    I have been waxing since the eighties back when I used Zymol Concours. Back then this was was slick, warm, and provided a ton of depth. Fast forward to today Gyeon Q2 Wax gives me a ton of gloss but it only lasts three to four months. I do really like the Glossom wax and Titan is just amazing. I use an eight millimeter dual action five inch pad to apply the wax and a twelve millimeter three inch pad for the tighter spots. Meguiars M16 is another special wax too but I will be adding Glossom to my toolbox soon. Thank you for a great video.

    Everything you mentioned in your video is what we look for in a wax. To be able to apply it inside or out in the sun, to be able to apply to paint and glass, a wax that won't stain the trim or gunk up in the panel gaps. And of course a wax that you can top to add gloss is a bonus. Great 👍 choice Phil.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +1

      Hi. That’s a good option for some people. However when clay baring it mars the paint and I have to use a da polisher to gently polish away the marring. So a wash and coat in one is not always an option. But if it doesn’t need clay barring and the paint feels smooth than yeah that’s a great option! Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼

    Great video as always ! Do you still use wax? Honestly I had some good ones but I started reading that it degrades faster after a certain temp and it gets to 3 digit weather here. Still testing that out on some hoods I have around but I wanted to get your take.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +5

      Thanks. Oh yeah we still use wax and sealants. For our full details or for customers who don’t coatings we use them. Yeah waxes and sealants even the best of them can last 3-6 months but it definitely depends on temps and how it’s kept. But regular washing and toppers is always the best defense.

    How does a liquid wax like that compare to a spray wax , love that little polisher

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +1

      Basically it comes down to a few things. If we have to clay bar a vehicle extensively it usually causes some marring so applying a liquid wax with a da polisher even with a soft pad will add gloss and gently polish away any marring left behind. Spray wax/sealant is easy and quick and usually reserved for vehicle's that we already polished or didn't need clay barring. This is just our experience and certainly not a rule across the board. 😎👍

    Is Glossome an Si02 infused sealant Phil or is it a polymer sealant? I was just curious as the Titan has Si02 in it. Good, relevant information as you always provide Phil. I probably trust your opinions more than any other detailer on UA-cam because you always tell it like it is and encourage people to use whatever they like or whatever works for them and always give practical and useful information. Back when I first started as a detailing enthusiast in the 1980's, I used the old original $3.99 turtle wax green goopy can of wax (the liquid version actually came in a glass bottle back then also for about the same price) an applicator, terry cloth towel, a bucket, and cheap car soap. But I got decent results. For the interior, usually Fantastic from under the kitchen sink and a bottle of windex. I did have an original "Little Green Clean Machine" for the interior fabrics which actually worked pretty fantastic. That was pretty much all you had. Nothing like what we can do these days with all the products and equipment out there, but decent. No fancy brushes, steamers, long throw DA's, hundreds and hundreds of various pads, ceramic, etc etc. It did work though and my car always looked presentable. When you graduated into more "intense" detailing back then, it meant you jumped up to either the Mequiars Deep Crystal three stage system (Compound, Polish, Wax) which you could get at Pep Boys for about $20 or less for all three bottles of product. Using a Porter Cable polisher, one of each kind of pad, and those three bottles of product, good gosh, your car was GLEAMING! At least for 1980's tech! This was way before the internet and the thousands of company's and products that exist for detailing. Granted, you did have to reapply that green turtle wax on bi-weekly basis, but it was pretty much what we had.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +2

      Hi Joe! So Glossome isn't ceramic based, its actually Acrylic and Teflon! But it can be topped with Titan, they work together. I wish I had started detailing when i was younger, I would have totally started this business sooner.
