      Your not the only one. With the M1/M2 Pro and Max chips instead of trying forcing the Mac to use mainly the efficiency cores Apple tuned the chips to just cap the wattage to a point where they are still fast but are just more efficient. The performance drops but not by anywhere near the amount the M1 chip does. I can tell the difference personally when starting to push it, but it’s not massive.

    If on your WiFi router you set 5GHz to max power and 2.4GHz to half power (same name), then your Mac/phone will prefer 5GHz when in range but still seamlessly connect to 2.4GHz when far away or outside when 5GHz doesn't reach. Note that having multiple WiFi names causes AirPlay to disconnect every time it changes which WiFi name it's connected to, especially phones with WiFi Private Address turned on (default)

    • @MaxTechOfficial

      Thanks for the tip. I personally need my 2.4ghz to be full power because of smart home accessories that are far away which some of them still have a lower than I’d like signal even at full power, and of course most of these only support 2.4ghz.

    One quibble with this video. You shouldn't have to restart unless absolutely necessary. macOS is built on UNIX. A lot of server farms run on UNIX-based operating systems because of outstanding stability and uptime. Most of the time, if you logout & log back in this will fix an issue. My 2013 MacBook Pro had 334 days uptime with no slowdowns. When its keyboard didn't work on wake one afternoon (a software bug at the time) I had to force a restart. If you're having an issue where you need to restart regularly there's a piece of software installed that's causing the issue.

    • @MaxTechOfficial
      @MaxTechOfficial  Рік тому +1

      It’s absolutely third party software and on some occasions bugs from new MacOS updates (for example my airdrop not working and crashing finder, which is fixed with a restart) If you just have the mac apps and use safari the experience is way better but for most people once they load up with third party apps some of them have issues. Another one I have is a motion VFX plugin that we use in most videos will randomly unconnected but only in the exported video while it looks perfectly fine in Final Cut. A restart also fixes this.

      Apple Silicon doesn’t have Turbo Boost. Doesn’t matter because in the Mac, their processors are way faster than Intel’s anyway. If you have a 16 inch Pro, however, there is a high power mode you can turn on to force it to clock higher (I believe 3.67 GHz vs 3.49 GHz).

    Thanks for the advice, but I've been using Apple computers since 1994 and I can say that the Sonoma system is the most screwed-up and most buggy operating system in Apple's history. We don't spend thousands of dollars to sit and waste several hours a day repairing the system or fiddling with settings to make, for example, the external drive visible, the external monitor working, the email application working, etc. The idea of Apple died with Steve Jobs.
