That's awesome!
Another TMF tour, that really makes my weekend!
Delighted to hear that!
Excellent Video Andy. Living in Worcestershire Wales is quite near thankfully, but I never grow tired of visiting Elan Valley. The civil engineering it took to build is fascinating. From the Valley water is transported to Birmingham without any mechanical pumps, purely by gravity.. Fantastic engineering
Yes something Mrs Flyer tells me about often being a fellow Brummie.....
@@TheMissendenFlyer good girl.... Never upset her she maybe from Peaky Blinders stock.. 🤔🤣😂.. Give her my best wishes from one brummie to another..
This is why I watch your channel 👍 I'm only in Shropshire so Wales is on the doorstep. Unfortunately the 20 limits get very old very quickly, and it seems to take ages to do a couple of hundred miles.
Thanks for stopping by again Trev!
Can't believe I've missed this one! The big wing continues to impress, on one windy section you took a very slow sharp bend at 30mph, the bike had selected 5th gear, as you rounded the bend the engine purred nicely as it accelerated you out of the bend exit, to think you are two up and it happily pulls such high gears at slow speed is a great demonstration of the bikes low down grunt, it must be such a pleasure to ride! The Elan valley is a very special area to ride as is most of Wales except when its very busy. Cheers!
Yes the big 'Wing is a mighty impressive beast - even on the tight technical stuff as you point out...love that thing for touring.
What a relaxing way to start my morning. Watching your video while enjoying coffee on my deck. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Morning!
Glad you all enjoyed the green green grass of (my) home! Soz about the soddin' 20mph limits.....we hate them here too!
Love the uk tour videos thanks for taking the time to film it.
More to come!
I love that Goldwing, prob the nicest colour they do.
I think so too!
Saving this for my Sunday morning....great to see you guys on tour again and the Wing out on the road, too!
Hope you enjoy the video!
Epic!! Absolutely outstanding scenic ride, and thank you for taking us along. 👏🇺🇸👍
Our pleasure!
Very enjoyable, charming video of Wales. Beautiful camera footage and quirky funny quips..🤣🙏
Really pleased to hear that - thank you!
Cracking Sunday morning viewing that folks. Beautiful scenery and production level brilliant. Looking forward to more of these. 💪🎥🏍️
Cheers Dave!
Excellent footage Andy, smooth clear rider's view and then there's Wales... Marvellous.
We are of to Wales on Thursday. We did the Elan valley two years ago and could well do it again this year. I liked the look of that B road to Rhayader.
I was brought up in the Pontarfynach and Cwmystwyth area, those lead mines used to be my playground as a kid :)
I'm glad the weather was good for you!
Very cool!
Very enjoyable Andy.
Also, thought your Gold Wing looked particularly wonderful more than I’ve seen it before, even when it was raining and wet. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it and glad you are getting an appreciation of the Wing, I thought it actually looked quite svelt next the the RTs!!
Only been to Cardiff once for a business trip. Nice video showing the stunning scenery Wales has to offer. Looks like a great trip.
It was!
GoldWing still rules and daddy of them all. great video mate greetings from australia.
Gretings back - and I agree!
Another great 'mini' tour video, from my favourite youtuber. Thank you Mr. Flyer, greatly assisted by Mrs. Flyer. Made extra special as, not only on the fantastic Goldwing, but a route I had planned for 2 years ago on a 3 week tour of Wales, incorporating visiting friends and family, before my health deteriorated. So it's not erased, it is hopefully just on the back burner. Keep them coming sir, and once again, thank you.
Sorry to hear of your health issue Gary, we take it so much for granted until we lose it don't we....all the best and thanks for watching and stopping by once again....
@@TheMissendenFlyer thank you for giving me, hopefully, many more ideas. Love your content.
Great thanks for bringing us with you all,, what a lovely bike journey ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️👍 from northern Ireland
Our pleasure!
Go on, look at those views! Absolutely beautiful. I must get up to Wales once I get my machine back on the road.
Thanks for the fantastic video TMF.
Pleasure is ours!
Great riding in wales and so easy to get too keep up the great vids Andy look forward to carol out on her bike now Andy 👍
Big touring bikes and a lush green damp Wales - doesn't get much better than that, especially from my point of view of being on sick leave in a heatwave summer of Croatia. Thanks for making my weekend!
Hope you're better soon!
Great video, thank you Andy (and team!). I went for my first bike visit to the Elan Valley with a bunch of blood bike pals last month and the magnificence of the surrounding scenery and the construction work layered on top of great roads and super company really made it a great day trip out from Worcestershire (and totally overcame the slightly dodgy Welsh July weather!). More like this, please 😊👍
Another coming very soon! Stay tuned
And out on the big bikes! Makes me value the RT even more, reminding myself, my wife and I must do a tour of NZ together sometime, or even just parts of it away from the heavy traffic. Wales certainly looks like parts of New Zealand! Thanks Andy!
Count me in!
Cheers for the vid Andy. A mate and I followed a Simon Weir 4 day tour around Wales a few weeks back. We had perfect sunshine, so lucky. What an amazing place, great roads and the most fantastic scenery. 👌👌.
Wales is awesome on a bike. Living in the Midlands can get to the heart of the great roads in just over an hour, always makes a fantastic day out, the roads just empty out once past Worcester. This last weekend did day trip to Hay-on-Wye and went over Gospel Pass both ways. Have never done the Elan Valley in that direction, must do that.
Great video and lovely scenery. Heading up that way next weekend with the mrs on our RS. Hoping the sun shines for us!
Have fun!
Great video, stunning scenery , and nice bikes 👍
Many thanks!
Many thanks for another tour video and it’s good to see you out on the mighty Wing.
More to come!
Lovely to see Wales, reminds me of my childhood holidays in Tywyn and trips on the Talyllyn Railway. Perfect trip for the Goldwing, I really hope your shoulder gets on the mend.
So do I - sadly no sign of it yet! Thanks for watching and for dropping by once again!
The footage at the Devil's Bridge was crystal clear, TMF . That is an awesome place!
Cool!
Your GW sounds sublime. Effortlessly powerful and creamy smooth. 👌🏻
Yes, it is, a large part of the reason why I love touring on it so much and makes for very relaxed riding two up.
You lucky devil...another superb vlog TMF ,...wish my Mrs was into bikes...sadly not, Wales looks stunning. however we're doing Ireland in our car next year...which i'm looking forward to,,,may have forgot to say congrats to MRS TMF on passing her test....and her new bike...
Thanks!
Thank you for taking us with you on that lovely days riding. I’m lucky enough to be able to get to Wales in the hour so have ridden plenty and I find riding south to north in Snowdonia gets you the stunning images of the mountains as you ride deeper into them.
Got to take a ride up north on my goldie sometime in the near future but for now I’ll make do with the Gower peninsula which is right on my doorstep 🏴👍
Cracking video has always lovely views
Mr and Mrs missenflyer 👍
Thank you Tony!
Beautiful countryside....Big bikes are always great on rides like this...thanks for sharing!!!
Our pleasure!
Thanks for doing the little walk at Devils bridge, at least weve seen what we didnt do. We did the big 1 earlier this year, it's was amazing, highly recommend. Love Wales. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks
So what’s “the big one?”
@TheMissendenFlyer it's a bit of a mammoth walk, especially in biking togs, it's a good 90 trudge down into the valley to fully see the waterfall there and views of the valley and bridge. A worthwhile effort in "normal" clothes tho.
Thanks for posting. Great videos as always. You mentioned the Tuscany tour, and we will be partaking on the tour in September. Looking forward to it, even though the temperatures in Florence have been above 100 F a couple of days this week.
You'll have a fabulous tine - you going with Tuscany Motorcycle Tours?
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes, my wife and I will be going.
Always love the touring episodes, hopefully you get over to the European tour.
Yes we are planning too later this year…
Great wales tour thanks for showing this. bike looks great. Winter over here looking forward to summer just done oil filter changed so getting prepared. Malcolm and Diana Melbourne.
Agreed Wales is so beautiful, its on my doorstep and i used to go on a regular basis but those 20 zones really spoil the trip especially when you've not got cruise control and your constantly looking down at your speedo.
Oh it's been a bit, since we've seen the Wing! Beautiful scenery ... Enjoyed !!! Cheers from dry, hot, Texas
Some beautiful scenery Flyers, thanks for sharing and hoped the shoulder passed the test ride.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes it turns out the 'Wing is about the only bike I can ride for long distance that is bearable (been on the GS for the last 2 days and it was nowhere near as comfortable as the Wing)...
@@TheMissendenFlyer
Hello Andy, have you ever given thought of changing handlebars or installing adapters for your other bikes that will change the height and or setback? I installed a set of Helibars on my 2023 Goldwing resulting in a much more comfortable riding position. Personally, I believe I have better control over the handling of the bike. I also installed a Russell Day Long Saddle, as my hips & pelvic bones could not handle the OEM seat for more than 75-90 minutes. Cheers, James.
Love to see this, thanks Andy, I really want to tour to Snowdonia too....Teapot says he can't be bothered with Wales any more, too many restrictions.
Yes I heard him say that on his podcast too, I couldn’t believe what he was saying and couldn’t disagree more Wales always delivers!
People loosing their minds on restrictions through towns. Bit sad really. You'd think the whole of Wales was 20🤦♂️
My main gripe isn't the 20's per se (fair enough through villages) it's that the limits seem to change a lot in a short distance, meaning you are forever watching your speedo rather than the road ahead. My undertanding is the blanket 20's are now up for review?
@@craigyllyn they have more than us
I can recomend to put some Rain-x or wax on that big windshield 👍
Great video as usuall!
Good idea!
Love your pronunciations, I am English and live in Wales, took me long enough with the names😂, the reservoirs are even lower now due to repair work on the dams. I lucky having this only a few hours away from South Wales
Nice vid as ever. Good to see the Wing getting some decent use.
Indeed it is!
Such a lovely area to ride. Carol & I stopped at the Hafod hotel at Devils Bridge, you could hear that amazing waterfall from the bedroom there.
There's another great walk the other side of the bridge with stunning views. Probably best not done in full bike gear.
Always good to see a tour. Thanks for taking us along
Yes I saw the other side looked good Richard -but as you say, a pig in bike gear!!!
We do this route every time we go to our relatives near Newquay. Always stunning.
Devil's Bridge to the Elan Valley is one of my favourite routes in Wales, so isolated it reminds me of Canada. Good film.
Thank you!
As a proud Taffy, I have to concur- Wales, when the sun is shining is World Class beautiful. But alas, that sun is a bit too elusive. This summer especially!! 😳
Agreed!
Good to see Big Blue out and about again. Wales is spectacular. Cheers from 🇺🇸
Would still like to hear Mrs Flyer a lot more. You make me want to visit Wales now though
Thank you for sharing we were thinking of going to Wales next summer
You should!
Spectacular parts of the world. I cycled it the other way round (Elan valley up to Devil's Bridge) on a bicycle tour just after lockdown ended, and had similar weather as you - wet (p!ssing down!) early in the day. brighter later. I'll be heading back that way next weekend on a motorcycle.
Enjoy...
Great place to stop off , need sun shine to enjoy the views down over the valley to the water below , nice video 🏴 sent my message before you went down to the water
Always good to see you both on the Goldie.
On one of your future trips, Mrs. Flyer will be up front on the old Goldwing and you will be the pillion!
I would love that! I’ve always fancied a go on the back of a GoldWing, the armchair looks so comfortable!
Or at least Carole on her mighty Kawasaki 650 as part of the tour party by herself!
Great scenery. What a great place to ride.
It really is!
Great video, I love the Elan Valley. Also, fabulous to see your Goldwing, more GW trips please. I get my new Goldwing at the end of August, bye bye GS. Can't wait to take the GW on some long tours.
We toured the 1st half of the Wild Atlantic Way (Cork to Galway) on the GS this year. Next year the 2nd half on the GW. I can't wait.
Nice one! ….and another mini GoldWing Tour is coming very soon!
The 360 out past the hand grip makes for a much nicer view for me/us through the windshield. Thank you!
No problem! And thanks for the feedback!
Enjoyed that one !
The weather makes such a difference to the views in ‘God’s country. 🏴.
Loved all of the pronunciations 😉
Aberdyfi/Aberdovey……’F’ yn cael ei ynganu ‘V’ yn Gymraeg, so it sounds the same.
A good tip there for us retirees, ride out early in the week 👌🏻
Yes exaclty!
Good to see you on tour again, Andy! I bet the CPS (Carole Positioning System) is just as good or better than the GPS and Google Maps.
I like that you are going through Aberystwyth - a small town that reminds me of a Limerick that would get us both banned if I recited it here...
I hope that one day you and Mrs. Flyer visit San Francisco. I will be your tour guide. We actually have sun here too. Fingers crossed you swing by.
We honeymooned in San Francisco and when I used to have a proper job I worked there for a while too, so know it well! Love the place…Where abouts are you??
Great stuff Andy. My mate and I did most of that ride yesterday. Via Shrewsbury, Craven Arms, Clun, Caersws, Llanidloes, Machynlleth, Aberdovey, Fairbourne and Bala. I love doing Mid and North Wales. On my doorstep, you need to visit Anglesey! Stunning views and a visit to RAF Valley is a must in the week to watch the jets
Yes Anglesey is defo on the list for the bike - driven it but not ridden (yet!)
@TheMissendenFlyer great 👍
A visit to Church Bay, wavecrest café for lunch (massive scones). Also, Brynsiencyn for a 📸 overlooking the Menai straights and Snowdonia in the background is recommended 😀
The wing looked very happy through the lanes 👍👍
It was!
Good advert for a trip to Wales 👍👍
Smashing ride-out and wow those views, thanks 👍
Love Elan. once or twice a month, I'm there. It's my happy place.
Cool!
The elan Valley it's beautiful love riding around there had a few picnic there next to thr River 👍
It sure is!
This was a beautiful thing I watched!
Thank you!
@@TheMissendenFlyer You're welcome, but I should be thanking you!
I stopped at the Devil’s bridge last time I was in Wales (also doing Elan Valley & Snowdonia) and like you said it’s £2 we’ll spent! Certainly good training for your legs on the steps lol. Good to see the GW out and about again and it’s surprising seeing it alongside the RT’s and realising that it, if anything, looks sleeker than the RTs! 😮
Yes everyone considers the GoldWing a massive Bike, which indeed it is, but next to the RT it looks decidedly svelt!
Quite agree that the views in Wales are on apar with anywhere else in the world
Me again, went to the Two Hoots cafe is superb, the orange homemade cake is to die for. I approached from the Elan Valley via the mountain road. Great watching this after being in the area a couple of weeks ago.
Where is the two Hoots???
@@TheMissendenFlyer it’s the tea room you all parked at with the little train station. On a Sunday it’s packed with bikes.
Aha!! That makes complete sense (Two Hoots and the cake!)
Another great video Mr Flyer. Wales and motorbikes just go together.
Congratulations to Mrs Flyer on passing her bike test. Are you two considering riding solo together any time soon and filming the journey?
I assume with two cameras that will be twice the work for you Andy. Be a great watch though.
Yes - sort of….
Good to see you in Wales again TMF. The Elan valley is one of my favourite rides. You’re very close to Buuilth Wells and the Ducati nutter territory (never to be forgotten !).
I’m currently sitting at a German services on my way to Belsen as per your Norway tour (wouldn’t have thought about it otherwise so big thanks) 😀.
Wow John - enjoy your trip - and have you still got the nutter machine!??
I would have thought Mrs flyer would be on the insurance now Andy so as to give you a break and ride pillion on the wing 😂 now she has her licence great content
Indeed, unfortunately this was filmed before she had passed her test.
Elan Valley, one of my favourite, local (ish) rides.
Some easy trails too, mostly gravel 🙂
I’ve ridden through Elan many times. Two things to watch out for are the sheep 😊. But more importantly is the sheep farmers. They fly round some of those blind bends towing trailers like there’s no tomorrow.
Good point!
13:50 LoL. Andy, you are fast becoming the Alan Partridge of the bike world.
Aha!
Thanks for the tour, lovely
Our pleasure!
Saturday mornings with the TMFs, coffee, and toast . I've also noticed a lack of wildlife (except for the sheep). Never thought about the kangaroos in Australia. I've always rode RS's or S's because the RT was so massive. The protection is less but you get more cooling air when it's hot. Guess that's why several of my bikes are naked., with crash bars and extra lights., and of course I'm fully covered, not naked. Lol. 🙈🙈👍👍
Brilliant tour once again. Thank you! :)
Our pleasure!
Hi Andy, another great video, I should imagine you’ve worked your way through that menu at the hotel by now 😂saw you and Carol there on your wing a few weeks ago, and you were right it is great food 👌 keep up the good work and ride safe.
You should have said hello (or did you - we spoke to a few bikers there???)....and yes we've pretty much spanked that menu, all of which is delicious.....
Great video. The road from Devils Bridge to Elan Valley is one of my favorites, you definitely rode it the best way. We stayed at the Tyn y Cornel Hotel as well in June on our recent tour of Wales, it gets a thumbs up from me.👍
Yes great hotel isn't it....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Very good, enjoyed the food, too much.
Yes the food there is especially good....I've got through the whole menu by now!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes we had a good at the menu for 3 nights. Have you seen the wild swimming club that meets there regularly.
Oh Boy! Another great bike tour...
Really enjoyed this episode.
Delighted to hear that Kelvin!
Great ride. Elan Valley now on my list to get over to. Can manage that in a (long) day from East Yorkshire - but would probably do an overnighter to increase the chance of decent weather and take away the strain...
Good plan!
Epic ride in the Elan valley you cant beat it and interesting to here about the rs better than gs for two up touring.
That’ll be RT
@@TheMissendenFlyer ok ok smarty pants
Nice one Andy loved it....😊
Thanks 👍
Very nice, Spectacular scenery, reminds me of Scotland. Must add a MC trip in Wales to my bucket list. I need to get a bike in the Uk.
You should!
Yay! A touring video! From Wales even! Thank you very much!
BTW, how are the videos from your Alpine trip coming along?
I haven’t been on an Alpine trip?
You never said what Whales tasted like!!! 😂
Great flick, lovely scenery. Jealous
Love riding Elan but also Lynne Brianne, which is a little bit more......isolated! Wales is just great for biking but the enforcement seems to have increased over the last few years. I don't mind the 20mph limit in built up areas. It's the same on the continent now. Thanks for taking us with you.
Hi Andy,
The weather hasn’t been that good for a decent motorcycle tour; too hot or too wet and stormy. Not a single day with at least 5-7 hours of good weather.
So I did several bicycle tours in stead.
Last Monday I did a 67 km tour to a fifteenth century fortified little city called Heusen.
Exceptional content!!
Delighted you think that!
Next time your up this way you should try Llanidloes Llyn Clywedog Andy. Thanks for yet another cracking vid
Funnily enough, we tried that last time we visited Wales!
