- 12-15-20, WILL IT START!? 1971 International 1310 Grain truck. Join us for a fun episode coming at you from Southern Illinois, this is on my friend Curtis Roger's 8 acre investment property that we have been working on for awhile now. While we are not junkyard129, biggerpockets, flip or flop, or any other scripted investing type of show, we ARE living the dream of country living, having a lot of fun doing it and keeping it real here every single day! In case you missed any of the previous episodes of this 8 acre property series here is the playlist of the Dismantling new 8 acre Picker's paradise land investment! • Dismantling new 8 acre...
But today is going to be the 'Casey' show as he has been working on this old 1971 International 1310 grain truck for nearly 2 weeks now trying to get it running. Ron & Casey have negotiated a trade on some of these old vehicles in exchange for a bunch of clean up work on this 8 acre investment property (kind of like a junk yard lol). Curtis, myself and Mrs. Kapper will be continually working on this property, and of course we are going to have some fun doing it! Thanks for joining us, we hope that you will subscribe to join us on this latest land investment project, as we still have a long way to go to get the old vehicles, mobile homes, buildings, trees and more removed and cleared so that Curtis can put it up for sale. It is a very nice 8 acre parcel in this beautiful Southern Illinois small town area! Kapper Outdoors, living the dream, one acre at a time. - Навчання та стиль
Good job getting the old International started!
Amazing how the old vehicles can set so long and still start. Can’t imagine today’s vehicles ever doing that
yeah crazy how that is! I would think 16 different sensors on a new-er one would not allow it to start! LOL
Anything that has never had unleaded or ethanol gas in it can sit for many years and usually start with very little issues and most issues is just dried out gaskets and diaphrams. put unleaded and ethanol gas in a vehicle let it sit a year or more and it will never run again without new carb or fuel system. Our great government fuels of today. I recently bought a 1946 dodge power wagon sat in an old dairy barn on the verge of collapse since 1954 I litterally put a new battery in it primed the fuel system with the old leaded gas that was still in it and cleaned the points and drove it home 28 miles with no issues never even touched the carb. I ran the truck around our farm for almost a month on the tank of gas from 1954 before it was empty with no issues wouldn't do that with today's crap we are forced into buying.
The old ones are pretty simple machines. If you can get gas and spark to it they will go.
Part of the problem with modern vehicles being parked up, are the computers and immobilisers, if the battery goes flat for too long, the immobiliser can lose it's code from the chip in the key (read by the reluctor ring round the ignition barrel) and fob (central locking), but all related. Only way you can get them running again, is either buy the computer to reprogramme or get into a garage or main dealer to do it for you, wither way, it'll cost at least £100, just to plug into the computer.
Nice thing about the old vehicles is, at the least, some fresh fuel and battery, maybe some easy start and 9/10, it'll run
Old school mechanic right there, country boy will survive 🤘🏻🇺🇸🦅
Roger that! Good stuff here on the Ron and Casey show!!
The patina on that truck is awesome.. love it
It really is!
Mr Kapper thank you for filming the mechanic from the side while he was fixing that tire! Hugs!
lol you bet!
Just love to see ole iron come to life LOVE it
Nice. Always great when you can revive an old relic
Yes indeed! Super fun stuff!!
love seeing old trucks run
hoorah! Good stuff right here! Thank you
Will it start?
Casey says 'Yes'
Casey is what you would call the truck Whisperer he gets them going
LOL no doubt man!!!
Another one ready to go, well done. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy 🇬🇧
Thanks for joining us we appreciate it! Should be a fun ride
This Casey is a good one with engines.
I agree!! Great stuff right here! Thanks.
need longer videos
It’s fun to get old motors running but best to change oil and gas first.
The Binder runs! Now, if only you can find a J10 Honcho sitting around in there somewhere...
Amazing what you can bring back from the dead
No doubt! Love American ingenuity!!!
@@kapperoutdoors not just American bud it's good old bush fixes we do it over uk and my family in Australia do too
Nice! Can't believe you guys started it. Keep us updated on it for sure.
Will do. I think they want to drive this one out of there!
@@kapperoutdoors Now that I want to see.
Alright! it started,
Great going and you got to stand and watch him get it started, now to get it moved out....stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep warm and dry.
That's the plan! Thank you
Well I think it’s safe to say that Casey didn’t waste his youth in a pool hall. Glad he was able to get it fired up
LOL, probably not video games either :)
It takes patience, a good starter, and a hot battery to do what Casey does. And maybe a set of points!
lol yeah I think he had to file down the points... twice maybe :)
NICE job
Thank you! Cheers! These guys rock!
I wish they made trucks like that again
yeah, you don't need 16 different computers to fix them up!!
My favorite vehicle on the property!
Roger that, it is a rusty beauty!
Engine didn't sound too bad when she fired up 🤔💪💪
Nope. They are going to be driving that one out I think on its own power. :)
Just some good old boys greatings from central illinois
Roger that, Cheers from the south end!!
hard to believe the truck after all those years fired up and it took some pile of cranking amps
It ALIVEEEEEEEEE! ☠️
I WANT THE GAS CAN❗❗❗ THE GOVERNMENT SCREWED UP ON THE NEW DESIGN👍😂😂😂👍
I had a 73 ih pickup it was a great truck
We had a 71/72 1310 with a 10’ box on it that we used to haul Mail. Cut my teeth on that truck!
Good stuff, looking forward to seeing this thing drive off on its own power!
Them tires and wheels belong to the Motorhome there beside them !
Man I would love to have that and the wrecker
yeah I probably should have bought both of them! Oh well, they got a good new home.
I would like to see him drive it out of the yard. Great video 👍
I think that IS the plan!
It's got a 345 engine
Not even one fire ball out the carb? Or backfire out the exhaust?
LOL what you saw is what you get!! Must have been a 'tame' restart after 20 years!!! :)
shes mint 👌
It sounds like Kapper is picking up Casey’s accent...
ha ha! Maybe so! lol
given some tlc, that could be turned into a great truck for someone.
yeah no doubt, I want to see it really fixed up!! Thanks.
I'll swear I can smell that gas!
Like Stoney Ridge farmer says---Whoooooooo. Where there's a will there's a way. Always a use for an ole clunk bucket.
It lives
After all the yrs. setting and it ran.Good deal.
No doubt! Good stuff, thank you
that would be really nice if you guys are able to drive it out of the property without help. good luck! :D
That's the plan! I hope they can make it happen.
Hey Kapper, really enjoying your mini series, especially the old IH trucks. Any idea how long they have been sitting? Keep up the good work!
Not sure but by the tree sizes that have grown around some I'd say a decade or so for some, probably more for others.
Hope to see that truck saved and not scrapped in future vids coulda used parts from the wrecker in earlier vids to fix up the body on that one if you kept the wrecker to
The wrecker was sold to a different person. This one will be made to run again for sure, I hope to bring some updates, thank you
Awesome to here great content look forward to seeing more of the truck and other equiptment yall might save as well
Purrs like a kitten
Well.... almost! LOL Can't wait to see it moving under its own power!
what yall doing with the vehicles? and cool revival
Is that a 345 cu inches v 8 in that old corn blinder
It is an 8 , someone else said it was that engine
Drive her on down the road! LOL
pretty soon that will happen!! Woo Hoo!! Yeah baby!
"She's a turning" but not a burning... yet? ;-)
Soon, soon... :)
Is Casey on Moonshiners
Where in southern Illinois are you guys I'm bout the middle of the state next to Wabash river
Down by Vienna, IL
Well she runs and if the gas tank holds gas, she may drive out of her grave. The old suicide rims on that tire bring back memories.
Yeah they are changing out some parts on it, so I think that is their plan! Woo Hoo! Go man, Go!
or the dodge
How can someone like me get some stuff that you find
Well Curtis has all the luck! We usually pay more than what the property/stuff is worth! LOL. Gotta always be on the lookout for the places that other people are afraid to clean up :)
@@kapperoutdoors by the time I usually get it people have salvaged what they wanted with or without permission
100
What do you want for this 1310
I'll ask them today if they are going to sell it or keep it.
V8?
Yes it is
is there anybody want that truck and is it in good shape
Well, they bought it, as part of a deal on this farm! No doubt they'll get it moving soon!
