Mike Olfield, London, the rain, Branson, the Tubular Bells! The best thing in a London life. And look at Mike, at the end, giving his appreciation to the band. What a night! Love that!

If one day intelligent aliens visit Earth and hear this piece by Mike, these visitors will mistakenly think that humanity is great. There’s an old cottage perched high up on a hill near my house. That hill is Hergest Ridge, and that cottage was Mike Oldfield’s hideaway. It’s a place steeped in history yet forgotten by time. He must have watched the sun rising up over that hill and captured its spirit with his creative genius.
