideally if it was me I would clear the fencing out from front and clear a space for you to park or fetch things in to start clearing site a bit. Then my next step would be clear a large area near the entry in to start pulling anything in there into that huge space so that you can then get skips in or truck to take the actual types and junk out. If I could get out there I would work for free to tidy the site up for you. My main priority would be dropping trees to clear site
A lot of what you said we are planning to do, good ideas! I hope to get over there next week and start freeing some of the machines he already has one or two of the items sold already. Yep we need a big landing pad with lots of room so we can load and unload stuff up near the front period stay tuned should be fun!
@@kapperoutdoors awesome bud I've loads planned and would love you to check my channel out or if possible shout out. Bud I tell you if I could come out over there I would work for free to help you lot and have fun clearing out the site for you. So rest assured I will be advertising your channel to mate who like this sort thing so hopefully they com check you out
@@kapperoutdoors maybe worth you contacting the American pickers as they love coming and buying stuff from sites like this. They even have there own tv show
@@Wolfsbaneexplorations I have tried them before on one of our MO farms, they were not interested. I think they need MEGA, low hanging fruit, all good stuff kind of picks for them to accept one, LOL. But thanks, it would be fun!
@@kapperoutdoors it would as I would borrow my mates asv skid steer with his fecon mulcher head slightly different from your blue diamond but has also different reach on it. So the two would benefit working side by side. Plus I'd borrow his robot cut mulcher he has so we tech have 3 machines working in one as the fecon will go through 3 foot thick trees no problem. Tho I'm looking forward to your videos and see how you go about making your landing pad first then see how youd proceed from there as a fellow operator maybe pick up few ideas or tricks
I couldn't afford this if you gave it away free! I can't even afford the taxes on the place BEFORE it was cleaned up! So good luck to whoever does buy it or you guys just clearing and cleaning it up.
Wow, Kapper please video when you take Mrs, Kapper. Be awesome to watch her imagination kick in gear. You passed two deer antlers ??
Kapper film Productions can make one heck of a scary low budget movie.
You have better cameras than when Texas Chainsaw Massacre was made.
Joe you have to play two parts.❤️. Sheriff and ? ?
I bet you could get one of those jet skis working. Cool for your lake. Like everyone else has comment a bridge ready made for the canal.
Looked like some cool Anntenna’s on the house.
I thought sure the marine would bust thru back bedroom door of that trailer. These are fun videos.
lol I'd like to tackle a low budget movie at some point! Would be fun for sure. Even though there is lots of work to do, it is fun stuff to get into!
@@kapperoutdoors no doubt in my mind you could do it.
That boat has twin engines.
Some old steel square tubing just sitting there that would build your bridge. Or be a project pile
no doubt, I'm going to cut and grab a mobile home frame for the bridge! That will be nice!!
When I was a kid running the hood oh sixty five or more years ago, we would set fire to everything we couldn't pack... folks got ahold of me and burnt all my stuff including my clothes... its a wonder I ever started smoking for what ever reason except seeing the Marlboro Man on his horse and so it was cool to smoke.. an so ever since and can't quit.... I have tried but was sick an misérible so didn't try that no more... now in my seventies, oh do I still try but just seems to make it worse. What a place. I'd go crazy exploring
Well at least you've already made it into your 70's and still enjoy the cigs! Not too bad ! Cheers, and take care thanks.
That Airstream Argosy motorhome could be worth some money. Restored ones are selling for $25k+ If that one is restorable, it's worth a few thousand.
Good info, thank you. This was all storage so I'm betting that everything actually ran when it was all parked there.
Deutz D 130 06, those are worth some money in Europe
Alot of work to do there guys. Curtis should be able to make some money off all the scrap
Yeah hopefully he can do pretty good on it as an investment. I will have the mini over there cleaning things up before too long.
Oh man you wouldn’t see Mrs K for six months! LOL
Well she has already went to dive in over there!!! Can't get her to come back home, lol
Let’s see a “will it start” on the duetz tractor
That would be fun. But it's already sold, 'as is!' Now the fun part will be getting it out and loaded up!!!
@@kapperoutdoors yes loading it will be fun
Interesting - Wonder what happened to the people and why all of this was left behind.
There is a story behind it for sure. Guess the guy was pretty ornery to say the least. It was part storage and part junk, but I bet a lot of those machines actually run when they were parked.
Are You all in the Polk County area by chance?
LOL, need to take the drone and grid the property off... this will take a while to clean up.
oh man, no doubt on the clean up! But we'll just pick away at it a little at a time. Will be fun stuff for the excavator.
On the bed...thats an old bag phone minus the bag. Circa early 90s
yeah I used to have a bag phone and it did not look like this one. It would have been cool for sure. looked like maybe a vehicle mount phone/radio. Thanks.
Cool video, reminds me of some of the Urbex channels I like to watch too.
NO doubt man, fun to creep around a place like this! Lets hope we can get it mostly cleaned up for him, he's working on selling anything that people want, then getting a scrapper in there.
Looks like it’s in Illinois maybe, !!!?? How close is it to Missouri of southeast Missouri ?? I have in-laws in Missouri by advanced Charleston, looks good thanks , BigAl California.
Maybe 45 mins or so to the Missouri SE border.
Curtis, what is the status on the the Case tractors and the Drugs?
The drugs are all sold already. Got another guy coming to look at both tractors today or tomorrow.
You wouldn't see Mrs k. For a month if she went there lol.........
lol I know! She already went there a couple times, I had to drag here out of there!!!
That old toolbox fit in your tractor? I'm betting two straight six mercruisers.
The wife said it was a MerCruiser and I'll have to check on that toolbox I think it might be a little bit too big
Dieses Video war wohl die erste Bestandsaufnahme, also gucken, wie es aussieht und was zu tun ist, stimmt es ? Es ist in jedem Fall viel Arbeit und auch nicht ganz ungefährlich.
Hey have you sold the 130-06 Duetz tractor yet
Yep the Deutz is sold, sorry.
American Pickers need a phone call......Lol Probably a lot of asbestos in that house Kapper
lol probably! We are on a 'get it done asap' timeline!
I thought this was going to be a Mrs. Kapper's video.
I let the boys have fun first 😉😁
her vids are coming next! She went exploring several times already!! lol
Is this down the rode from your place in Ky and is the property for sale.
It's just down the road from our IL farm, and yes it can be for sale! Reduced price if you clean up. If you are interested look up Curtis Rogers at Midwest Farm & Land!
@@kapperoutdoors Thanks if it's in Il. I'm not interested. I thought it might be the place on the right before you get to your place in Ky.
Price as is??
Boat probably has 2 inline 4 cylinder engines.
I think the wife looked it up and said there was one mercruiser in it 160 horsepower... Maybe next time I'll climb in it and see LOL
Got some neat stuff there...lol...but I got enough stuff of my own...
Darn, are you sure? We could load you up with some junk! (oh wait.... I mean 'treasures!!') LOL
@@kapperoutdoors lol...yeah I'm sure, thinking of having an estate sale while I'm alive so I can use the money...
Kapper, did you or Curtis buy this place? Or is it just Listed with Curtis.
Curtis bought this farm.
@@kapperoutdoors LOL, You guys have a JOB in front of you on this one.
Yep that's for sure! But hey life is short so we're trying to have some fun LOL
If you got any mopars I’m looking P. S. First
I think there were 2 dodge trucks. One for sure though
I bid 1$ fr all the copperhead snakes .
how much for scrape blade
He decided to keep that, he may need it down the road, sorry.
You see cool I see junk lol 😂
A lot of it is! lol. Machines!! Woo hoo!
@@kapperoutdoors I must say your selling more than what I thought you would. I watch like 6 or so of your videos today. It something different from what I normally watch. I subscribed and give you guys a try. Am going to watch your new one now.

What’s the price on the old Deutz??
I think he's already sold that.
@@kapperoutdoors well dang.
Can you sell the tractors for parts and then have a big fire !!!
yep, the tractors are all gone already, you should check out those snafu vids on loading them!! No bon fires though, at least not yet!
So what happened to the owners of this property?
Least valuable thing. A damn vw. Hahah
Were located
Simpson, IL
Ya, places with tall antenna are creepy... uh, but not yours... ;-)
ha ha good one!!! lol
And now working ????????????
Isso tá tudicho abandonado meu amigo
Somebody could have their work cut out for them !😳
ummm, yeah I think you are right! But just a little at a time! I'll be bringing the mini excavator to help out and start things!
Logg jib
Could be, but it could also be an auger, did you see the auger standing right up next to it? Be fun to see if the auger connects. Thanks.
Looks like you might need to call in some pros for this one, like Mike and Frank. LOL
lmao, we could call out the WHOLE A TEAM!!!
I bet there is a stash of cash on that property
Dang, we sure have been looking!!! lol
Well you know they say one mans junk is another mans treasure but this is one mans junk will be another mans junk! You might be paying someone to take 90% of that stuff away.
Too bad that it's in Illinois.
yeah, otherwise it could probably all be buried!!
the only thing that has any value at all is the tractors and that would be scrap price in that condition !!!!
Well, he already sold one for nearly 3k! And the check has already been delivered! But the other two tractors... Yeah I kind of agree but he might get some cash for them. The Deutz brought the cash.
I see old oil cans & I have friends who pay good money for them and that old gas can on the table is very fine.
There is a lot of stuff there that diyers would gobble up. Not for a lot of money, but keeping it out of the landfill is the point. Note: plastic drums, propane, welding tanks, steel cable. Really good diy guys can make something out of nothing.
The place needed a woman's touch.
LOL just posted Mrs. Kapper's latest video over there!!
What are you going to do with all of that junk? Scrap is to low to haul it right now. You would go in the hole on fuel.. the oliver and case tractors look like the only keepers to me. Didn't get a good look at the backhoe
Everything is for sale, or for free! Hopefully he can find a scrapper to come in for a lot of it.
