The funny thing is I lived in a small village with my parents and older brother. The first time I was allowed to go and play with other kids in the city (2 miles from our village) was when I was 13 years old! The thing I used to convince my mother to let me go was the CD of Mike Oldfield with this song! My friend was about to give it to me on the city's playground where they were playing football. My mom said yes, and after that, everything changed! I started to go there almost every day (during the summer); I soon made new friends (they all lived in the city) and 7-8 of us became best friends! Our gatherings at the city's fountain, playing catch, football, and basketball, and going out for pizza - I still remember those days. The best days of my life! Everything started with one CD! With this amazing song!
@@syndoza I think she's called Pepsi. She used to be part of a girl duet called Pepsi and Shirley back in the late 80s. They had a few records at the time, I think I remember their Goodbye Stranger song being their biggest hit 👍
Veramente !!!! , e con Pepsi💞 è eccezionale .... non smetteresti mai di ascoltarla, soprattutto di notte.....nel silenzio è ancora più emozionante !!!!
Musicians: Adrian Thomas (Keyboards) Pepsi Damacque (vocals) Claire Nicholson (keyboards and guitars) Carrie Melbourne (bass) Fergus Garrand (drums and percussion).
That guitar tone is just exquisite, and Mike is so gifted player, he really makes that guitar sing. And he seems to be playing entirely with his fingers, no pick. Plus, I got a bit carried away by Pepsi
I find I get far better tone using nails than an pick on electric too but am used to it as play classical too. It’s a bit harder on steel acoustic unless your nails are super tough but string tension ot too bad on a lekky.
I have to say, this is so far, my favorite female vocalist attempting Moonlight Shadow" after Maggie Reilly's. She didn't feel she had to do anything strange with it. The song is already beautiful and rich enough to try to adorn it unnecessairly. I really like this sober version, more faithful to the original.
Pepsi does a wonderful job singing. And I like her natural moves too. She's lovely. And the blond girl doing the exquisite background vocals is also a treat!
I was in my teens, when this song/ music was produced. At age 69, I still enjoy it tremendously. Those were the days of good music. I had the album/LP Record of Jethro Tull called Aqaulung. Sitting on a park bench, snot is running down his nose---.
Mike has a special way of giving the audience some of the best music a guitar can produce..... without putting him self to much in center of everything
This is when music makes me fell tears. So incredibly beautiful with Pepsi´s voice and the world´s greatest musician ever just letting the notes flow from his guitar. There is a God.
Pepsi sings this song better than any other. Beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. Beautifully accompanied by superb female organist/guitarist/vocalist. Mike Oldfield's composition and guitar work of course doesn't need comment... he's up there with the best.
That guitar solo is the finest I've seen in a long time! Also Pepsi (from Pepsi & Shirley - Wham backup singers) has a wonderful voice! Thank you for posting.
Whilst enjoying Mike's solos immensely, most world renowned electric guitarists rate the virtually unknown and recently deceased Englishman, Allan Holdsworth, to be easily the best electric guitarist.
i can listen to this version a zillion times and still enjoy the voice of Pepsi and the backing musicians and backing vocals and well Mike on guitar is mind blowing.
Esta cancion deberia estar entre las mejores d la historia. Desde luego fue la mejor cancion de los años 80. Es una gran obra de arte. Y los "criticos musicales" no se acuerdan de ella. Siempre nos venden las mismas canciones de esa epoca. 🌺
One of the most beautiful songs ever, I grew up with it! Beautiful version with amazing solos especially the one beginning at 3:37 which is not present in the standard version with Maggie Reilly. Maggie's voice was stunning-perfect and warm but this is a wonderful interpretation as well, different but really really nice! Great emotions!!!
Just perfection! A great song performed by brilliant musicians and a beautiful unassuming singer with a really really pleasant voice that was made for this song. I listen to this almost every day.
Mike Oldfield is pure talent... But when that talent is mixed with experience, experimenting, influence and adding a pinch of other geniuses' company, gets him BEYOND many. I always cringe with every different play of this solo, and never fails in making me shiver. That guitar is singing by its own!
Fantastic, forgot how good Mike oldfield was on the guitar, original solo was Scott Robertson from thin lizzy, mike pulled it off brilliantly, well he did write it,amazing. The girl singing had big shoes to fill from Maggie Bell but again amazing.
I remember 1983 this song was my fav. this version the vocalist is much better than the original ps greetings from the Dutch! I love all of you! gOD BLESS!
40 years old song. Absolute classic.

The guitar solo at the end is bloody great. Anyone who doesn't like that is not human.!!

Musicians are goo too as well blonde chorus 's singer at keyboards
Im not human but i like this
I always thought this such a good song. Love the guitar
On my top 100 list of all time solos. A list that is heavily dominated by Metal and hard rock acts.

My favourite Mike Oldfield song.😊Play it over and over again, the wonderful singer's name should be given too. Cheers.
What a fantastic guitarist Mike Oldfield is😊😊😊
Extraordinaire
Oh yes indeed
The flow of notes during his solos is pure magic. It could last 15 min and you dont get bored. This is a very rare skill.
One of the best songs, compositions of all times. Thank you dear Mike.
Brilliant. One of Mike Oldfields songs, enhanced by the wonderful Pepsi, what a voice.
She is filling big shoes, she fitted them ....one of my all time favourite songs...applause 🎉🎉🎉🎉
E..sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss .nn55
Remember the 80's pop band Wham and their backing singers Pepsi and Shirley,, this is Pepsi DeMacque a very good singer indeed.
I didn’t notice her shoes 🥹
Matter of fact, she more than justified the orig version. Her rendition has more emotional depth and her voice is superior to Reilly's.
@@viclaron2937 she good enough for mike...
SINGER IS AMAZINGGG
HELL YEAH!!! There's no way to sing better than this... Luv u Helen 💖
Pepsi also Shirley married to Martin Kemp of spandeau ballet were also in many George Michael video's close friends of the late artist 🇬🇧
Pepsi 😊
Gorgeous woman - beautiful voice. And a big shout out to the woman singing harmony , on acoustic guitar & apparently keyboards as well !

I see he's ditched the Strat for a PRS, not knocking PRS just an observation.
Thanks
She is brilliant
Voice is a bit flat, but ok.

Absolutely pretty and softly voice.

Mike Oldfield & Helen Pepsi Demacque. Totally unreal!!!!!
Definitely the best version yet
3:36 - 5:13 words cant describe how i love that part
The guitar is talking... Unbelieve
that part is even better in the live concert version (that one's video quality is bad though)
Mike is a brilliant guitarist. His style is incredible natural and fluid
He can play well
