Tiny trucks are entirely about wants over needs, so whatever makes us happy, right? Tinkering and making the rigs into exactly what I want is what I like best about the hobby. Curious to see what the final version of the Pro looks like.
morning gents😊
front unloading on climbs, shorter springs, center band strap, more anti squat etc... or a combo of them, its just the fine tuning. the rear hop is lack of front traction no to little weight on front tires causing very tiny contact patch with no pressure behind it. more noticeable in 0% as tires turning equal speed vs underdriven.
I think everything you've got here comes down to the 10 Pro shocks. Like 8 out of 10 Axial releases, they simply don't fit. Needs a shorter shock. Not leaking would just be a bonus.
Great video Mr C! The pro looks good but after you do more weight reduction it's gonna be better. Very peaceful and quiet at the canyon this morning , perfect for coffee and mushing a rid on the rocks.
Its so easy to get the OD/UD that we want, if they were able to think before designing. Make a gearbox that switches between 0% and 12% UD. You want more? Add it to the axle, and then you have the 12% UD on the axle, plus the 0% and the 12% of the gearbox, making (if im correct) switchable 12% and 24%. Want more? add more OD to the opposite axle, and you will have (again, idk if im getting the numbers correctly) switchable 24% and 36%. Or maybe put in the gearbox 0% and 24%, and apply the same thing to the axles
I wasn’t even considering the Pro for my next build but it seems to deserve another look.
I’m working on another project, using the pro carbon chassis, Amazon dig, straight bdxrc axles power wagon half cab. 60 kg servo. I think it would be a great comp vehicle
Pretty sure this is done. It says what me and many others have been saying. The VRD is better.
The VRD is a better value, no question. The VRD needs less work, no question. But this gal has got She's all red flags, and I know I CAN FIX HER
@@CrawlerCanyon I'm sure you can and will... We will be watching.
24:37 = CORRECT! You have to know when you need it and when you don't.
Imo, the pro is meant to run 8/27F and 8/33R diffs. Drives how you would want to it to in zero, and imo the switchable is really a faux dig panic button for when you're not allowed to run it, but you need it for those awkward turns. Converted two of the local trail buddies into cheater rig runners, and I gotta say having way more fun. Think the comp builds are gonna go on marketplace. 😂
You might have to change those tires again
21:59 Just did dig on the LCXU on my k10. Portal gears 27% od fusion 1800kv. I'd put this up against a pro anyday.
I use stick on Velcro to hold my batteries in...super easy
My batteries and electronics are velcroed
Velcro is all I use also and have NEVER had a battery come loose.
Pick a battery retention method, and I've knocked a battery out of it.
A also have velcro for batteries on like 10 rigs. Do ya'll even watch videos?
@@CrawlerCanyon yeah, I'm not saying it's 100%. but I bet straps AND velcro would be pretty effective
So nice!
After your leading statement I expected a different body b/c we know your affinity of the chop top SEMA special
It is growing on me. It's getting worse, because the body basically requires the giant, stupid chassis sides, which I desperately want to cut.
Howdy!
I like my 10pro 😁 AND I can take it to Axial fest, lol
How much Axial does it have to be to qualify? Give this one a few months and it probably won't.
Some say the carbon fiber or after market chassis changes the stability feeling
Let's hope so.
Off topic , av ya seen da new axles wit tank steer mode........bit expensive, but interesting 🤔
Sparc drive, yes. I'm still amazed that people are asking about it after finding out that it's $500.
@@CrawlerCanyon was jus wondering wot ya thought of da concept of dem, wasn't expecting ya ta get em 😆 can buy a vrd carbon fa less.
Flyweight build is slightly different order, Overall weight, weight bias, CG only in a way to affect the first two (includes adding weights as needed) sprung v unsprung is really not really on the mind as you already flyweight the unsprung. IMO if you are going to flyweight, no more added weight, lose all the weight wheels/inserts. Then scale it for bias/cg if removing that wheel weight plus the 12oz gearbox sub 5lbs i would say. And your knuckle weights now are going to be enough i would think.
It would be difficult to get this under 5lbs. Would it be expensive? Good lord yes.
Yo
Could you try Exo caged rc inserts for the XHX pins if your gonna go 3d printed route? Curios for another perspective on em
why? They are another example for poorly executed print inserts.😎
Can we somehow get switchable OD between something like 0% & 20% or 5% & 25%? I’d be interested in that for the 10 Pro given how well it seems to do with 0% in so many climbing situations.
Increments of 10, I suppose. An 8/27 in the front axle or an 8/33 in the rear would would make it 10/50 instead of 0/40. Both would get 20/60. I still think that low-20s is the sweet spot for versatility.
Time for an Amazon dig box?
I'm gonna try Creeper T first.
Did you flip the shocks over as well? Or were they already flipped? I'm 9 minutes in and anxious to see.... nice changes.
They were upside-down from the build.
Love the Stewie Griffin "Whip" pronunciation. Are the links the 10 pro stock links?
Yep. Stock links. I haven't even messed with the mounting positions yet.
@@CrawlerCanyon Thanks for the reply.
This installment doubles as testing s5 xhx comp pins on big overdrive. Do s4 comp pins like big overdrive more?
...maybe? I don't think I have enough time vs. time to say conclusively.
Can one put ar44 ring and pinion gears inside F10 straight axel?
Absolutely. An F10 is basically an offset pumpkin AR44.
@@CrawlerCanyon hmm, then the new VRD straight axel kit is looking more appealing. Across the border it’s coming it at just shy of 400$ Cdn, 40-50$ more than the the element kit or axial base kit
@@CrawlerCanyon I’ll actually wait this time and see your thoughts on it before I commit.
I can't believe how cheap the stuff is like I don't understand how they machine and have the product for you at that
Economy of scale in manufacturing, market manipulation in retail.
So much discussing about OD 🙄What it comes down to is that 24% is the sweet spot and thats it.😬
My vote is leave the transmission stock, that 40% is what makes it a pro.
But still it hasn’t named it self yet? It’s weird how names are earned

My Gmade Gs02 Cantaliver rig has no geared overdrive possibilities, so I run it with 4.75" front tires and 4.19" rears to get about 12% overdrive...really like it. ua-cam.com/play/PLTFKgOxM0i_YTzafsk4YZnvkFeomc_w-D.html&si=mqtGPN2Ji10QnIeA
Da body looks nice in da light from 6ft , But id av ta find a better looking body, im sorry its jus not Canyon quality.......
