So much going on here : The Indian lady singing, the little girls speech like telling an old story, the sirens, the sound of pumping heart and the tubular bells / yet we have the finale with all this together with the heavy drums. fantastic!
I highly doubt that anyone else will be to outdo or match this level of a rock music performance! This is simply outstanding on every level. Every musician performs flawlessly and the vocalists are devine.

Listening to those tracks for over a decade when I found Mike Oldfield's music. This piece still gives me the same emotions and goosebumbs every single time. Had a 1088km trip (so said the gps) and listened to this over and over again... It felt out of this world, the highways, the night, me and his music. I would do the trip again for no other reason than to feel this. Amaizing...beautifull....there are no enough words.
23 years; the time that has passed SINCE this spectacular performance of 1 of my ALL-TIME fave albums of his, AND the age of my FIRST born. Born in a GREAT year! Gives me chills down my spine EVERY time I listen to this. Phenomenal. #mayhismusicliveon My eldest son even likes his music; thanks to his Mum lol. (ME, did I say?) Lol.

I love his music since my childhood. When I was 14 others laughed on me and asked me "What is this" ? I couldn't explain them what I feel when I listen to his music because they would not have understood. Mike Vangelis and Jare were my favorite in that time. They said I am an UFO...Who knows ?....

I have just read his autobiography and You realise how talented but tortured this guy actually is. I believe he is fortunately in a good place now and can address his issues of the past. In many years to come he will be compared to Mozart and Beethoven. He is still for now thankfully a living legend. God bless you Mike.

This concert at Horseguards was absolutely phenomenal, atmosphere electric - thank you Mike Oldfield - best I've ever been to and with my mate Richard Hill, we danced and got soaked in the rainstorm.
I remember when I was 14 comming home from school and playing this on top volume every other day I put this DVD in player after 8 years not hearing it Whole concert is magical...but when it came to this.....I had tears in my eyes once again. The memories and THE masterpiece.....just incredible I have goosebumps only thinking about it...sadly I won't ever see this live in my life :(
I feel this so strongly. when i rewatched this concert as an adult was the first time i shed a tear listening to music (I think it was the moonlight shadow outro solo specifically, which i hadn't heard ever before)

a true musical genius. mike is the master of over 25 musical instruments. his guitar work is awesome. he has been overlooked by the music industry. mike is amazing. way ahead of his time. I plan on grabbing as many of his albums as possible and if you love great music you should do the same.
It's a really wonderful mix of feelings, the synthesizers, the african drums, the furious solo... It's one of the most awesome expressions that I've ever seen!!!

This and Tubular Bells are absolute Master Pieces of Work i may be biased as am a Mike Oldfield Fan but he is simply the best dont forget in the pool tricks of the light man in the rain to name a few others
Stumbled upon the 'this' version in a 2 cd set, some 40 -odd yrs' after hearing the 'original.' I listened to this 'new version' in the late evening inside the car in the driveway. This tune always conveyed powerful emotion and as I listened, I could see my mum thru' the kitchen window, filling the tea kettle. Seeing this I cried horribly, for mum was diagnosed w/quickly-spreading cancer and in just a few months after that evening in the car w/Tubular Bells, my mother died...
So very sad and emotional it touched my heart. The pain of losing a loved one never goes away and everytime you listen to it it the memory always comes back😪

I saw MO in 1980 doing his Platinum tour with none other than Pierre and Benoit Moerlen and Hansford Rowe. Incredible music that night which encored with the Blaydon Races.

Oldfield is a pioneer and master in combining acoustic traditional instruments with electronic music. I think he was the first one, in the early 70's.

Stumbled upon the 'this' version in a 2 cd set, some 40 -odd yrs' after hearing the 'original.' I listened to this 'new version' in the late evening inside the car in the driveway. This tune always conveyed powerful emotion and as I listened, I could see my mum thru' the kitchen window, filling the tea kettle. Seeing this I cried horribly, for mum was diagnosed w/quickly-spreading cancer and in just a few months after that evening in the car w/Tubular Bells, my mother died...
