The actual house design/layout looks so cool, cookie cutter suburbia is all I’ve ever lived around. I need to move wherever cool houses like this exist. Quirky quaint historic. Love it. Can’t wait to see the results.
In the few streets behind me they are all different. Mostly late 1800’s to early 1900’s all farm houses. They are so unique even the similar ones. Like a cottage yellow house with a beautiful porch. And houses with the swooping roofs. Even one where the kitchen is at the front of the house with beautiful big windows and you walk down into the floor where the dining table is. My grandmother used to live in the house next to that one. They re did my grandmothers house and it is beautiful, they kept a lot of the original wood and details. It’s extremely expensive due to it being in the middle of town but these houses man they have so much history.
Did you do any redo of the electric? Thsts so important now. It has to have electricity to accommodate computers, TVs, places to put internet in and places to charge phones, computers, iPads and all kinds of computer stuff.
Exactly!! I HATE all the housing development houses and apartments in my area. No lawn or TINY lawn, right next to each other, copy and paste houses. I LOATHE square rooms too. Give me rooms with shapes!!! Angles!!! Character!!!
agree, especially if they're renting it. those are likely going to get gross and dusty, attract hair and stuff, and the tenant might not like the look.
I 100% agree. She did such a great job it’s a beautifully designed room when built. Wow. But they are soooo bad. Even as a bed frame. Especially if u are renting it out people have their own furniture they will want to tear them out. Even thinking they are helping you upgrade lol.
Wow, what a sweet apartment! You are a very talented young woman. I hope you will keep the treasures you find and try to use them when decorating it. That apartment has seen lots of history and you can help preserve it. Bless you!
Are you putting any closets or wardrobes back into the bedroom? I feel like storage is so important in apartments and having nowhere to hang clothes would be a hard sell.
A normal movable wardrobe is 100 times better than a built in one. Easier to clean, to move around to adapt to different needs, and to personalize to one's needs. After living in a house with built in wardrobes, I don't wanna see one of those anymore. I'm gonna rip the ones in my new house asap.
I would say it doesn't and wont need it. Better to leave it be and let the new tenants decide how to use the room for. And thats because that room looks like a very good space as a work office or hobby craft room. Adding back an enclosed space like closets would take away from the spacious room as it did before. As the other commenter said, you can modernize and customize a closet space without necessarily it being a small room closet, a wardrobe seems like a better option to freely rearrange whenever
The house I live in was built in ~1949 using cheap lumber from the mill and reclaimed ammo crates from the Korea war that were redistributed back to the public to build with. The front room had newspapers lining the walls, I think as insulation.
Cute house I am English and love the way you talk about the age of the house. Imagine doing this to a home from the tudor era of the 16 century or older .I am sure it will look great in the end.
I love everything but the felt tiles it takes away from the design in the first photo, that looked amazing. Less is more. No base boards or trimming it closes the room in😮😮
I don't know if they necessarily put them there for other people to find, people back then just used anything that would do the job and nothing was wasted.
What wonderful relics from over a century ago. I would keep them and implement them somehow into your mom's home. It pays homage to its previous caregiver and it's also a part of history associated with the home. Its lovely. Hoping you find more exciting treasures as you renovate. ❤
That view and windows are gorgeous, definitely a great room for a work space office or hobby craft room. I can see it as a sewing room if it were up to me 👀
Omg the newspaper and sacks are SO cool!! I would love a tutorial video about how you replaced the carpet/flooring. My bedroom’s carpet is still the gross one the house has had since it was built in 1991 and I want to replace it soooo badly
I love how 1912 is seen as old in the US, that’s pretty much a new build in the UK 😂 my parents house dates from the early 1600’s and there are a LOT of layers of paint haha!
Finding the old newspaper underneath looked super cool and how was some of it not even damaged at all??? I have no idea, but this just looks super interesting
In old time if you do not have for paint furniture that has shelves is covered with white paper or what imitate very well the colour furniture can be paper or cardbox , cloth.

I love old houses, particularly built before 1970

I am coining the term "Cookie-Cutter Cluster Housing".
If you like the term, use it, make it grow.

You should frame the cooler newspapers as decorations
She used laminate flooring in a 1912 homes so IT will not care about keeping anything cool.
@@nothing2seehere34 I meant the ones that looked the coolest, as in the most stylish for design.
Yes.
Or use as wallpaper in a powder room or closet-
She did that when she redid her sister's room that's what the video cut is from it was a great room makeover!
Not feelin' the felt tiles..loved everything else❤
agree, especially if they're renting it. those are likely going to get gross and dusty, attract hair and stuff, and the tenant might not like the look.
I can’t imagine how you would clean them effectively.

Exactly...the green is ugly and limiting...if you HAD to... maybe black and white..
That’s so cool to find things like that… unintentional time capsules almost 😊

Thank you so much for not doing a subpar flipper special in this room! This looks great and I love the felt tiles as a bed framing aesthetic choice.
Wow, first time I'm seeing these felt wall tiles. How interesting!
You’re a good daughter! Well done! 💕💖💕
Wow! That looks like it will be a super nice one-bedroom apt! Love the size and architecture of it! Great job in the bedroom!
Looks gorgeous! Great job, girl! 🤩

I love the 3 window array in the bedroom! ❤🎉😊

Wow I would of Framed the new papers from the 50's as Art. Or placed on a coffee table and covered with Resin..priceless. 💯🫶💪🙏 Beautiful
That piece of video was from when she redid her sister's bedroom and she actually did you should go back and watch it it was great!
@@QueenMotherTrollthank you !
Resin 🤢🤮
What a crazy trip back in time!! Must’ve been interesting to see the years of history, if that little apartment could tell stories!😆
That is soooo much hardwork!! It is already looking lovely!! Can't wait to see the follow up videos!!❤❤Kudos to you, Annika!❤

@@blondesigns Oh awesome! Can't wait!
I love it when people put things in the walls for future renovators to find.
I don't know if they necessarily put them there for other people to find, people back then just used anything that would do the job and nothing was wasted.
I love all your designs! ❤❤❤
You did a very nice job, and I’m sure the new tenants loved it ! ❤❤
Love it❤What a beautiful home you did a wonderful job!! It looks amazing
Love those windows! ♥️😊👍

You are INCREDIBLE!
Looks like good progress so far.😊
❤ this home. You'll do it proud I'm sure
Looks like you just increased the fire safety of the house considerably. Good job getting all that burlap and paper out of there.
Omg I want that as my bed room so badly

GIRL I LOVE HOW YOU THINK💯
Renovating a house is one of my favorite things in life...second to reading, of course.
I love how 1912 is seen as old in the US, that’s pretty much a new build in the UK 😂 my parents house dates from the early 1600’s and there are a LOT of layers of paint haha!

As a soap maker, I appreciated the DIAL ad
You go girl!
Beautiful!!!❤
Well done. Pretty girl too ☺️
Very nice.
Those 50's news prints are worth some money.
Nothing like a chicka doing renovations🎉
As soon as I heard 1912 I thought Abt Titanic lol
The lumber you cut for bed slats would make good shelves…
Great job & creativity ❤❤❤❤
I lived in a house built in 1920, I was the second owner. When we pulled up the carpet in one room we found a love letter from the 30s.
👍👍😊
Nice
👍👍👍
ok but did you keep the stuff that was in the walls?? the final product is gorgeous thooo very spacey, loft, cosy, super light vibes
I wish I could do it too ❤❤❤
The trim and felt tiles need to be reconsidered!
