If you're not gonna spar, wear any weight you want. Start with 16oz just to get your hands familiar with punching. Make sure you wear hand wraps and wrist support. A lot of people who aren't used to punching, jam their wrist when they start punching hard. The hand wraps also alleviate some of the pain on your bones/knuckles from punching the bag

Yes it does, the more padding on the glove…the more likely it’s going to protect your opponents from your power..like Mike Tyson for example, he use 16oz for the bag but since he hit to hard. For sparring he was only using 18oz for safety measure of his opponents

I don't understand your reasoning... My take: If you are always going to use 16oz for sparring, why would you ever train with 12oz? I'm personally always using 16oz.
with smaller gloves, you can focus more on accuracy and personally, 16 oz on the heavy bag hurts my wrists, i feel like there’s just too much padding. I guess higher output means that you can put out more reps, which means you’re drilling your technique more in one session

I’m going through the same thing lol except I don’t have 12 oz gloves
Ive only ever used 16oz gloves, did you enjoy the training with 12 oz because my gloves are messed up at the moment so im looking to replace them
I remember when i first start boxing my friends and me would spar each other with bag mitts and no head guard 😂
Im about to start training boxing and what size of the glove should i buy? Im 18 but 5,3 should i buy 12oz or 14oz
"You gotta fully entend your punches and throw real punches"... 2:27-2:37
Practice what you preach 😂
The big dudes in my gym spar with 18oz gloves.
Uh….I’ve been training using 3lb rubber dumbells all this time, what oz glove should I buy if it’s my first one?

Which one is better for sparing
I box with 16oz, what does that mean?
Nice video... in your opinion, for professional boxing, do you believe bigger gloves are safer? Should heavyweights only use 16 oz gloves? Or smaller divisions use 10oz gloves?
Damn I been fighting bare knuckles…
Question, so if I’m going to be punching an aqua bag for conditioning and no sparring. Also my wrist is small with skinny fingers what’s the best glove you suggest?
If you're not gonna spar, wear any weight you want. Start with 16oz just to get your hands familiar with punching. Make sure you wear hand wraps and wrist support. A lot of people who aren't used to punching, jam their wrist when they start punching hard. The hand wraps also alleviate some of the pain on your bones/knuckles from punching the bag
Wotabout 14 oz gloves for a beginner?
2:20 the mariokart countdown sounds!! I see you
6 ft 1 in at 137 pounds, thinking of my next pair being 14 oz
Damn bro, I’m 6’1 and 155 pound and I feel skinny af.
@@benromeromontoya9493 I’m 6’1 and 185lbs but I’m skinny fat
1:30 did you just say inefficient and get more results ??? so confused
awesome vid thanks man
hey man help me out, I'm 177cm and 88 kg. I lift weights for 3 years. And started boxing just for fun,not gonna compete or anything. Just some bag work. Which size should I get as my only glove?
just here to see what's different for jake paul and mike tyson fight
Hi I’m 138 lb and have only ever trained with 10 oz but it is a casual gym that just so happens to have two lunch bags. I am now going to try 14 oz as the switch to 16 Oz may be too big a leap for me?
Soooo would it be bad to get both? One for a tougher workout and the other to really feel your hits
I've been looking to buy the Fightcamp freestanding punching bag, but it's very hard to find. I am unable to buy it without a package
How long is that test of hitting the bag you did 60 seconds where can I find an app to test this power punch?
Would the 16oz gloves be better for a heavy bag? Will it protect your fists more than the 12oz ones? Also which are more common for sparring with
@Calvin Klein Enthusiast I got 16Oz im around 200lbs, is it okay if buy another pair 14Oz for partner drills heavybags etc?
Oz isn't about size of your hand tho?
if youre under 70kg use 16 for sparring and 12oz for bags (this should be enough to develop your power and create habbit to always return your hand in positions after throwing punches), dont listen to these crazy dudes bashing each others with 6s and 8s just be safe and have fun. 12oz should be enough to teach u how to let your combos fly on the bag or mitts and 16oz for sparring.
@Pawel was i talking to you pawel😅
There’s a UA-cam channel called hard to hurt (he’s a smart guy) and he talks about what gloves and what size to use for different things ua-cam.com/video/p4XxbXxONcs/v-deo.html Also ua-cam.com/video/oGaOghksqps/v-deo.html and for sparring ua-cam.com/video/Hhj2X07u9lA/v-deo.html
how about 14oz?? what are those for??
Good overall gloves
Just got some 14s felt like a good balance I guess starting off
if ur under 150lbs u need 8oz glove 12oz glove-(optional) 16 oz glove if ur above 150lbs 10or12oz gloves and 16oz gloves
You know what they say about guys with small hands
They suck at thick bar deadlifts
Hey so if there is no sparring would any size glove be okay for cardio workout?
For cardio yeah any size, just be mindful that the smaller the glove the more likely you are to fuck your hands up. And like TexasBJJ said, use wraps although I think that goes for using any glove size and isn’t exclusive to smaller sizes tbh.
@@tomhardy116agree been doing cardio in 10 oz for about a year now and taking its toll on hands even now I wrap them. Moving to 14 oz as been quite ignorant about weights until recently!
I use 14 oz
How do you like the feel of the 14 oz?
Ive only ever used 16oz no other size. If it aint broke
Damn I need to spar with 16 oz lmao my partner said my punches be hitting way to hard in our training sessions. Even when I’m just body slapping. Does the oz of the gloves matter for weight class as well? Or strictly for trainin/sparring variations.
Yes it does, the more padding on the glove…the more likely it’s going to protect your opponents from your power..like Mike Tyson for example, he use 16oz for the bag but since he hit to hard. For sparring he was only using 18oz for safety measure of his opponents
I don’t seem to find 160oz gloves
🤦🏽♂️
What? Those are probably the most common gloves.
@@iamapigeyedtraitorthatisin1319 14 are the most common with us
@@darthultor6365 where is this? I have all sizes in my gym but honestly 16 oz are by far the most common. Even smaller guys wear them for the bag and of course for sparring. 12 and 14 are great for bag work but for sparring we all use 16oz. There's a big boy here and he's the only one I've seen that uses 18 or 20oz.
@@iamapigeyedtraitorthatisin1319 the Netherlands mate. Most common atleast for beginners is 14. Only the heavys 16
Would a 14 oz gloves do both?
It all depends on what you're aiming to do 😉Check out our other BEST GLOVES video from just a few weeks ago ua-cam.com/video/rHepbZOCxfY/v-deo.html
As a stoopid 10 yo i used to do sparring with those small mma gloves, those really small ones
what oz can you guys recommend for a beginner? I'm 60-63kg by the way
My 12 ounce are tight and small on my hand
are bulls gloves okay?
I'm looking at purchasing a bag - is the 100lb necessary for these types of work outs? I'm under 200lb so my gut tells me no.
if you got any less than 100lbs, its gonna move around a lot, is that ok?
Lighter bags are best for higher cardio
Bro just said “if you want to make your workout more ‘inefficient’ and get more results”😂🤦🏼♂️
Which brand and model? I am joining my first class tomorrow, it says bring boxing gloves and water bottle and towel. Please help guys.
16oz
I got some boxing gloves from a yard sale. Is there a way to identify what OZ gloves I have?
If you have our gloves, there should be a tag in the bottom of the inside that lists the size!
I am 5'11' 193 lbs I have a rotator cuff tear in both shoulders what oz should I use for training light training light mitts etc thank you anyone
how about getting 14oz gloves
Can I just use 10 0z for training?
I'm an idiot, i read that as 120 oz and 160 oz
What are your thoughts on 14 oz gloves? If you want to talk about it here.
Question. I start training in the near future. Im required to buy gloves and handwraps. Do handwraps affect anything? Is it harder for my hand to fit into the glove with handwraps on?
Thanks
It prevents your fingers from 'breaking' when delivering a hard strike
use hanswraps ,artritis isnt a joke
I'm 6ft and Weigh around 198lbs what Glove would be best for me?
16 i Think. Source am 6 feet 2, weiging in arround 250 ish,and i used 16, going for 18 now
@@darthultor6365 okay mate cheers, I've got some twelves the other week as I wasn't sure, I tried on some 16 bearing in mind I have very large hands and the fit didn't seem very comfortable for me, I'll try the 12s for now and change the size up depending
@@James-tm7vm you of course have to do what's best for you. But if i Sparr with 12 ,i might take someones head off😅
@@darthultor6365 yes mate I'll probably use the 12s for abit of light bag work and when I get into sparring do you suggest I move size?
@@James-tm7vm yeah mate. You a big dude,so when you spar you hit harder. A bigger glove is safer for your hands and your partners head
I've been using 16oz weight 120 should I stay with 16s
OK so I’m a beginner I’ve been using 12 ounce gloves but should I switch to 16 for more conditioning? Though I’m only hitting bags right now??
I don't think so. You can do other stuff for comforting
ahora entendi gracias a este video compre de 14 oz deveria aver comprado de 12 oz
I been using 8 ounces
i just wanna box my friends for fun, what do i do
BRUH SAME
Bigger gloves just for safety. 16oz gloves and headgear would be ideal
samee
Punch them in the face when they aren’t paying attention.
6 oz gloves
Great video
So glad you enjoyed it!
@@FightCamp I ended up picking 14 oz boxing gloves
Im 6ft2 100kg looking to buy gloves not sure if i can fit in 14oz gloves? I would prefer 14oz as im beginner
You’ll fit in 14oz, unless you have some ogre hands that’s wildly abnormal, you should be fine. Just go down to your local Walmart or target and try on a variety of their boxing gloves to get an idea of how the sizes are.
What is the best size for training
12 i guess
12 most likely, you’ll be fast
I don't understand your reasoning... My take: If you are always going to use 16oz for sparring, why would you ever train with 12oz? Better get used to that extra weight and prepare your muscles as much as you can. What good is having "high output" with 12 oz gloves when training if then you are going to go and spar with 16oz? I'm personally always using 16oz.
with smaller gloves, you can focus more on accuracy and personally, 16 oz on the heavy bag hurts my wrists, i feel like there’s just too much padding. I guess higher output means that you can put out more reps, which means you’re drilling your technique more in one session
I am here because Tyson vs Paul is a 16 ounce glove . 2 minute round fight... Winner only by KO.
July 20, it says.
Today is Aprill 12, 2024.
Ding!!!
Guys im a beginner and Im just about to buy a punching bag however how do I know which glove's going to fit my hands?. Also about the weight,to be on the safe side is it better to buy 14oz? Because I dont have the money to buy another glove if i regret my decision. (I am sure 99% of the time i wont be sparring)
And over here me and the boys using 4 ounce MMA gloves for everything
Should yu use 10 oz gloves or 16 oz gloves for heavy bag
