- One of the common questions you ask yourself as a beginner in combat sports is how to choose the right pair of boxing gloves. Whether you are about to start Mixed martial arts (MMA), Boxing, or Muay Thai, or you are already a professional fighter, here is some expert advice to help you to make the right choice. The following points are several criteria you should pay attention to:
1. The size (or, more precisely, the weight of the boxing gloves)
2. The material of the boxing gloves (synthetic or genuine leather)
3. The type of padding (injected foam or multi-layer foam)
The best option is to pick "universal" gloves that would be suitable for all kinds of training: heavy bag workout, sparring, focus mitts work... Nevertheless, some athletes prefer having different kinds of gloves: Sparring Gloves and gloves for Punching Bags.
Choosing the right model is crucial for getting the most out of each of your workouts. Watch the video below to learn how to choose the right model based on the way you practice. Still have some questions? Feel free to ask us below in the comments!
