Easily some of the best detailing videos on UA-cam!
No excessive commentary(like most detailing videos) or BS, just straight to the point of what works.
Normally I wouldn't watch a 20 minute detailing video, but this one easily kept my attention.
Great job!
Thanks so much! 😎👍🏼
Hey guys, nice work! I was smiling as I watched as I, too, did my buddy's '99 Boxter a year ago. He asked me to get it ready to sell. Gotta say, his silver paint was in a lot better shape and it buffed out nicely. For that, I used the TW One & Done compound and a Urofiber 50/50 - worked gr8. Kinda nice to do a smaller car - ragtop. It doesn't take long to get around the vehicle! I coated it, did the wheels, and interior. He then put it up for sale, and of course, it sold quickly. Great cars!
That is awesome!
Always enjoy spending time with you guys thanks for sharing your knowledge and thoughts with us
Thanks for watching!
Nice job!
The owner doesn’t deserve a Porsche. Maybe a Chevy Bolt.
Looking to get some nicer towels what are some towels you like for sealants/waxes and buffing off polish/compounds
Hi. Actually we primarily use the Kirkland yellow towels. They have always worked for us. But if you don’t like those try these

Hello guys. I asked a question about what you guys use to polish a car, before a graphene/ceramic coating? You recommended Dr. Beasley’s . Which one exactly? The 45, or the 95, I believe it was? Thanks again 👍
Hi. Either one will work. The 45 is there fine grade and the 95 is a medium grade. Basically a fine or medium polish. I mostly use the 45 myself.
@@MirandaDetailing Thank you guys. I appreciate the feedback, and knowledge 👍 Thanks again. When I order it, which would most likely be the 45, cause my paint is in pretty good condition. I just want that extra pop, before I coat it? I’ll order it off your page, so you guys get the kickback, if any? Great videos, and excellent work! Keep it going 👍
@@Ochtane101 You're Welcome. Here's a link www.drbeasleys.com/?affiliate=5450
Great job! I'm such a perfectionist that I'm going to find it hard to not want to make the paint as close to perfect as possible! Do you find yourself doing that also?
Hi. Yeah sometimes we go a little overboard. It’s hard not too sometimes.
@@MirandaDetailing How do you stop yourself from doing that?
@@ScrappersDetailing I basically have to step back and walk away for a few minutes and remember what it used to look like. Usually I leave a small unpolished patch to remind myself what it looked like before. Than compare it to what it looks like after. That helps a lot
@@MirandaDetailing Ok. Good idea. Will try that.
The fact that there was no contamination tells me that the hack job that was done was probably done recently.
Very true!
Awesome video and product review/content good friend
Had an audi that also was ghosting after paint correction and used koch chemie m3 micro cut purple label.
Just subscribed to your channel after watching your live interview with the guy from Phoenix EOD and Jamie the cleaner. This was a great video looking forward to watching the rest of the videos you have and new ones.
Thanks so much and welcome!
Wheel acid like meguiars and a brush on those emblems and boom 💥 they’re clean
Hey Phil! Came out great. What 3 inch polisher did you use? I’m in the market not sure if I what to spend on the flex PXE 80 looking for an alternative. Thank you .
Hi. I have a few 3” polishers. The flex is awesome. Very powerful and preforms great. I also have the Shinemate and I personally like it better only because of button placement. But both are solid options.
@mirandadetailing I don't mean to be nosy, but how much did you charge for that detail? I'm trying to figure out pricing when it comes to paint enhancement, 1 step and 2 step. Thanks
Hi. If you check out our website you see our prices for our paint enhancements and coatings.
Usually our paint enhancements start at $500
Awesome thank you very much!@MirandaDetailing
The DIY pad is closer to the firmness of the yellow Rupes I find. Worked well for me as well. Nice easy wipe off for the polish. I like the sprayable polish.
Thanks for sharing
Always use the product with their pad IMHO. It's probably designed for the best results.
True in some cases. I take lessons from many detailers in the business and they always encourage mixing different combos to achieve better results. But that comes with experience and understanding how the paint, product, and pads work together. Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼
Hey Phil. You think you could do a video for home based detailing businesses? Challenges?
That’s a great idea! I’ll write that one down for future videos! 😎👍🏼
Black paint is so hard to get looking good, you see every little scratch and defect sticking out like a sore thumb, but you made the Porsche look fantastic! Thanks for sharing yet another amazing video, and have a great day!
Thanks!!
Very well said in my detailing company I do pretty much the same thing as far as the paint correction goes. Most people don't realize just because one polish, pad, and machine combination works on one vehicles paint doesn't mean it will work on the next vehicles.
Exactly!! 😎👍🏼
Anyone not respect ful too you about this kind of help and education doesn't deserve to watch thank you for your time.
Thanks so much! 😎👍🏼
Another great video Phil always enjoy the longer videos. So much useful information and techniques involved. Thanks for the content and have a great week.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Phil is there any other one-step polish you would recommend for newbies like me that is similar to the DIY Detail gold standard? We can’t get it in the UK 😢
Hi. Can you get 3D One in the UK? That’s another great one step polish.
@gs_mick please ask your favourite distributors for DIY Detail.
@@diydetailofficial been in contact with them all weeks ago! Apparently one of them is waiting for you to send them products to try 🤷♀️
@@georgina_gsm they very busy. Give them some time, they will get back with you.
But yes that’s the 3D One polish it’s great stuff also.
@@georgina_gsm Thank you! we are resending products to C&S, our original shipment got lost.
Came out amazing especially what you started out with
Thanks man
nice job
do you have any video on how to remove orange peels from new paint
Hi. Sorry I don’t. We don’t offer that service because new vehicles paint is very thin and we would never recommend it.
Nice video phil! I'm sure the owner was thrilled the way it came out. Definitely ready for sale. 👍🏼🏆
Thanks man!
Awesome work✔️🙌👍🙏!!!
As stated before in my comments, I own a black 2015 Yukon Denali XL that is a daily driver and NOT garage kept.…..It’s a job to keep it up!! Lolol….As always, great video …You and the wife stay safe and be blessed 🙏
Thanks man!
Great job
The wife keeping you in check ✅️ . "We are not doing a correction." 😅 Sometimes, we do get carried away and forget what we are getting paid for, so it's nice to have someone there to help to keep us in line.
Exactly! It’s difficult sometimes not to go further! 🤣😎👍🏼
Hi Phil, so your secret to the grime around badges n emblems is water spot remover? Love your channel !
Bingo! Works great!
@@MirandaDetailing thank you, logging that into my solutions list. Need that trick often!
You’re welcome!
Just did a black car this week for a friend. It had tons of swirls/scratches probably from auto car wash and was 7 years old. I also used the DIY polish and their ceramic coating and it came out really good.
Awesome!! 😎👍🏼
Thanks for using DIY Detail!
GREAT job Phil & Jess!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks man!
Bravo !!!
I kinda love doing my maintenance washes in the rain. Let mother nature rinse my car for me, and not have to use my own water. I mean, she got the damn thing dirty, she can help get it clean! :D
Very nice job. 😊😊
Actually doing one paint correction today at grand Rapids auto gallery keep up the awesome work guys 👍
Ah the perils of black paint. Wonder how much your customer is selling the Boxster for. I like Boxsters of that vintage. Great job Phil you nailed it. Cheers to Yvan Lacroix his products are top quality
Thanks sir! 😎👍🏼
How often did you change pads?
It depends on what polish we are using and haw much we are polishing. We also clean the pads on the fly which keeps them cleaner in between panels. but usually we use about 4-6 pads per vehicle.
@@MirandaDetailing thanks
Phil
You didn’t remove the tires and washed the car with a steamer 😅
UA-cam recommended me with this channel where this guy removed the tires and used an steamer to wash the wheels, tires and car! With an steamer!
🤣🤣🤣😎👍🏼
Phil, you would definitely love one of these Shinemate backing plate adapters.
I'm just like you and 90% of anything I do is going to be on a 5 inch pad, so it's a pain to swap out to a 6 inch plate for some small temporary thing and then back to the 5 inch.
With this I can just store it right there with my pads and go back and forth between 5 and 6 with hardly a second thought.
I'm not sure if it'll let me post a link, so I'll try to post it but otherwise I'll send it over Instagram , and it's pretty easy to find at carzilla just searching shinemate adapter.
Cool. Thanks!
Great job Jess and Phil! Thanks for using The Gold Standard Polishing System And DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss. Next time to get you out riding your bikes earlier in the day, you can wipe off the polish residue using DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss.
Thanks guys!!
Your the man phil! My ceramic coat came awesome this past weekend because of ur tips! Thank you man!
Awesome!!
Great work! Knowing how to tackle the issues is half the battle. These videos are extremely informative. 👍👍
It definitely is. Thanks so much!
was hoping you'd do a little bit on how to clean that boxter badge. maybe a short at some point? :D
Hi. Oh I thought I showed that? Minute mark 7:40
to add to what they did show...it looked like old polish inside the badge. Optimum Hyper Polish is great at removing that sort of stuff. I haven't had a chance to try DIY Detail's sprayable polish but I believe it may work in a similar fashion.
It's funny about what process to use regarding section size. 2x2, an entire fender, etc. I used to do the whole hood, fenders, doors etc. I'd try very small sections and extremely slow arm movement with little to no improvement. Splitting hairs? You two get around the car quickly and always get nice results!! Love it!
gah! no lens cap on that lens on the shelf! you fiend!
🤣😎👍🏼
YES WE CAN!!
Looks great. Would you say that the majority of polishing you do is paint enhancement? Hi wife!
Hi. Thanks. Oh yeah, we do paint enhancements all the time. In fact most customers when they say paint correction don’t really understand what that means. Usually they just want a polishing to reduce swirls and not go 100% perfect.
1sy
Phil you should consider partnering with a local PDR guy in your area on jobs like this one another service you could offer a reputable one would work with you to allow you to keep a percentage of what he charges good for you and him and perfect for customers who don’t want to go the repaint route.
Hi. I actually do have an awesome PDR guy that I refer work to.
